Eibach makes the springs and shocks toytec uses for the kits they sell too. They are making a adjustable coil version for my application. To compensate for any leaning issues.
Awesome video, will definitely be going with Eibach in the future with my taco 👍👍 I've run their products before (Pro kit springs on one Hyundai Sonata, one mk1 Miata, and one s13, and another s13 was using their Sportline springs) and have been thoroughly satisfied. Great bang for buck in my previous experience, pretty much the definitive 'stage 1' suspension upgrade. Eventually I'd like to replace all rubber bushings with polyurethane as it helps the suspension move more freely (less of pre-load binding than with rubber). I get a lot of bumpsteer in my 3rd gen, where hitting a bump will knock the steering wheel around, and hopefully I can work it out.
And the 4600 trds were still a huge upgrade for my dead 4R. Can't wait to do eibach on the GX. The extra weight will be better controlled with the Eibach

Did you install clamshell bushing? Or did it start to fail at all after lift. Just wondering everyone says they have problems. Would like to know for my build in future
I did not do the bushing. I heard that you only really need it if you're 3" lift or more. The eibach kit is about 2" so I figured I'd be fine.. and I haven't had any issues lol
I know this videos old as hell, but did you notice any long term effects on your CV Joint? I’ve been reading about these kits-and would like to get one-but I’m worried about the difference in angle these kits put on the CV joint, as compared to the stock suspension. I was reading that it can prematurely wear out your joint, but I don’t know if that’s true or not!
Yes, any change to the suspension geometry can cause premature wear. The rule of thumb here is anything over 2" lift you will need to upgrade other components like UCAs and such. Staying under 2" lift you should be okay, but there's definitely still a chance for premature wear. Especially with bigger/heavier wheels & tires.
Well honestly you can’t really compare Fox to Eibach... yet. You get what you pay for. However for the price, I don’t think there is a better suspension kit on the market. And it’s 100% better than stock imo

