      So would you recommend getting the stage 1 without the trans tune?

    • @psiturbo
      @psiturbo Год назад

      @@candyman9816 the trans tune is for Stage 2, changes clutch pressure plate.
      One can go full bolt ons, fmic, downpipe, intake, and no need for IE transmission tune.
      Stage 1 can be had alone.
      You must do IE transmission tune, is mandatory, with a Stage 2 for trans to withstand the extra new power.

      The main thing stage one tune does is get rid of rev hang. Which you won’t notice as much in an automatic. You’re missing a pedal.

      @@GezzyVR :D good luck with that! It seems like some are popping up on ebay for a little less... but not much. If/when you try it, I suggest making sure you have a REALLY LONG hex key on hand (really long meaning like 2-3 feet). That last bolt is a bugger. But I will tell you, it sounds like you have most of the goodness of the sound from the CAI now.... the manifold will give you a bit more pull at the really high rpm... you are more than halfway there. :)

I'll keep an eye out on fb market place and ebay for those and I appreciate the tips!! I really like how the 2.5 sounds with the Cai and exaust mods so I can't wait to upgrade it in the future! :)

      @@vrtxs1938 Yes I am asking alot for my transmission but they can withhold around 250hp stock without any upgrades to them. My car has a stock transmission with 144k miles on it and I haven't had any issues with it. If it does end up blowing up, I plan on manual swapping it bc I've always wanted a manual jetta :)

      @@GezzyVR what many tend to forget is the DSG uses a flywheel clutch that will start to make shatter noise and usually starts at around 150k miles, happens because of excessive wear.

    Theres only a few reason to tune a 2.5L engine. First is your cluster is crapping out and you need your immo removed for a replacement so mght as well add a few hp with a stage 1 tune. Secondly is you have the money to make a 2.5L fast and by that I mean you understand the investment to get 300hp or more. If neither or those are in your wheelhouse then do routine maintenance add a nice sound system and cruise it for life. Anything else and youre pissing away money for next to nothing gains for a power package that get you to the base figures of a 1.8t or 2.0t not including extra for the dsg tune. A expensive intake manifold bolt-ons and stg 2 ecu tunes for this motor wont get you anything but a empty wallet.
