Unsheathe is so strong just imagine if they decided to give a long range magic attack with it as well. Luckily fromsoft would never do something like that.
The person you fought at around 10:47 gave you such a close fight haha. The fights that end with both people barely having any hp are the best ones imo.
This series is great! You should try out some whips, even if they aren't meta (fire giant's braid and magma whip). Another cool weapon you could try would be the sword of milos, you could use the regal omen bairn with it for a dung eater cosplay!
Unsheath is just so good. I miss the katana parry though, even if I was absolute t r a s h at pulling it off... Kinda makes we wish there were a couple more 'normal' katanas instead of so many magical ones. OH MY GOD ONE HEALTH, HOW DOES THAT EVEN HAPPEN!? At that point I'd have just thrown a knife! Props to that guy for not only more-or-less winning the duel, but not going for the e z finisher there, too!
Fun Fact: Offhand wakizashi will power stance with any katana. Hope to see a mixed weapon showcase with it! Still posting for Family Heads :) Edit: that 1hp duel... holy...
I made the comment last katana episode wishing to see it. smiiiiidge disappointed we didnt get to see it this time but wonderin what he'll do when he inevitably must cover the waki
@@Vash141 I've actually gotten a bunch of parries with the waki. They're not as bad as you think. Worse than shields yeah but if you know the timing its really not so bad. It helps even more when people arent expecting a parry from a waki like you would from a shield.
Cool series. Looking forward to seeing when you get to the Lazuli Glintstone Sword. Sure, it's not much different from just slapping Glintsone Pebble on a longsword, but it's still my go-to weapon for much of my mage-knight playthrough because of how effective it is. I still find the Heavy Attack follow-up to the Pebble is one nasty surprise with decent tracking and range for rollcatching.
U know what I just thought about. U should initiate the buff flask bc ur summoning then into the fight so maybe they are waiting on u to buff first. That parry was beautiful especially with the amount of health he had left. Amazing
1 katana left to go! Keep like that! Maybe you could try the ornamental straight swords for next video? They're the swords that grafted scions use, also a really unique attack after using the AOW, and also have B scaling with dex
For regular smithing stone weapons that have shared movesets, you should try mixing things up by trying less frequently used AoW. Like, Glintstone Pebble and Gravitas get used a lot but I don't think I've ever seen you try Spinning Weapon. Phantom Slash and Poison Moth never seem to get any daylight, for example. Just a suggestion.
@@anagoth9 spinning weapon isn't really useable at all unless you have a very long weapon to begin with, (think pike, or long halberd) and it leaves you wide open. It's ok in pve for status procs, or stun locking certain foes. Phantom slash is cool though.
I knew nothing about Elden Ring before my first playthrough and I went with the samurai class because it looked awesome. I ended up sticking to the uchigatana for the whole playthrough and beat every boss/mini-boss with it except Rykard. Love this katana
Hey Chase, great video as always! That fight with Toro was just amazing lol Also, i might've just got lucky a few times, but i find the Unsheathe heavy attack easier to roll-catch, even as a wake-up. Cheers man!
true, and sometimes spinning slash on the washing pole. Unsheathe is a very powerful AoW though, especially the r2 follow up, but it seems that no one runs it.
the SHAMSHIR and possibly a non-"curved sword" in the other hand like a poke halberd. the Shamshir feels like it has a very short/cancellable recovery window, so it can flow into stuff like Double Slash really smoothly.
Here's a challenge one: Clinging Bone. Shares the moveset of the bladed fist weapons but is somber and has a kinda underwhelming ash of war (dark hand). But the upside: you get to land dark hand on people in PVP.
The ToroFinno invasion was the best of the bunch. Evenly matched. Do not underestimate the Brass Shield with Carian Retaliation. It will parry, and only use FP if the parry is a spell parry. The parry frames on the medium shield with Carian Retaliation seems to be on par with the Buckler.
Funny thing about Unsheathe and Moonveil Moonveil actually does LESS damage overall with its versions of the attacks, unless you also hit with both the beam and the blade It was supposed to be a trade off, higher potential damage with a more precise timing, or less damage but with more range. Unfortunately, it didn't exactly work out
Dual Erdsteel daggers on a faith build as their physical damage scales off faith if infused with sacred/flame art. Katana level damage with a much faster moveset. Also you have not showcased daggers and this would be a nice entry as it's not status effect abuse. Love the series keep it up!
Use the magma blade(dual wield) with the magma wyrm greatsword. Be a fire build and use the Nights Calvary armor set. Its a solid strength and faith build, really fun to use and kinda a cosplay. Switching between those is a good mixup and covers the greatsword/short sword weaknesses well
Chase has become like those anime supervillains who have got so op that the only excitement they are capable of feeling comes from finding a worthy opponent once every blue moon... crazy thing is that yes, he does die sometimes, it's not that those videos are just editing out his losses. Fucking unreal man
Just because I've seen some confusion about it. When you hit an ai, your damage isn't capped by their maximum HP meaning whatever the true damage of your weapon is, it will show the true number values. When you hit a human player, the max damage you can hit is their HP pool. If a weapon kills them then the number shown is whatever maximum HP they had left from the last hit. If you one shot someone it means your weapon does at least that much, not that is its maximum damage.
did you know a lot of dex wepons will get just as much physical damage w occult as with keen? unless you want to use buff spells or certain specific ashes of war (or lightning) most innate bleed weapons are just better on a pure arcane build. another obvious example would be the scavenger's curved sword, it actually gets a significantly *higher* AR with occult v keen, like 50 more damage at 70 arc with min dex v 70 dex, and like 80-something bleed. (but maybe you avoid bleed on purpose?)
I was kind of hoping DkS1>ER would just be a back stab god but oh well. Yeah unsheath go crazy. It’s my go to on the Nagakiba mainly because I loved my washing pole in DS3. Also, I am once again recommending the ornamental straight swords. Very cool ash of war
When do we get to see the Winged Greathorn or the Sword of Night and Flame? I still remember when someone wielded it 30 episodes ago and you were like: What is that weapon? I gotta find out what that is and try it! I hereby start a petition for the Showcase for Winged Greathorn.
