  • Today I dive into English rock band PULP. "Disco 2000" is the third single from their fifth studio album DIFFERENT CLASS released in October 1995. Featuring a disco-inspired musical performance, the song was based on Pulp singer Jarvis Cocker's childhood memories of his friend Deborah Bone, who he had "fancied" in his youth but could never impress. The single reached number 7 in the UK.

    Fantastic song and band... agreed so nostalgic 😀
    Saw Jarvis Cocker when supported PIXIES in 2008 I think! Sung a few Pulp songs!! Love it!

      I remember James' Laid being the jam on college radio back in the day. One of the few times we had British songs in the early 90s that wasn't Radiohead (not that they were crap, but there was a lot of good stuff coming out across the pond back then).