You mentioned an add a leaf... that's not part of the Eibach Pro kit ... what add a leaf did you use and after some driving (on & off road) do you still suggest it?
Jon-Aric Long I did the Icon 3-leaf AAL. Honestly I’d go with a full leaf pack if you don’t mind spending the extra money. The AAL is pretty stiff and I’ve heard the full leaf packs are better. AAL is definitely tolerable for me though. Others may disagree haha
Overall the drive is good. It is a little bit stiffer but I think it's a good tradeoff for the overall performance. To me, the stock setup was just way too bouncy/floaty, and super rough off road.
Thanks for replying I’m between the 5100s and eibach even considering the 6112s if they are that much better but just looking for a comfy daily driver suspension with good handling as well where I won’t feel all those crazy bumps on the road since I live in a ranch area any advice would be appreciated thanks.
Where did you purchase this kit and what can I expect to pay? I live in Alaska and regularly see -25 to -40 temps in the winter. How does this kit perform in cold weather? Bilsteins are tested and have proven themselves to perform in cold temps. That is my biggest fear is purchasing this set in the summer and everything is hunky dory until winter and the performance of the kit falters due to the extreme cold. Otherwise solid video, thanks for sharing. I was considering going with an OME kit as well but now you got me considering this kit as well.
For the kit that includes front coilovers and rear struts, you'll pay around $500-600 depending on if you can catch a sale. I also bought an Icon 3-leaf AAL for the rear which was another $200 or so. You'll also either need to reuse your stock top mounts or buy some aftermarket. I live in Florida so I can't really speak to the cold weather aspect, but Eibach is a reputable brand that has a long history of creating vehicle suspension. They are now trying to break into the off-road suspension market. You can find Amazon links in the video description for the lift kit and the top mounts.
Awesome video thank you! I was wondering how the kit is holding up today? Is it recommend to use the 3rd notch in order to get the full 3” in the front?
Thanks for watching! Kit is still doing well and I have absolutely no complaints. I'm under the impression that the highest notch will make the ride pretty stiff. Also going up to 3" lift you'll need to get aftermarket adjustable UCAs in order to keep the truck aligned properly.
Thanks for the heads up. How are the leafs? Have you noticed and sagging? I would hate for my rear to rack then the front. Thanks for the reply as well!!
@@puppet015 No sagging so far. The AAL is a little stiff but nothing crazy. If they start sagging I'll either throw the overload springs back in or buy a full leaf pack.
Thanks! The Eibach kit was $500 (on black friday) Add a Leaf was $220ish KYB Top Mounts were like $40 I installed the rear myself and had the front installed for $150, but I would budget around $500+ for a full suspension install. I have Amazon links to the eibach kit, add a leaf, and top mounts in the video description.
Awesome video, did you have to add sway bar spacer to relocate the UCA?, im getting the same lift kit and I watch other guys did it but other guys says its not needed on off road Tacoma thanks !
Joel Araniva yeah my kit had the sway bar relocation kit. I believe they redesigned the spring perch so you shouldn’t need it anymore & it won’t come in your kit 🤙🏼
Kinda. I did have some rubbing, so I used a heat gun to push in the inner fender liner and that mostly solved it. Then doing the viper cut (see my other video) completely fixed it. My wheels are 17x8.5" 0 offset and tires are 275/70R17. I believe they rubbed because they were 0 offset and stick out a bit further than the stock wheels. If your wheels have a positive offset, you probably won't rub or at least not as much as I did.
Definitely more stress than stock, however this lift kit is designed to work with the stock UCAs. That said, aftermarket UCAs are the way to go. Anything 3"+ lift you 100% should get upgraded UCAs
So the Ford kit may be a bit different, but this provided 2" lift on my Tacoma and did not require a diff drop. I would definitely say the ride off-road is more enjoyable. It's less bouncy and in my opinion easier to stay in control while hitting bumps at speed.
My suggestion is to be realistic with yourself about what you REALLY need. How often are you off roading? What type of off roading are you doing? What do you want out of the upgrade? All questions to consider. If you just want some lift with increased performance for the few off road trips you take per year, go with the cheaper option. If you're bombing it though whoops in a desert every weekend, go with the more expensive option.
@@KnightWheelsMedia haha. No problem. Are you still happy with the kit? I am looking to purchase them but haven't seen any year reviews on the pros and cons.
@@onefishwonder3366 Yup no complaints! Honestly a kit like this is good enough for 99% of offroading that people do. You only need the higher end stuff if you're really doing some serious off roading/prerunning
Keneaux Thanks for watching! I bought the kit so it came with front & rear struts and the springs. But yes I believe you’ll need longer struts for the front to work with Eibach coils.
Anyone run eibach pro lift spring on 2nd ring setting? every time going over speed bump it pulls the truck down after going over it like its maxed out near droop.
Awesome video! Quick question, the rear shocks say they only supports up to a 1 inch lift. You’re AAL springs are 1.5 inch. Does that mean you are losing potential travel? Is it bad for the shock? What if I want to lift the back 2 inches?
I haven't had any issues with it personally. I'd imagine you could risk blowing the shock, but I feel like that'd only be in extreme circumstances. The shock likely limits it a little. I'd say reach out to Eibach about it and ask since you wanna go more lift in the rear.
It seems to me that it would cause the people in the cab to be thrown around because the Eibach suspension isn't taking the brunt of the impacts, but the stock suspension definitely is. Those impacts have to transfer somewhere and if it isn't into the shocks/suspension, then the entire truck is absorbing it. It looks like it would make the ride much rougher.
Beeliner12 You’re definitely not wrong. The Eibach suspension is definitely stiffer but it’s less bouncy. So when you go over a speed bump or similar the nose of the truck isn’t bouncing up & down multiple times as it would with the stock suspension. So I can go over larger bumps at a higher rate of speed without feeling out of control. There’s a trade off because the Eibach suspension is more of a jolt when you hit a bump and it recovers quickly whereas the stock suspension is less jarring but doesn’t recover as quickly so there’s residual movement and you bounce a couple times. Stock suspension also has more body roll in turns and nose dive while braking. Kinda comes down to personal preference but the main reason to upgrade suspension is for off-road use, where the Eibach kit shines.
CARLOS I don’t have the stock measurements but based on others I’ve seen on TacomaWorld, I gained about 2.5” right after the lift and now it’s settled down to around 2”
Thank you for the reply also one more thing is there a reason why you preferred going with the eibach lift instead of the Bilstein adjustable suspension there around the same price of believe. I ask because I am between the two lifts Myself and I just would like to know your point of view.
CARLOS for sure! I went with the Eibach for a couple of reasons. First being I heard a lot of good reviews about its ride quality. I also got a really good deal on the kit because I bought around Black Friday so it ended up being cheaper for the Bilstein. Either way, I think you’ll be happy with whatever kit you get. Just expect a slightly stiffer ride (in a good way)
Anthony Hoomanawanui I’m under the impression that it’s the only available Eibach kit for the Tacoma at the moment, so yes I suppose it is. However I believe they have a prototype 2.0 version with resi shocks being tested currently

