Sad that it only lasts 30 sec. Btw the one thing that bothered me about this vid is that you never land the lightning strike at the end of the ash of war, and for me it does upwards of 900 damage in that one hit
I had so much fun with this thing in low level invasions, spinning slash is great aoe burst against ganks and I think the flat damage buff helps a lot more at that level too

Great vid as always! I really like the power stance halberd moveset! I’ve used the spear talisman with it because I find that combining a running L1 into a running R1 seems to work more often than a jumping L1. Then you get the bonus damage from the thrusting poke of the R1. Would love to see you try some colossal weapons soon!

At least this thing does IMMENSE damage when you do it's full AoW combo, unlike the poor katana version... Speaking of which, I'd love to see the dragonscale blade in a showcase sometime soon! Can we just stop and consider a few things here? As far as I can tell, Chase is just about the best souls player I've ever seen. He deliberately avoids op and cheese builds. You don't quite realize just how good he is unless you watch other players. He's super entertaining to watch. Even if I didn't play Elden Ring I'd still watch his stuff. Plus, he's never toxic. He's like super wholesome and stuff. I mean just consider all these things. Like even if I was playing, got invaded, and lost, I'd never feel toxically disrespected if it was him. This is just a game, yes, but what if the world was filled with bros like him? We'd all be better off srsly.

I think it's great when people don't go for buffs. Most weapons are already ridiculously strong, especially with the ash of war system. Makes for much more tactical fights.

I think the reason that the black flame wall on the first duel didn't do much is because the black flame *seems* to do more physical than fire damage. Could be talking out the wrong end here to, but black flame incants feel like they need a small buff ):
The moment I got this thing in my main character, I knew I would love it. Used it through the whole main game and powerstanced them the moment I got a second one
If you initiate jump attack right on the jump ,the animation is instant and the player will back off seeing it so early, if you time your heavy r2 or your dual wield L1 attack right when you land a jump, it'll do the jump attack animation while on your feet, throwing off your opponent thinking your jump faking, usually gets them everytime. I use it alot with my dual fire & ice lances 🔥❄️

I'd like to see some greataxe showcase sometime. Personally I really like the look of the Longhaft Axe. I've had good success with Waves of Darkness in invasions(especially if they don't respect your spawn-in i-frames), and Beast's Roar/Flaming Strike seems decent for duels as fast-ish options to pressure people at range and force them to approach, since the axes obviously don't have much range themselves.
On that halberd the weapon art is actually amazing. The first swing is not exactly slow and if placed well, can surprise and stun lock multiple people at the same time, and once that's done the follow up is pretty much guaranteed to hit a specific target, all for an insane amount of damage. Sad to not have seen you use that but it's fairly easy to accomplish
I actually win quite a lot of duels with it. The weaponart can be landed more often than you'd think since you are able to delay the second part for quite some time catching many aggressive players off guard. Since many build are more or less glass cannons i tend to even oneshot a surprising amount of players if i land the complete aow (not an optimized build from my side though i just think the weapon looks cool)
Hey Chase, you should try the Ornamental Straight Sword! I think it has some potential for a good invasion weapon, because the L2 buff is quick and it buffs both swords. Also, the unique R2 you get when it's buffed is mad fun.

This weap is legit. The length of the AoW is reasonable. Frost/with lightning is unreal. Pre-nerf/patch, this wep, AoW with the pully crossbow put out INSANE numbers on any and all bolts. R.I.P. pullybowcheeze.
I've noticed after watching some of your older DS3 content Chase, that you tend to be a lot "friendlier" in your encounters now. There is a lot less "trash talk" and general tomfoolery that you'd normally find in the community. Even though you engaged in it somewhat in DS3 (never undeserved as you fought some very shitty people), you seem to be much more mellow nowadays. Any idea why that is? I was just wondering. Most people get worse as they play more PvP, at least in that respect 🤣
My GUESS is that he realizes there are lots of new players to the series, and wants to set an example for how PvP can be jolly fun for everyone, rather than digging deeper into the 'us vs. them' mentality. The aggressive friendliness is actually what I love most about Chase compared to... certain other creators.
I ended up changing to the jolly mindset as well; getting salty (even in fun) tends to wear out the game faster - especially if you play/record every day.
Another good build for this weapon is use a frost halbred in second hand, since the buff also adds frost to the dragon halbred. Ive been using the banished halbred with frost as it still gets a C in str and dex.
Great fights man, something I've been wondering is how do you manage to mix up your stats for every different showcase? Are you on like NG+7 and you collected every single larval tear each run? Do you get people to donate them?
Roar guy had Highland Axe in his off-hand which buffs all roars. I’m pretty sure he could have two-handed and had the Highland Axe on his back and still gotten the buff

Yo! I was your first duel, was a very fun fight, I had just respecced and had some trouble getting used with the Monk Flameblade (seems a bit short). Funnily I respecced FROM dual halberd after watching your video on Dismounter, so I wanted to try something similar. I was 50% sure it could have been you, as I am in Europe and didn't know matchmaking reached so far.
I'd love to see you use the Antspur Rapier. Bleed infused is probably the most legit way to do it but I love infusing it with poison and just having fun with it in invasions
This thing one shots everyone in stormveil invasions with the weapon art so it's my go to for overleveled phantoms. Flat damage buff and they get frostbitten easily early game.
This is my favourite weapon in the game, It's my absolute go-to for some fun duelling or invading. Being able to juke people with the first part of the ash of war is really fun
@@RestingLuge you don't dodge things, you do the first part of the aow a couple times, whether you hit or not doesn't matter. Then you do the full aow and most players try and go in after the first part. The second part can be delayed a bit to trick them more > free aow hit. Mental games >:)

Helphen's Steeple is a pretty cool weapon, using ghost flame to inflict frostbite pretty quickly, while getting a damage increase as well.
Not to mentions it’s one of the best looking weapons in the game.

Thinking flamberge could potentially be interesting. Could mess around with the occult infusion, see what shenanigans you could get up to with that.
Chase was playing with that last host like a cat does with a bug. Jesus Christ that must've been terrifying for the host.

the true power of black flame ritual is the ability to hide inside and cast a long miracle or area of denial effect

That last host killed the twin Jelly needed to unlock that dungeon. So for killing Jelly Chase played with his food.
