  • This is a video of Mike's brothers 1969 Mach 1. It has the old school way of documenting a restoration with actual photos in the binder. I converted them to video format for this video. At the end of the slide show Mike tells a little bit of the back story of this car which has been in his family since 1980. We hope you enjoy the episode with the 69 Mustang! Nice car- where to find parts to put power windows & locks on 70 mach 1

    • @mustangmike5324
      @mustangmike5324 2 года назад +1

      Plenty of options for power window and door lock conversations. Just search them out on google. I don't have any that I would recommend as my car is different to what you'd be using. I wish I could be more help, but they are all similar. You will have to drill some holes to run the wires for both. That's where it gets a little tricky. You need some kind of boot from the pillar to the door. I think a fox body Mustang'a boot might work?? Hope this helps some. Thanks for watching!!

    Just another fine example of this Family, using their skills and knowledge, to build another fine automobile. Always thought a lot of Russ and John , and the knowledge and craftsmanship, a father has been able to pass on to their sons. Such a wonderful family! God has blessed you all, with the ability to shine, in everything you all have accomplished. Just know how much you boys have been blessed, within your lives. Most of us, could only dream, of having such great love and support from our fathers. I remember seeing this Mach 1, setting back in your dads garage, way back in the early 90's. It's been in the family for a LONG time.

    Every thing looks top notch. Love the interior upgrades. Time for a new clutch pack rebuild kit. How did you get the TKO to fit without cutting up the the tunnel ?

    • @mustangmike5324
      @mustangmike5324 4 года назад +1

      The transmission fit with no issues. Used an adapter plate between the factory bellhousing and trans. You can buy a kit, but this worked just fine. Thanks for watching!!

      @robertstewart3086 4 года назад +1

      @@mustangmike5324 My TKO was so tall it was crashing into the top of the tunnel trans support .Causing a horrible drive shaft angle and vibration. Didn't want to cut up the car which would affect the console also, so I sold the TKO and went Richmond super street 5 speed. The TKO shifted nicer...

    • @mustangmike5324
      @mustangmike5324 4 года назад +1

      @@robertstewart3086 Strange...you should have not had an issue. My brother and I are just like you...we wouldn't cut a stock car up just to fit a transmission. Stinks you had to change the trans out. The TKO 5 speeds are an awesome trans IMO.

      @robertstewart3086 4 года назад +1

      @@mustangmike5324 I bought my TKO in the early 2000's.With the shifting linkage on top it made the trans too tall. Shoved all the way up in the tunnel it caused incorrect geometry of the bell crank. I also had to shim my shaker hood scoop so it would have a proper relationship with the hood. As well as an unacceptable drive line angle..Is it possible that the dimensions of the newer TKO's are different.?

Make sure the crank rotates and change the oil. Put oil in that has a high content of ZDDP. Pull the distributor and prime the engine. Reinstall and crank. Of course the fuel system will be an issue.
