You have good points and I agree with most everything you said.
True story #1. I bought two 45 lb barbells from Academy Sports several years ago. This was the start of my home gym. About two years later, I weighed them. They were both 35 lbs. True story #2. When I got my first true olympic bar after upgrading from my cheapo bars, my clean came up so much easier (because of good needle bearings) I practically flew backwards and landed on my butt. (Questionable technique, I know). My jerk was much smoother, too. True story #3. My wife said I look so much sexier when I bench with my stainless steel, German, expensive power bar and that my specialty bar collection makes her weak in the knees. (Story #3 may not be true).
I wholeheartedly agree that MOST people can get buy with budget bars and racks. But there is an important difference between what your equipment can do and what it can do well. Experience has taught me that once you start working with heavy weight...which I'd put at around 225# for most people, the performance of budget bars really starts to break down. I think reviewers like you, Gluck, and everyone else should really teach consumers to consider how much they will be lifting. CAN a cheap bar be used for a 1,500 lb SBD combo? Absolutely. Does it perform well with 500+ lbs on the bar? Does it inspire me to come out and put my hands on it and get to work. No. Can it work for a normal Joe or Jane who will never get more than 180 lbs on the bar? Yes.
Luckily, the quality of budget barbells has improved SO MUCH over the past 5-6 years. There are so many GOOD budget bars in the $100-$200 range.

Yeah you kinda have to learn some of these things along the way. You don’t really learn what you like until you have some time under the bar. I agree the budget bars have come a long way recently they are some that are much improved

My old rusty barbell is actually 21.4 kg. I guess it doesn't matter when you only have one barbell.

Really solid points. Especially the 225 example. I think anyone under 225 bench and 315 deadlift won't be able to tell the difference between most bars. With Oly lifts, maybe a bit less than that. The thing most people won't bring up is that 90% of people lifting at home won't ever hit those numbers. They just want to get in shape and be more capable. They aren't looking to put in the work needed to lift bigger numbers like that. Most of my clients would love to be able to hit a 225 bench someday.

as a beginning lifter, the effect of whip is noticeable after several months. I have a 28.5 Rogue with some whip and on squats I notice a little bounce. I'm looking at an upgrade to a 29mm Rogue with less whip. Not sure if it's that big of a deal but it's what I notice. Also started with a 3x3 Titan rack, it's built like a tank, love it.

I am currently waiting for black Friday to buy a barbell. I have a 25 year old rusty Olympic barbell, that I have been lifting with for a year. I am looking at Rep Black Diamond with stainless steel bar and hard chrome sleeves. There are very few reviews of this bar, but I got convinced that double black is probably too much. Yet the major thing I want improved for my current bar is the knurling. As something in between I am going for single black diamond but without any coating to dull the knurling. My old bar has very passive knurling and I want something with more grip.
I waited a year to be sure that I am actually going to stick with lifting. This buy is a gift to myself for staying with it. After that I will probably find something new to work towards as a self reward. That way I am keeping myself from spending as a crazy and I get something for motivation. Funny enough that gives me plenty of time to overthink and I have changed plans for that barbell countless times.

Your cardio can be built into strength training though, by just doing some higher volume sets and supersetting unrelated muscle groups

You are 1000% right! I should have mentioned that my 8-10k steps are done in the zone 2 heart rate. What I was really trying to drive home is how unnecessary endless hours of cardio are when trying to lose weight. It actually makes the process a lot harder!

You will never really hear it recommended by most reviewers or content creators because Texas Power bars doesn’t have an affiliate program. It’s still a solid bar and still used pretty widely a lot of Powerlifting meets especially local and regional meets, but for the most part folks won’t recommend an item you can’t make money on.

    I believe otherwise
If you dont say that annoying stuff every video you will get more subscribers.
Every single youtuber says that same stuff every single video and you're right it is super annoying.
RUclips will not cancel someone who doesn't say it every video.
I wish someone out there would not say it every video. There are millions of us viewers that would watch their videos just because they did not say it.
Honestly, it comes across as begging and embarrassing.
I'm not down on you because you say it, Every youtube video says it and I hate that part of every video and I mute or FF through that part of the video.
The best we get is some youtubers post it in words across the screen and dont say it, there are a small number of guys who do that.
Again, not angry with you just annoyed with the saying and past tired of hearing it so as I said I don th listen to it anymore, I mute or FF through it and most of th rd time I miss what the guy said tight around that part buy it'd worth it not to hear the saying.
    Take Care

There is for sure a difference in how many likes and subs you get on a video when you say it vs when you don't, but I'd rather start taking the approach of if the video isn't good enough on its own to get a like and a sub, then it's not good enough. I don't want to put out stuff just to put it out and then use tricks to grow the channel. I appreciate your feedback!
