2008 Lexus IS-F: Muscle Car Done Right In A Japanese Manner.

- In this video I review my newly bought 2008 Lexus IS-F in Ultrasonic Blue Mica. This car is very special to me since it's both a high-performance V8 and it's my son's favorite color. Ever since I sold my 2019 Toyota 4Runner TRD PRO in Voodoo Blue, I've always wanted to get a special car in Blue color and this is it. For a 15 year old car, this is still a head turner and puts smiles on my face everytime I drive it.

Great video. Thanks for the awesome insight. Keep up the good work Ehsan.
Thanks man. My pleasure. Thanks for encouraging words!
This is my dream car as well. Now I do have an IS… but the entry level IS250. It has been very reliable for me, but of course, it doesn’t have the speed and excitement of that car you’re driving. It sure looks extremely similar however. My IS is also a 2008 year model.
Thank you Andrew! I know that they look very similar on the exterior except for a few notable things (bulged hood, front flared fenders, front bumper, quad exhaust...). I'm glad that it's been a reliable car for you, and hopefully, you'll have many more quality years with your '08 IS. Thank you for sharing your story btw!
I live up here in Sacramento recently bought my friends 2013 ISF off him in ultrasonic blue I have the white leather seats, the mods on the car Hayward and Scott exhaust Apex intake tube, swift Springs I have 65,000 miles on the car
That is the ULTIMATE spec. What a beauty! I bet it sounds mean as heck too with the mods. I already miss mine. God bless!
Congrats on the F man! They’re becoming harder and harder to find. In my opinion, they’re one of the best sounding v8’s in existence too. I don’t think I will ever get rid of mine.
Thanks brother🙏 I agree, especially finding one owner, well-maintained, and no accidents with no modification. We got lucky! Yes, the second intake coming live after 3500rpm is just music to ears every time I get a chance driving it. I convinced my wife to keep it for at least 3 years since she barely drives, and it'll go up in value imo. Is yours a '08 or newer?
@@radridesbyehsanshirazi8779 Very true! I searched for a little bit over a year to find a single owner one near me, and it was still a state over too. It’s an 08. It’s still worth the same as when I bought it a few years ago even with the 15k mikes I’ve put on it since then. I have a few short clips of it on my profile too. Wanted to make the loudest Lexus anyone had heard lol.
@SkywalkerOGK Nice man. Your long search and hunt for one did pay off. We're very similar in that both have 2008s and 1 owner cars. Mark my words that in 3 years, they'll be worth a lot more because more EVs are going to become the norm and people will feel nostalgic for IS-Fs, C63s, M3, Supra...and they'll increase in value. I'll check out those clips, lol.
agree, I will not get rid of mine either. '11
@@elgenius7536yeah seriously hold onto it… I was stupid and traded mine for z06. Regret it every day. Thankfully I eventually found a nice GSF in the area and grabbed it as soon as I could.
I have 08 isf too. My isf 148k coming problem cracked header and vally plate cooling leak ,after that no problem at all .very nice car , love it😊
Nice man. I'm sorry that you went through some major maintenance issues, but I'm glad that it's been a solid car for you afterward. I'm hoping that I don't have to go through those in the next few years since my wife will barely drive it and probably put 1000-1500 miles per year on it😁🙏
How about ignition coils and oxygen sensors? Haven't you replaced any of these?
@Oscar Ayebazibwe I haven't yet. I'm not 100% certain if the previous did any of those either. So far, it's running like a champ but of course only time will tell otherwise.
I had a 2008 IS350 until about 6 months ago when It was totaled. During my great time of ownership, I had found an ISF for sale and decided to go for a test drive - I loved it as I knew I would and I went home to think about trading in my car for the F. The next day, I found out I was going to be a father. I was excited, scared (cliche I know) but I also knew that I’d have to put the ISF aspirations on the back burner. Now I have a 2022 Accord sport 2.0t as my dad-mobile but still plan to find myself an ISF once i can justify it. Great video, I will never see enough ISF content
First and foremost, congratulations on being a dad. It's the best feeling as my wife and I have a 5 year old and he's the best thing in our lives. You're going to make lots of sacrifices in terms of sleeping, time, and, of course, finances, man. However, in the end, it'll be worth it. The Accord, with its strong turbo 4 and reliability, is a great choice for bow, and you can always find an IS-F but make sure they're well taken care, involved in no accidents ... I did a lot of research before buying this IS-F for my wife, who barely drives it. My own weekend toy is my 97 C36 AMG that has been in a mechanic shop waiting for another wiring harness and then tuning. It's frustrating since it's been in 2 mechanic shops since 4/2021... anyhow, I appreciate your feedback on my video, and we'll keep this IS-F for at least 2 years so more videos will be uploaded periodically. Have a great rest of weekend! Ehsan
Still can’t believe lexus created this
Great video. I live in New Zealand and have a 08 ISF. Purchased it couple years ago. We are right hand drive so we get alot of second hand low km cars from Japan. Mine came with factory sun roof delete and about equivalent of 75,000 miles for around 17,000 USD.
