Got a mkv 2.5 sportwagen new to me with 75000 mile. I had throtle tune . Cold air intake.. deleted vacum pump ..wheels. now has 250000+ miles...drive like a madman.
MkV Sage Rabbit 160K miles. I put some coilovers and 18" rims with low profile tires (nitrogen not air filled) for a stiffer ride but amazing run-flat like handling if they blow. I had a tire blow out the sidewall at 70mph and it didn't even swerve. LEDs for sure, I love the all-red interior, so cozy at night. The cabin air goes from fresh to re-circ when you back up...
The Aluminium control arms and steering knuckles from a Passat can be had cheap from your local puller salvage yard. I snagged the entire setup for my MKV Jetta for $215 total.
Love the work man. I've had my Mk. 8 since January, but my heart will forever belong to the Mk. 5's 😪 5cyls are cool as hell too. You don't see too many still kicking around. Glad you're doing her right 🔥
Ima need that tune, watching your video just made me realize I got a performance cat when I saw that photo. Mines was stolen and I didn’t read the description of it until now 😅
love the content! my dad just got a '13 golf tdi based on your advice, and ive been looking at another vw and looking at the 2.5l's. seeing a vid on it is much appreciated
Running my mk5 with a stage 1 ie tune and a catback exhaust system pushing around 200hp, fun off the line but not very fast once u get to 3rd gear or so
@@eurodriven2507dang, I ask just because for a while, maybe 500 miles or so with that intake I was fine and dandy. But all of a sudden got a fuel system lean code with it and can’t figure out why. I’ve put the stock one on again and that light never comes
Hell yea bro I had a cobalt SS them is heat🔥 but mines was automatic and it could beat most cars cuz of my intake I suggest u get he manual version of the cobalt of u cant find it then just get the VW rabbit 2.5 thats the one i have rn and its manual i missed my cobalt tho
@@kidmods If you haven't already watched, check out my buyers guide and "hidden gem" videos on the 2.5. This was my GF's first car of her own. My brother's second car is a 2.5 Jetta wagon (first was a Mk4 wagon). They're very good first cars. Not too fussy, inexpensive, but will give you enough to learn the basics with.
All those little touches made this video a joy to watch.

Did the dashboard storage tray in my TDI Cup years ago. One of my favorites as well.

Great video man. Gave me a real insight on all the things I can do on my rabbit
Love seeing videos giving the mk5 rabbit some love!
Also have you ever gotten a check engine light for running lean when running that neuspeed intake?
No CEL because of the intake, but I know some have issues with shorter intake systems.

What he say about the rims? Anyone
Got a rabbit with 340k miles on it, has a few goodies but nothing to special lol
In stuck in between a cobalt SS or this
in my opinion, I would get one of these, 5 cylinder german engineering, not many more chances to get your hands on something like that I feel.
Vw 2.5 is more reliable
if you want something quicker for less get the cobalt. if you want reliability get the golf.

I am a Chevy guy and own. A rabbit as well I suggest one of these much chesper
Does the passat control arms fit the same generation jettas and golfs?
@@thewrxshop8213 Yep, B6 and NMS Passat control arms fit the PQ35 (MK5/MK6) cars.
Should i get a 2.5 as a first car?

@@eurodriven2507 bro I just checked auto trader and Facebook market place they don't have the 2.5 I'm so sad 😔
