It was a scream and the corn liquor was the best you ever had. They say when you die.. you go back to the times when you were the happiest. If that's true.. I'll be back up that holler again. hey folks, we're on instagram. @gemsonvhs and @lostdogstreetband
GemsOnVHS I believe I owe you a debt of gratitude. Your channel has introduced me to more amazing, heartfelt, incredible artists than I could have ever asked for. Thank-you so much, truly, for all of the amazing music you have shared.
Thanks for all this great music GemsOnVHS. I found a lost dog video of yours called green eyed gal. Been addicted to lost dog and your channel since. Has prolly saved my life to be serious. But anyways, thanks a lot man. It's appriciated wholeheartedly.
shit thanks panther
thanks buddy, not quite a genius but we definitely know good music when we hear it.. cheers, love the UK and Ireland, can't wait to go back.
GemsOnVHS how the hell can I meet Benjamin Todd like for real he has changed my life
This is one that no matter the feeling, gets you so hyped and ready to take on whatever the day throws at you. Alone they are amazing, but together is like the most expensive whiskey you could drink. Smooth and smoky 🌹
I keep coming back to this video When I need a small sip of life. Always use it as a trampoline into fun porch/bonfire hang outs.
Bless these two.
More Matt Heckler please! This guy opened for Lost Dog in Chicago a while back and I’ve been yearning to hear more by this man.
more on the way i promise.
@@GemsOnVHSThank you for all the videos you put out, I have found so much to relate to. How does a hobo, like myself, work with your productions?( recording and hanging out?) I got pitch?

"Morning Sun" Joshua Simons.
My late wife and I wrote it about our homeless friends in Ft. Collins Colorado. It's about seeing your street family in the morning and knowing everyone made it through to the next day.
Please let me know what you think.
When th3 fuck was lost dog in chicago im gonna shoot myself in the foot.
They have a show coming up in Chicago next month at Reggie’s!
Is there a way to buy Matt Heckler's stuff? I'm kicking myself for only buying one of his albums at Lost Dog's most recent concert!
In 2019 I find this to be bangin
This song reminds me of my once lover. I miss hearing this song accompanied by her blues dancing next to me.
I play this video at least once a day.
I drank 16 beers
This is absolutely incredible
“I know it’s hard, when the sun goes down.. to be alone on shaking grounds”. Ain’t that the fkn truth
I've seen Benjamin Tod in so many places lately and now I wanna move to Alaska❤️
Hope this means more Benjamin Tod videos to come soon too? This is brilliant ❤️👌
till one of us die yeah!
GemsOnVHS fuck yes, I can die happy now (after one of you two preferably) 😂 seriously listen to your channel every. single. day, keep killing it.
best vid in an age, incredible tune.
This is where it’s at. So much love
Always come back to this. Just can't get enough!
thank you for making real music.
Ben knows Townes daughter... I already knew Ben was legendary. But man that just adds some more cool points on top. Townes was the best!!!
My 5yr old son listened to this for the first time tonight he said, daddy "this is the only song I like, its good music how do those guys sound so good" made me happy!
he has good taste
Hello Matt and Ben canada loves your music!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I saw him play in Minneapolis. I bought his CD and I haven’t taken it out of the CD player in my car since May. Love you, Matt!
damn not even i got a CD
If you can get one, do it! its totally worth it!!!
Which one did you get? I just bought his "Heckler's Lament" at his most recent concert, but I'm kicking myself for not buying his first album. Trying to find it. I'll trade you digital files if you have the first one! lol
Jeff I got both Katskillachia and Hecklers Lament!
Would you be willing to help a fellow music lover out? Could you send me Katskillachia if I gave you my email.? I can't find any of his albums anywhere on line. :(
This has become one of my favorite channels on RUclips. Thank you for all your hard work and the amazing videos! Another outstanding artist to consider for a spotlight would be Joseph Huber from Milwaukee
well ill be danged, thanks buddy. i'll be on the lookout for joseph.
DUDE!!... The way Bens guitar and voice goes with Matt. It sounds majestic!
Saw Matt open for The Lost Dog Street Band in Madison back in May and was absolutely blown away by his voice and talent. When he stepped on stage I didnt know what to expect but once he started singing I was blown away. Seeing him get any kind of platform warms my heart. When I saw him I fell in love with his music and between sets I bought every bit of merchandise he was selling for himself because I wanted to support him (also his music isnt available online and i needed that now!). I also got a chance to speak to him briefly and he is just a genuinely cool dude.
he sure is a cool dude. im sure he will get his music online here soon.
[verse 1]
Don't leave me hanging, from a willow tree
Honey cut me down, 'cus I can't breathe
I'm up the mountain, ain't coming down
No you won't see me around your town
[verse 2]
I'm high n' lonesome, 'n I'm running dry
I've given up, on gettin' by
So come home honey, don'tcha make me beg
Take out your fiddle, tune up and play
[Chorus]
I know its hard when the sun goes down
To be alone, on shaky grounds
Go get some matches and kerosene
We'll burn it down, honey, run out and leave
[verse 3]
I bleed out slowly, in my Sunday vest
When you come around, In that Sunday dress
Your blue eyes dancing, drawin' me in
And sideways glances, honey where have you been
[Chorus]
I know its hard when the sun goes down
To be alone, on shaky grounds
Go get some matches and kerosene
We'll burn it down, honey, run out and leave
[verse 1]
Don't leave me hanging, from a willow tree
Honey cut me down, 'cus I can't breathe
I'm up the mountain, ain't coming down
No you won't see me around your town
[Chorus]
I know its hard when the sun goes down
To be alone, on shaky grounds
Go get some matches and kerosene
We'll burn it down, honey, run out and leave
[Chorus]
And I know its hard when the sun goes down
To be alone, on shaky grounds
Go get some matches and kerosene
We'll burn it down, honey, run out and leave
@Tim DaHuman i wont say it isnt but i (being a young white man) always saw it as falling in and out of love with the same person
@Tim DaHuman was also written by matt

Just singed up for patreon. Thanks for all the work you've doing. You're doing the world a fucking favor sharing all of this.
you're my hero and responsible for all the crazy shit we're gonna keep releasing.
I can’t stop listening to this ❤️

I finally got to see both you guys in Nashville. I even got to smoke a cigarette with Matt after he played. Please y'all gotta keep this up. This is a revival of what music should be.
Fcking love america. Thank god for this 🔥
this is how it is in canada too
The US is still the source of the best music in every genre. Britain had it going on for a while, but those days are over.
Bring back the Appalachian south.
Hell yeah
@@traditionalfascists3303 it never went nowhere. been here all along
Bring it back? You think it left? Son, Appalachia will never die. Promise