A lot of car for that price.
What a beautiful car! What color is it? That's a great deal! It's so much cheaper than the United States
Congrats on your purchase! I remember sitting in the movie theater in 2008 when the IS F was first shown. Our seats rumbled with the sound of that V8, granted the Dolby Stereo Surround Sound kind of helped, but still. 😀 Wanting a piece of Lexus V8 History is why I got rid of my '16 IS350 FSport, the car was perfectly awesome...but it wasn't a IS500. 😈💙 Thanks for posting!
Thank you! That's a great story, and thanks for sharing. The V8 definitely rumbles, especially past 3500 rpm when the secondary intake kicks in. Your IS500 looks badass too.
Very nice car brother, fun to drive and sounds menacing. This car is a mustang with m3 handling and the reliability of a Camry.
By the way consider a limited slip differential for it, helps a lot with cornering or drifting.
Fun fact: The chief engineer in charge of designing the ISF was also a part of the jzx100 chaser and mk4 supra projects.
Thank you Reza. Love your IS-F as well, and best wishes on selling it, man, as it will put smiles on the next owner's face. I love your analogy (Mustang, M3, and Camry) as it's true. I will probably keep it stock since it's my wife's, and she isn't an enthusiastic driver. However, my own C36 AMG has been heavily modified and does have custom LSD. I knew mr. Yaguchi was involved in the MKI, MKII, MKIII, and MKIV projects, but I didn't know he was involved in the Chaser as well. Thank you for sharing your feedback agha!
probably need some new gas struts for the trunk if it is heavy and keep it away from the sun and heat cuz the 2nd gen IS have the dash and door panel sticky/melting issues, the Mark Levinson system is a 6 discs DVD/CD player, you can watch DVD movies or listen to DVD audio
Thank you SO MUCH for this🙏I think it might need new gas struts for the trunk as it does open and hold up but is definitely heavy. I know the previous owner took care of the dash and door panels in 2020 due to it being on recall and was replaced at the dealership. I had NO CLUE that I could watch DVDs on the infotainment system as it is rather cool.
isf 🙏
😀👌
I approve this message. Sub'd.
This is one of the best subscription messages ever. Thanks brother 🙏
I also sub'd yours. Love that IS500...
Would love to see a 0-60 soon 🙏
Since my wife will be driving this for 3 years, I'll definitely do a few more videos, and 0-60 will be on there. Stay tuned!
@@radridesbyehsanshirazi8779 Woohoo
@@brayan03 right on!
Nice review but I believe the fender’s vents are for looking, they not functional :).
I thought they were functional since they have slits in them, and it seems that it's connected to the braking system for channeling away the hot air from the bakes.
I'm the market for a blue one! How much did you spend?
I bought it for $30K. This is a little higher than what I wanted to originally spend but it was a dealer maintained, no modification, 1-owner car, zero accidents and its whole life was in Southern California (no rust to worry about) with 108K miles. Hence, I paid the premium. Good luck with your search Diego👍
That sounds like a steal from the prices I’ve seen. Nice job
@@Iskateminilogo Thank you man! I couldn't resist it due to the factors I mentioned. We love it so far especially my wife that rarely drives it.
08-14
Yes, they were made from 2008-2014 but very few in 2014.
@@radridesbyehsanshirazi8779 I have a 2014 :)
@@Kamfidence nice man. The last year of these beasts😁
The isf spanked the m3 and destroy the c63 amg around the track in its days
I didn't know this, but I love it. I always liked how reliable Lexus/Toyota are, especially the older ones. The idea of making high-performance cars like Supra, IS-F, LFA, RC-F, GS-F... from a conservative brand like Toyota/Lexus is amazing and exciting. Thanks for sharing this important info🙏
@@radridesbyehsanshirazi8779 very well said and I agree. You’re welcome
@@lexusrcf2441 you bet!
Great car but it loses points for not being orange
Well, as I mentioned, it's for my wife and blue happens to be my son's favorite color. You know the saying, happy wife = happy life😉. Thanks for watching it and glad you liked it👍
@@radridesbyehsanshirazi8779 a wise man in colombia told me no wife happy life.. almost the same right 🤣
@@iddicted lol. I like what the wise man said and that's specially true when I was in my 20's... Good old days!
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him shall not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16 KJV, Jesus Christ is the only way.........
I couldn't agree more with you on that. However, what is your opinion regarding this video?
