Automotive engineer here, I really don't recommend the lightweight harmonic dampers. The OEM dampers cancel out almost all secondary vibrations the motor produces, and if these vibrations are not cancelled out (like with an incorrectly weighted damper) you can see very rapid bearing wear within the motor potentially leading to a catastrophic failure.
A Harmonic Damper pulley (harmonic balancer) is a crank pulley that is designed to absorb and cancel out any unessesary vibrations. Its also made out of a really absorbant plastic called "elastomer rubber".
I made that suggestion just incase if anyone doesn't want to deal with the long term affects of a LW crank pulley. (Pros of the LWCP: cheap, easy to install, noticable gains and faster acceleration. Cons of the LWCP: frequencies of vibrations are not absorbed through out the rev range and could potentially damage parts of your engine) (Pros of the DCP: cancels out unessesary vibration, stablizes crankshaft timing, produces more power for your engine compaired to a lightweight crank pulley , easy to install, faster acceleration and gives longer engine life. Cons of DCP: expensive and rubber material deteriorates over time.
M Sanchez yea dude I had a regular Jetta 2008 I think crash that snapped the axle the got an Eos VW for a low low price thinking I could modify that it’s crazy cause it’s a 2.0 cylinder it’s sound good ash but not worth to get modified ppl out here charge wayy to much
Jantz R z I’m thinking on putting sum wheels on it and lowering it lol I have a aftermarket bumper with aftermarket headlights and it just looks so clean the car just wants to go it’s been through so much and still going strong I’m happy to say it’s probably the best first car to own been driving it since 14 now I’m 16 and they are not that hard to work on.
I have a 1.4 tfsi. It is all the power I need. It 1.4 has a couple extras 6 speed gear box. computer upgrade, pushing 140 up. Up to 45 mpg. Sway bar, cold air. He is my baby boy...there are loads of BMW’s and Mercedes also. People love their BMW’s here. I alway will be v5, also have a 19 Passat, the Jetta is more fun. next going to drop 2 inches. Vw Audi parts are not to expensive. I live in uk. If there are any parts you find expensive
I agree the LW crank pulley indeed does incresse whp but it also free's up a little bit of hp and torque due to less rotational mass, and weight entirely. The LW pulley in terms of power is not a noticable gain the only thing you would notice is throttle response and your increased acceleration. This mod again doesnt give your car HUGE gains but its a cheap mod that can get you somwhere:)

Hey brother, how are you? I'm from Brazil, and I have a Jetta MK5 08/09. I'm looking for modifications to the instrument panel, do you think the Jetta MK6 is compatible? Or, also, do you have any indication of a panel that looks cool? I am accepting suggestions. Thank you in advance, hugs!
Yes, pretty much all the parts that i mentioned are compatible with the Jetta MK6. Except the IE Intake Manifold since the mk6 has a steering pump right beside the manifold unfortunately
Why is this dude giving advice on something he knows nothing to lil about. Smh .. Say what you mean, mean what u say... But I appreciate your time , research and enthusiasm sir !!
If your engine light s is on check your oil or see if there are any misfires. I wouldnt recommend replacing your engine since it can cost 1k - 1.5k to buy plus it can take a lot of time. So yeah i would start off with these mods first.
Make sure there isn’t a vacuum leak in your air intakes if the plastic is old It’ll crack. Next time you drive and come back home put a piece of cardboard under the engine and later check the cardboard for any oil.
This is my oldest video. I was 14 and had less experience. I was going off of what i read from the websites ive searched the parts on. Anyway thanks for commenting:)
Dude you really need to get better at talking, all the "erms" and just basically taking ages to spit out a sentence is infuriating. Also the lightweight pully and coil packs makes almost zero difference at all.
You're a idiot the 2.5 is not direct injection. Jeez
Yes it has direct injection:)
And no need to be salty:)
Also VW has been utilizing Direct injection since 2006 btw
@@Siriusgxmiq 2.5 is port injected, not direct injection.
Its not port injected, i just looked it up the 3rd time now

Is that the light weight underdrive pulley wdym harmonic damper

Man that cold air intake looks hella nice
Well put together video bro
Crank pulleys can throw off the harmonics off
Im buyin a 06 jetta 2.5 its clean just highway km
How have I not seen this video? I have a Mk5 Jetta too. I have 2.0T FSI Wolfsburg Edition
I have one too I have a 2008 Wolfsburg what have you done. To the car so far?
pulley isnt gonna do anything except possibly more whp but the motor itself will not produce any more torque or power.

I like the video, but the music while you’re talking is hard to focus.
Agreed. The music drastically takes away from the overall quality of the video, especially while he is speaking.

Got a build process on my mk6 Jetta on my channel
Very odd engine in a mk5.
Yeah its different compaired to the other models.
nice
What is the name from this dirt cover on the tires? 2:49
Extensa NP. They look nice right!
Jantz R where i can find this i search for extensa np but i dont can find it

What are the torque specs for the lightweight underdrive pulley?
Around 95 foot pounds
Does it have to be exact? i don’t want to have it breaking or failing cuz of under-tightening or over-tightening
Yes it does have to be exact.
@@Siriusgxmiq Is it 95 exact or can i find the specs in the owner's manual? I can't find it online anywhere. I have the MK5 2.5L
You can check in the owners manual but i would also check some online forums as well

@@40thaerx87 that too
Mk5 has a problem with the coils causing the engine to misfire if you push the gas a lil and feel a shake that’s most likely the problem
Is this engine the same as the 2013 Passat 2.5?
Yes
Would’ve been a good video but your intro is just too long
A 7 second is too long? dang! Might as well make a 2.5 second intro🤷. Otherwise thanks for watching:)
Oh wait- this is my old video from years ago🤣
I want one so bad
I hydroplaned mine and totaled it. 😔
Damn! im sorry to hear that😔. Did you get a chance to get someone to fix it?
@@Siriusgxmiq Nope 😔 I took the insurance and bought an ‘06 CR-V instead.
This is dumb… first mod should be an ECU upgrade. Best bang for the buck for a turbo engine.
