If you want pops and bangs I recommend Malone tuning stage 1.5 w/pops. It's ridiculously awesome as soon as you let off the throttle. Sucks that you have to pay to go back to stock in order to pass inspection and pay to flash back to the tune after... If you want power and pops with IE tuning, you need stage 1 w/transmission tune unless you drive stick. Get a usp high flow downpipe with only a catback exhaust to the back. Sounds fucking awesome. You can flash back to stock whenever you want. Recommend IE tuning.
sounds good!...here's whats happening: N/A naturally aspirated...just excess air cus of the intake, MAF is tune to compensate and allow thru excess air and the fuel to also compensate, thus..some nice pops and crackles here and there that are enjoyable. The drawback?? Fuel efficiency.. would've been fine to get extra air for some boost, but since the fuel was remapped with it in the AFR, you just lost maybe about 30-50 something in gas mileage. Slapping on a turbo is also possible and works better, since they balance intake air on a "see-saw" with expelling exhaust. Eventually you'll have to decide.. either more speed? or enjoyable sound?... My opinion: REMAP it... adjust the boost control to set-values of AFR each gear ratio and leave it.
I actually didn't notice a difference in gas milage, I'm still pretty spot on with the factory fuel economy even with 30mm wider contact patch on all four corners. Also, not worth to turbo, better off just buying a better car lmao (which is what I did)
I have a mk6 Jetta and I can’t recommend it enough! All you need is a device compatible with windows 10 I believe. So easy and make a huge difference over stock. The car is a lot more fun and the COA and cat back compliment it 😌
Nice vid , bruh! 😂 I wonder what the difference is now with your gas mileage. I averaged only 22 or maybe 23 on my mk 5 rabbit 5-speed with the 2.5. if I can keep my foot out of it what will happen to my MPG?
Actually thinking about getting a 2.5 Jetta for under 4k and use it as a daily (replace my apr stage 1 mk7 gti) and keep miles low. Then do simple bolt ons like you did. I'd just do a muffler since it's pretty loud.
Same car, 2010 model with the SEL package..too bads its DCT but its still fun. Looking to do the same..Starting wit the IE intake as the stock air system is awful, and with the money spent might just go straight to the stage 2 tune including the trans tune..I won't ever rev it that high though anyhow,,just want to add the claimed 50hp with IE intake and exhaust like yours. I bought mine in mint condition but with a bum engine...stole it really..They never put the right oil in it, or ever changed it,,,easy highway miles only...I got the 17K mile engine and DSG together for 1500 and the car for 1800 not running..can't beat that...its alot of fun just stock..Love the sound and torque of the little 2.5 5 cylinder.
I have a 2.5 Mk6 Jetta with AWE track cat back, but the thing is, it’s auto... (I know). I’m planning on getting a CAI soon. I want the pops just like you do you think I’ll get them? I drive it using the tiptronic so I can make it stay in gear like u do
Yeah, try and get the tcu tune too, I barely got any pops before the tune. I think with the tune they add extra fuel and retard timing when you let off so it makes the pops, but I’m not sure how loud they would be with a full exhaust.
No I have a manual, I was talking about your statement of wanting a better transmission feel. Before ecu tune, barely any pops, after, it happens every time I let off for about 4 secs. No exhaust modifications besides cutout.
Yo can I get a clip of what it sounds like from outside the car? I’m going stage 1 but don’t know whether to keep one resonator on or not. I’m currently no muffler and one resonator. Debating on taking out the second for tune
what exhaust do you have? i got a mk6 with a mid muffler delete and i still get pops and gurgles just not as loud. i really noticed them with a straight pipe.
Hey, can you say that there is a negative side in getting this stage 1 tune? Like it's less healthy for the engine maybe? I want to get this tune in future but I fear it will be not healthy for the engine
Just let your car warm up and change the oil at most every 5000 miles and I use currently castrol edge 5w30 but royal purple hps and mobil 1 5w30 is also pretty decent. Use high octane gas and I still see no side effects from the tune from 90k to 106k and still running strong.
It definitely turns off rev hang, but unfortunately it did not turn off the rev limiter in neutral, there may have been a setting that I missed however because I have heard that it works for others
I mean, all the parts that I have done are on the channel playlist under 'car videos'. If you want, I can break down everything, but you'll have to give me some time. Or I can do a cost break down video?
Conor Stoneman yeah a cost breakdown video would be cool and helpful cuz I want to mod my mkv 2.5 but don’t know exactly where to start and what I should do
It's an ECS Tuning exhaust cutout, basically an exhaust bypass. It operates with a switch to switch between stock exhaust and the bypass. I have a few videos on my channel about it.
Depends on how much $400 bucks is worth to you. Didn’t make a huge difference but definitely noticeable in terms of throttle response and mid range torque
Each car has different generations, this is why you may see the same looking car for 5-6 years from a manufacture. In this case, this is the 5th generation of the jetta and is called by many as the mark 5, (instead of generation) which is shortened to "mk" for mark and the roman numeral "V" for 5
first person to see do a review on this, love the vid
Thats why I did it lol. Thanks btw!
No sir give my video from almost 3 years ago a look, nice video though
Sounds so sick. Guess I’m going stage 1 lol
Just got a stage 1 done on my mk 5 07 Jetta! Shes pullinggg, just waiting for my Borla exhaust kit to come in :)
How are you liking it? I want to go stage 1 as well

Would I need a transmission tune if I get the Malone tune ?
@@luisvargas7630 I used the IE transmission tune for it and worked fine. I would not do the higer rpm tune but the regular tune worked fine.
@@PLAYANAWF what do you mean by high rpm tune? Sorry, this is all new to me so I do apologies if this is a dumb question

Totally agree!
what system or app is being used from the laptop?
I have this tune on my rabbit. Has a very similar product, sounds great!
That engine braking is cause they eliminate rev hang

Man I really want to do this to mine I was just looking into it thanks for this vid👍
Thank you for posting this, im tuning my jetta soon too
At what rpm do you redline after the tune or does it remain the same?
I believe they increase to 6800 (from 6500) I don’t bang rev limiter so I don’t really notice

how long to be exact did this tune take ???
Only like 5-10 mins to install. Depends on WiFi speed

have you installed an exhaust ? or just cold air intake ? and where did you buy the tun from ??
It’s an exhaust cutout. Short ram air intake from neuspeed. It’s all on the channel

What exhaust/ exhaust mod do you have on the car? And where did you buy the tune from?

How did you get your exhaust to burble and pop?
the tune + exhaust cutout
Did mk5 with 2.5 engine come with 4motion spec? Cant finde any info if mk5’s did come with 4motion.
I think the some of the golfs did but I’m not certain
Vosski Bosski no MKV jetta or gold from North America came with 4motion. Only the golf r32 with the vr6 came with 4motion

Yes.

Sony Xav-ax10bt
You have to get some trim pieces around most head units to suit flush with the center console
