When slave masters were there and treated us like animals and gave us scraps to eat, we found ways to cook it and make it taste better than what anyone else was eating. That's why we have a lot of stews/soups, originally making the most of the scraps we were given.
In Ghana we eat corn with coconut the exact same way! But then again Ghanaians and Jamaicans are practically the same people...Their national hero Queen Nanny (aka nana) of the maroons and her brothers are from the akan tribe in present day ghana
prince Gifted no it’s not true because the country Ghana did not exist back then. However, Warring tribes sold one another, since each tribe viewed themselves as distinct nations based of language and culture and not race the way the french view themselves apart from the germans.
The Caribbean has awesome awesome soups. Whether it's cow foot/heel soup, chicken foot soup, mannish water, etc. The broth always has a tremendous depth of flavour and a silkiness that's very enticing. Using certain parts of the animal that are very high in collagen, gelatin, and marrow give the soup such incredible flavour.

When slave masters were there and treated us like animals and gave us scraps to eat, we found ways to cook it and make it taste better than what anyone else was eating. That's why we have a lot of stews/soups, originally making the most of the scraps we were given.
FACTSSSS!!!!
really when were you a slave.

One thing everyone should know about Jamaicans. If we were to die and came back to this world. We would never be any other but 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲.
Amen, 🇯🇲 for life
🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲 bap bap no other way!
That's cos it's all you know and are used to. Not necessarily cos it's ''the best''. Just saying.
Honestly feel that way.
@@african-history-fountain it's not all I know in my fourth country. Still feel that way.
In Ghana we eat corn with coconut the exact same way! But then again Ghanaians and Jamaicans are practically the same people...Their national hero Queen Nanny (aka nana) of the maroons and her brothers are from the akan tribe in present day ghana
Roni very interesting.. is it true that you guys sold us to the white man to be shipped to the west as slave.
Hmmm! Interesting
@@princeburgess yes they did
Sheee Stew m.ruclips.net/video/bURDnfcINLA/видео.html Here is a video with further details of all our similarities
prince Gifted no it’s not true because the country Ghana did not exist back then. However, Warring tribes sold one another, since each tribe viewed themselves as distinct nations based of language and culture and not race the way the french view themselves apart from the germans.
WOW!! We eat corn and coconut as well in eastern Nigeria (IGBO)!! GREETINGS TO MY JAMAICAN BRETHREN!
I'm Jamaican and the reaction on his face when he tasted the Red Peas Soup was priceless. That's why we have soup Wednesdays my friend, enjoy!
Brian Campbell Bredda you know from when mi wah si how Mark Mek up him face pan fi wi peppah 😂
Hi brian... How r u?
Yo when him taste it mi feel jealous yo
