That's another great video, very calm & patient, I must admit I always had trouble threading the looper until I learned how to drop the knife off & I also take the presser foot off as well, much easier to thread now 😀 Thanks Abi x
Hello Abi. Thank you so much for good videos. I live far from a service technician, and they charge a bundle for servicing combo machines. But you gave me the confidence to take my husqvarna s-25 apart and clean it thoroughly. Bought it second hand, but now it is clean as a whistle and sews like a dream.
Brilliant Abi😀. I’m going to attack my Jaguar 099 now! Have not been doing much with overlocker for some time as hubby was more seriously ill than we knew and has now passed away. Just getting my sewjo back. 🙂
Oh, Janet I’m so sorry to hear about your husband 🌷 😞 I hope you are okay. I know sewing got me through a difficult period after I lost my mum. It’s so difficult losing someone so important in our lives x Sending you lots of positive energy ✨
2 tools that I find great for cleaning and oiling are: -Dental micro brushes. They grab lint well and you can pull it out of tight spots. They can also be oiled and used to brush on oil when you only need a light coating. -The other is a clockmakers precision oiler. They have a long spout and only give a tiny droplet of oil each time compared to the big drop from most bottles of sewing machine oil.
So patiently explained, thank you. My Lidl Singer overlocker doesn’t seem quite so fiendishly difficult to thread as that one but it’s doing all kinds of Frankenstein stitches. I’ve never cleaned or oiled it but you’ve given me the courage to try,
Hi Abi Just read a reply about the Necchi and brother not oiling up guess what sewing machine and over locker I have Oh well screwdriver at dawn Best regards Martin 😄😄
Excellent video especially for newbie like me....can you please explain what you mean about the thread being the right way? Do you mean the way they come off the spool and do they go two one way and two the other. Thank you .
Old looking grease, when it looks yellow, brown or black. Then you have brands like brother and Aldi’s Necchi that seize up because they don’t grease their machinery
Abi, thank you for these matainance videos. This does give me the confidence, to open my Sewing and Overlocker machine, to give them a proper clean, and a light grease. Thank you so much.🙌🏾
thank you - lovely clear camera work and explanation

another brilliant video, thank you. J.
I am still battling with threading of the bottom looper, looking at you taking out the screws is giving me a total anxiety attack🙃
Haha 😜 we all start like that. Just go for it ! We only learn by persevering . ✨🌷

Darn my brother doesn’t open on the bottom left like yours
It’s near impossible to clean
I just use qtips to reach in 😢
Hi Wendy. That’s a shame, which machine do you have? I would be very careful using a tips, they could add fluff to the machine
Hi Abi, Do you only oil - or do you re-grease any parts, thanks