Yes I had some that I eventually figured out haha check out this video:

Good Stuff! Would I have to upgrade the Front Struts from stock with these Eibach Coilsprings?
Keneaux Thanks for watching! I bought the kit so it came with front & rear struts and the springs. But yes I believe you’ll need longer struts for the front to work with Eibach coils.
Is this Eibach stage 1 or stage 2 kit? I just ordered mine
Stage 1 - the stage 2 kit didn't exist at this time unfortunately
Hi did you change your UCA?
I kept UCA stock since I was under 3" lift. Aftermarket UCAs were on the list, just never got to them. Not needed, but definitely nice to have.
What do you suggest for rear?
If you have the money, go with a full replacement leaf pack. Otherwise a 3-leaf add a leaf.
Damn, now this is a real comparison compared to others just keep talking with no evidence
What uca did you use? Is it stock? Or from eibach

Did you install the front and rear suspension? Or take it to a shop?
I did the rear suspension myself. Front I ended up taking to a shop due to time constraints and my lack of skill at the time lol
@@KnightWheelsMedia for me the most difficult part would be the add a leaf
Anyone run eibach pro lift spring on 2nd ring setting? every time going over speed bump it pulls the truck down after going over it like its maxed out near droop.
I've heard of many people having issues running them too high
👌🏾👌🏾 thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
What height are you running these at?
The bottom clip which gave right around 2" lift
Same kit on front and back? Sorry if dumb question I’m a n00b :)
So $600 x 2 plus installation.
Thoughts on just doing a Springs and not shocks?
Nope! The kit comes with front coils and rear suspension. You'll need some type of rear lift though whether it's a block/spacer lift or an add a leaf.
I don't think this will work. If I remember correctly, you need a longer shock body to work with the Eibach springs.
Missing the Tacoma videos
I've been super busy but kinda enjoying the time off from RUclips haha
Will start posting soon with some new car content & the new off road build 🤙🏼
Do you still have this set up?
Sold the truck a couple years ago
Can you make a Measure comparison stock vs new lift ?
Just expect a slightly stiffer ride (in a good way)
Is this a stage 1 ?
Anthony Hoomanawanui I’m under the impression that it’s the only available Eibach kit for the Tacoma at the moment, so yes I suppose it is. However I believe they have a prototype 2.0 version with resi shocks being tested currently
I am new to lifts so didn't know that there was only 1 stage lol
This is exactly what I was looking for. Do you have b4 and after pics of the height?
Joe TV yes! On my Instagram @knight4co and I believe I also posted them on the Eibach thread on TacomaWorld
Awesome thank you I'll go check it out!
What’s the model on that icon AAL?
It's the Icon 3-leaf AAL. Link is in the video bio.
Thanks for watching!
knightacoma hey thanks for the reply but I don’t see the link in the bio. It only consists of the eibach lift kit and the kyb mount.
Oh my bad! Thought you commented on a different video lol
