What is the deal with Link?
Storm stomp can have a delayed effect depending on whether they stagger immediately or if they run into it. If its a delayed stagger then you can get slower attacks off.
Makes sense, kind of like Flaming strike 👍
The Banished Knight’s Halberd is such a beautifully designed weapon
it suffers from low quality textures though

Finally!!!! This halberd is amazing on ANY build! One of my favorite weapons! At 50 INT cold infused, you can get 124 frost buildup
Exactly what I did with mine. Loretta-based Mage Knight build was my endgame build
Yeah, I love this thing. I used it as main main weapon on my first playthrough (cold infused, ice spear, int build, 60 int for "that one spell") and it was great. I also used it to beat Malenia on my faith build (flame infused with Flame of Redmanes) because Zweihander didn't cut it for me on that fight, and I still use it as a secondary weapon on that build. It's kinda hard to use any other halberd, that one is great no matter what build I'm running. And halberds have great moveset, the only part I'm not a fan of is the fully-charged two handed heavy.
Banished Knight's Halberd and Nightrider Glaive are two of my go to weapons, Flaming Strike and Sword Dance work really well in pve and pvp. The Nightrider Glaive with Giant Hunt or Sword Dance does an insane amount of damage.
Agreed I personally think it's the most underrated halberd especially because it has a quick poke for it's main attack
So Chase, now that we're 103 episodes deep, are there any weapons you've showcased that have surprised you enough to work into your usual rotation of weapons?
From watching his stream in invasions - no. He sticks to his normal catalogue of weapons and doesn’t deviate much.

Chase started to use Dual wield weapons, like 2 halberds or 2 great swords because of the showcase.
I recommend St Trina's Torch for it is ungrounded

10:32 It probably only works when you hit with the later part of the storm stomp animation, instead of hitting on the first possible frame. The result is that you recover sooner(relatively speaking), allowing for some combos that wouldn't normally link.

Man Link has gotten better and better. The fight was exciting, but any mistake with Chase is freaking painful. He did specially good with Halberd Chase. Which this version and Spears are probably Super Saiyan God.
Chase the Banished Bro! I love the design of this halberd, easily one of my favorite designs in the game.
All of the Banished Knight items look great, honestly. You just can't go wrong with any of it!
i love this weapon so much because you can use it for absolute any build. I have it on an arcane build and getting the samish AR as I would with Keen with Occult. The moveset is perfect and can carry you the entire game. Love glintstone pebble with a cold infusion.
I have to thank you for these showcase. PVP wise I've way better in duels do to your in depth explanation of the moveset and your invasions and duels for situational uses. Hell it has help in the pvp aspect. You are the Elden Ring Yoda.
Surprised he didn’t mention it’s the weapon he did a good chunk of his first play through with (and beat M)
Storm Stomp does true-combo into a light attack, yes, even a double attack if you're dual wielding. This makes it one of the strongest Ashes in the game
I’m not sure if you have done it but I would love to see an Alabaster Lord’s Sword video and here is why!-
I found out that the heavy attack and especially the two handed heavy attack has a much higher damage multiplier than other weapons. The MV is higher and I tested it myself. This can potentially combo with the weapon art too. I can’t remember if a regular heavy is boosted too, it might be a bit. It’s 50% more powerfully than other weapons charged heavy attacks from my testing.
It’s fun but because people thought this weapons was just straight up outclasses but it has this hidden feature that’s really cool. It’s gimmicky in pvp but it’s legitimately a fantastic hidden perk in pve.
Such a missed opportunity to use Storm Assault. That weapon art is toooooo good.

@@mudkippl naw storm assault is slept on. If u get someone to trade with the wind from the jump it true combos the plunge for a shit tone of dmg. Plus if you miss, the wind lingers long enough to protect you and do decent dmg for basically nothing
It really is, I wish it had the Storm Stomp and Spinning attacks before you launch into the air like the Banished Knights do, but it is a good Ash of War.
One thing to note about storm stomp: the later into the animation that it hits, the more frame advantage you have. That means if it hits late in the animation (like if they tried to roll into it) then you can get a better hit, such as that L1. Also, certain moves will hit anyways if the enemy doesn't buffer their roll out of it, just like the L1 you hit on that one guy.
Chase, stormcaller can poise through any weapon except possibly heavy attacks from colossal class weapons. It even out poises and takes priority over a stormstomp attack.
I think the L1 only combos with storm stomp if you hit them with the lingering hitbox of storm stomp, maybe if it hits right away it won’t combo?
it seems if storm stomp hit him near the end of the animation you can get a true combo
if you use a projectile on one of your weapons it often gets people to be more agro so thats a good time to get them to trade into storm caller

Hey, Chase. Don't know if you'll see this, but what do you think of the Miquellan Knight Sword? It's my personal favorite sword visually, and it goes with plenty of armor sets.
I heard that smirk when you said 69 strength.
Thats by far my favourite weapon and did my first playthrough with it.
you should try using black flame tornado ash of war next time showcasing a twin blade. One of the most devestating ash of wars with really good range
In my experience most people dodge the L1 after storm stomp, I think yours was confirmed due to your enemy rolling into it and being hit late into the lingering hitbox, something I'll remember going forwards since it is a nice increase to damage.
I have picked up this halberd as well and wanted to see if Stormcaller had the same stunlock potential as Thunderstorm (stormhawk axe AoW). Sadly it does not, but I've caught plenty of opponents into the stormcaller because they thought I was done when, in fact, I was not. So, all in all, I recommend this Ash of War to use when you have an aggressive opponent, as it seems to have hyper-armor frames on the start-up of the consecutive L2 presses.

