I think it is a safety feature. The blade falls off when what you are spinning is not defrosted enough. Happens mostly when the liquid separates as it freezes- leaving the ice layer at the bottom of the container. We’ve used our creami every day for a year. Waiting at least 10mins before spinning has been best. Fantastic machines! 😋
Looking forward to just a simple milkshake outside while grilling this summer.
Very doable!
Love this. Y’all should sell a cremi intro sampler pack with some of these ingredients for all the new owners out there looking to experiment!
We are not Creami retailers so we can't sell Creamis but you can certainly get our frozen treats sampler pack: modernistpantry.com/products/frozen-treats-combo-pack.html
Yes. Please do tests on savoury stuff. you would have an edge to other content as well
Stay tuned!
I've thought about getting one of these for a while now. Probably will be getting one now.
Enjoy!
Looking to make Thai milk tea slushies. It's been over 98f this week in Australia!
That sounds amazing!
Thank you for all your work! I am new to your channel and am looking forward to trying the products. I would love to make a matcha in coconut milk drink, it's my favorite unsweetened. Take care!
Welcome!
Would like to try more mocktails and coffee drinks. The dark and stormy is a favorite here in California.
Sounds great, enjoy!
Hello our price Amazon Canada ranges from $226 to $329 for the Creami, delivery May 17-23. the deluxe model $600 delivery June 9-19. Definitely not a $50 difference.
We don’t track specific pricing at specific stores in other countries.
I wish the machine would just do two spins automatically.
The big issue with the creami is vibration/shaking causing the blade to hit the side of the container and shaving off thin plastic pieces. There really really should have been a recall, it's not safe.
The new one you can see is actually much more stable and does not shake.
@@Modernist_Pantry yeah but launching a new model instead of recalling and fixing the original product has a really bad vibe
yeah i had to send my original one back for that. I give the replacement a firm grounding grip when it's running and it hasn't happened since. Definitely the kind of bad design you'd expect from a first draft.
Thank you for the review! I really miss cherry slushies (almost no one carries them anymore and the sugar-free versions use crappy ingredients) I would love to make a healthy flavourful sugar-free cherry slushie.
This would probably be a great machine to help you do this!
You could make one with a Vitamix.
@@shaniballard8494 You can and they are delicious!! :)
@@shaniballard8494what a pity, I only have a blendtec. I once thought they’re as good as vitamix but boy was I wrong 😑 they’re NOT
maybe a frozen iced cappuccino would be cool to make with this
For sure!
I always loved the Mudslide. But then anything with Chocolate is a winner. :-)
Agreed!
A raspberry daiquiri from fresh raspberries (which I can’t seem to ever get a solid raspberry experience from) but using fruit powder in addition to fresh for the wow factor. ❤
Sounds great!
I’m looking forward to summer margaritas!
Us too!
The same thing happened with our original. Unfortunately the machine continued to spin, melted the connection point on the blade, smoking and sending black flecks into the ice cream. Ninja has been good about replacing it(was under warranty) hoping it doesn't happen again, because we LOVE our creami
Glad they took care of it!
4:26 I would be careful with eating this due to possible plastic mixed in during the blade failure.
We love our Deluxe - made the gelato and it was amazing! I love the idea of coffee/ice cream mixes - and my husband is pushing for me to try making a Blizzard with cheesecake bits - sorry DQ!
That is awesome!
Hey Janine congrats on winning this week's giveaway! Reach out to us at service@modernistpantry.com to claim your frozen treats combo pack 🤓
I would be curious about how reliable the machines are. I have a Ninja blender and it's held up pretty well for me.
Next we're going to do some stress testing.
If I had a Ninja Creami I’d be tempted to make a protein shake Creamiccino to shake up my usual protein shake routines
That's a great idea!
For the frozen drinks, use the alcohol like an add in? Could one do that with the original machine?
In the new machine it's all frozen together. The original has a few settings for frozen liquids but it's not designed for it. You can certainly try
I am shocked that Modernist Pantry doesn’t carry maltose! (When you need browning without adding sweetness)
maybe in the future!
Does the deluxe so Italian ices well? I'm also interested in trying cream ices (at least what it'd be known as around New York at Ralphs, it's pretty much sherbet afaik).
It does do ices.
Would straight up use it to make some margaritas at home. Five minutes isn’t bad for that.
Enjoy!
Would love to see how to make a soup in it!
Stay tuned!
Make some margaritas, I'm headed over.
Great idea!
How fast is the deluxe compared to the pacojet?
It would be longer since you need a minimum of 2 spins in order to get good ice cream. With the Pacojet you need only 1 spin.
Is there a way to make carbonated frozen drinks?
Not in this machine.
I think an immersion blender would replace that huge clunker
Between owning a blander and a stick blender you could make all the same drinks, especially since this isn’t even a real ice cream maker
Yes please make savory things in it !
Already on it!
@@Modernist_Pantry Pate !
Coffee moka smoothie and pumpkin pie smoothie
yum!
I want to make dole whip!
Love dole whip!
Ninja just doesn't stop. They just released another one earlier this week called the Creami Breeze
will have to check it out!
In the UK they just released yet another one called the Ninja Mr creami super deluxe xl Max with smart whippy capabilities.
@@impairedspoons9934 oh good grief! lol!
@@impairedspoons9934wasn’t able to find this model tbh
Oh...and of course a frozen margarita!
Yup!
Do you get alot more volume with the deluxis it worth it from the origin or is it not that much difference
The Deluxe does have a bigger cup - 3 cup versus 2 cups in the original. If you're going through ice cream really fast then it's worth it.
It the frozen yogurt button unique to the deluxe?
Yes it is.
@@Modernist_Pantry Dumb question-- but what does the yogurt setting do that the other machines can't do I wonder. The grinding mechanism goes down just the same right?
I want to make a frozen margarita with Lychee liqore
yum!
Sweet, waiting for summer drinks
These machines are just very loud drill presses
🤣
It's funny how the paco jet literally started as a drill press😂
Now I’m instantly thinking about how I can build this with my drill press 😂
I still can't understand how this ever passed the food safety board tests. The shaft attached to the blade enters all the ice-cream and goes back into the machine and never gets cleaned! Just an infection disaster in the long run for all users
Could you fill a canister with soap and water and run a cycle? That’s how I clean my blender.
I would like to see that
Frozen margaritas!
yum!
I would make an alcoholic chocolate malt :)
Yum!
PLEASE DO THE MOUSSE AND STRESS TEST!!!!!
stay tuned... coming soon
WTF? Does Marc Maron know about this?
Thinking about buying one of these. Sam's has the 305 on sale for $120, and it comes with 3 extra canisters. Amazon has the Deluxe for $230. Only 2 canisters but it would work out to the same volume as the "original". So, for $110 more I can make all of the drinks that I would love to do...but dang...at nearly double the price!
I would prefer the Deluxe - duh - but I think you've convinced me that the $120 model is probably a better deal.
