Forget Oasis and Blur , Pulp were the band in the Mid 90's and the band of Brit Pop . Different Glass the album , Jarvis the front band , they were the next The Smiths

Loved this song back in the day and it still holds up! Pulp and Jarvis have a great sound! Got to see them in about 2003 at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl for a Virgin Festival. I was there to see PIXIES but was great to see Jarvis as well.

@@ReactionsToTheClassics yep it was! Was the first time I got to see PIXIES as they broke up before touring Australia. But the was when they reformed, seen them 2 more times since. I did see Frank Black in 1994 though, awesome!

Pixies at Crystal Palace was pretty much my all time top live show. Sugar at Nottingham Poly was great, too.

Great uptempo song Yes ! Common people from 1995 was their biggest hit 👏 Pulp were a huge band in the 90,s ! Jarvis Cocker always had a bit of a real attitude in his vocals which added to their songs with the nostalgic Storytelling which is Fab on this one 😊 Good reaction guys 👌

I'm not necessarily a Pulp fan. There's only about 4 songs of theirs I really like. But Disco 2000 is my favourite. Helps that I love the song Gloria too :)

Firstly this was the year Trey was born which makes me feel old. Always liked this one, it was one of those songs from the time that was looking forward to the millenium. So catchy and still loving it.

Have you reacted to Suede yet? Another very worthy Britpop band. If not, maybe check out So Young or Animal Nitrate as a couple of their early hits then you can move forward through their catalogue/albums.

Jarvis was quite the front man - 1st time I saw them was at The Opera House (great old theatre) back in the mid/late 90s or so and they did Disco 2000 ?? I was really into Britpop Blur, Oasis, Pulp etc. at the time - great, great evening in a smaller style venue. 2nd time was at Massey Hall in the late 90s and just found this video of the show ruclips.net/video/aH7BYTv2fFw/видео.html

Shawn and Trey, This song is from Trey's birth year. Cool. The story behind the song is interesting. This song has a high energy sound, an anthemic sound like you said Shawn, and also a nostalgic atmosphere like you said Trey.. Nice story in the lyrics. You guys analyze the lyrics in accurate detail in your comments. The song has an upbeat excitement about it, and I enjoyed your reaction. A rating of 9.0 is a very high score. Good song Matt

With this and Disco 2000, you've more or less listened to the 'choruses' from the album (Different Class), which is a masterpiece of a portrait of the working class, the stories, characters and scenarios have grit and bite. I Spy and F.E.E.L.I.N.G.C.A.L.L.E.D.L.O.V.E are my favourite two, Monday Morning a close third, but the whole album must be heard, there's no rubbish on there at all.

It would be great for you to react to 'Babies' or 'I spy', so much amazing songs from them, basically every song in Different Class album and His n Hers. But Babies is a must listen, such as I Spy

I knew this was based on a true story but I didn't know the girl's full name until now. The irony here is that when this came out I was dating a girl called Deborah Bone and I used to jokingly sing this song to her.

Just to add a rather sad but poignant link to the song. Jarvis performed at Deborah's 50th birthday. Full story in the link. www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2015/jan/02/deborah-bone-dies-mental-health-pulp-disco-2000-mbe