Stormcaller and Storm assault need buffing
I have alot of success with the Storm Caller AoW. Good for low poise enemies and you can delay the 2nd and 3rd part of the AoW just long enough to make them think you finished
Easily the most versatile weapon.
Ok and for vacuum slice… its a pain in the ass to land… buuuuuut i faced someone using that collasal greatsword that shoots out all the purple crystals and i had a meme battle w them… it is the same moveset, and a good one to keep on hand to use against that weapon, and also against spells that keep users stuck in animations…so vacuum slice aow is tough to land naturally, but pretty much a guarenteed hit against long spell/weapon animations. Food for thought!

I would like to see the Carian knight sword being showcased, it's such a cool looking weapon. Perhaps with a staff on the off hand, because i don't think i have ever seen you play like this. It's either two-hand, dual wield, sword and board or pure wizard

(Weapon Showcase Ep.48)" in the comments you will find the timestamp to his only loss in the series if I remember correctly. He has had some ties as well though and he avenged his loss. He also stated in a livestream that he posts all the duels and invasions iirc.

I was thinking of making a axe build, but i never see anyone using axes. Only greataxes
The fact that Stormcaller doesn't have any hyper armor is wild.
I really like that skill along with thunderstorm from the stormhawk axe, it annoys me that one has insane hyper armor and stunlocking and the other has neither

If youre a spellblade so into dex banished helberd is your best weapon when infused int it get 700+ ar with 60int 35 dex and 800 plus if you use the 3 min magic damage flask.
Gotta use the spinning strikes ash of war, the follow up light and heavy attacks are really cool and good

I think you misunderstood ash stormcaller. It is better to use it in the exchange of blows. In this case, he manages to demolish the balance and carry out several blows. With frost hardening, the damage is good.
Is there a place for guard counters in pvp or are they just too easy to avoid/punish?
So easy to avoid, unless you fight multiple people and take the hit form one and aim the guard counter to the other. Only way i see this working. Otherwise is very easy to dodge

The un-altered helm looks so much better. Some of the cooler knights in the game if you ask me.
Every opponent that chase fights either doesnt have their weapon max upgraded (cuz they do little damage to chase) or they have like 40 vigor and chase does a lot of damage to them.
I don't even use any smithing stones until Altus Plateau. I just make sure to complete Irina's quest at Morne's Castle then skip to.Liurnia and go the the Revenger's Shack get invaded and win. Then you got a Banished Knights Halberd level 8 and endless stones lol

I'm not ashamed to say this was my weapon all throughout my first playthrough, killed pretty much every boss but Malenia with it... until I swapped it out for Loretta's Warsickle. I used Loretta's Slash on the weapon as part of my Mage Knight build. I may have stolen Edgar's head, Grape, and +8 weapon through not-so-friendly means.
It has a great moveset, reach, damage. I mean it has very if any weakness. It's an overall super solid weapon.
@@makunoichi12 My original plan was to get the Petal Whips, after I found out whips existed in the game cuz they just looked cool, but they were a long way off and I decided 'You know what? I'm used to these, i'll do that NG+ or something'

Nomming the Carian Knight’s Sword. Straight up inferior to a magic infused Long Sword but it’d be interesting to see someone make use of the ash of war in PvP.
Saint_Riot has a ton of videos with pvp and he uses the entire Carian Knight set up. The Ash of War does really well in pvp but Saint is on Chase's level of skill. Plus he's a very weird funny dude. I highly recommend his channel. It's up there with Oroboro, Chase, and Lost.

I don't think you have showcased Marika's Hammer yet, if you have two of them it has a pretty cool moveset. The range isn't the best, but the Ash of War has a ton of Hyper Armor and has good AOE potential. Just throwing that out there for a recommendation.

Easy, he collects all he can and make a backup save, so when he runs out of ancient stones and larvla tears he just resets the save

i founded 1 of your fans with the banished knight halbert,he was using the armor set that u used, the one with the malenia helmet
that set is really good for poise and defense if you like to change around between (mostly) strength weapons. i use the same but change the helmet for the drip points
I've also been """"trying"""" to find something similar that uses different armor sets but no luck so far

I found this stick while my main stickwas he golden tree sentinel stick.
Now i use this as my left hand stick. So i can buff myself and use both sticks.
