  • Caught an eastbound manifest at Riverview, MP 1306, and then headed up to Tamarack, MP 1291 and I managed to not only get ahead of the manifest, but also caught up and got ahead of an eastbound stack train that the manifest was chasing up the hill. Both trains where crawling up the grade!!

Cool to see you uploading Montana railroad highlights this month! Looks like you have been having fun finding freight trains to film there. Interesting footage and trackside angles. Nice job!

Great to see you back out capturing quality videos of the Kootenai River Subdivision. You are one of the few that spend time in that area. Keep them coming.

Thank you, I really appreciate that! I'm surprised there aren't more, the access is really fairly easy and you can't beat the railroad action coupled with the scenery! Thanks for watching my friend!

Lots of power on the EB manifest. Kinda cool that you were able to catch up to it.

Thank you. Ten locomotives but only the leader and the dpu were working, the rest were just along for the ride. Thanks for watching my friend!

@PacificNWRailfan indeed. I've learned from other railfan videos that too many locomotives at work on the head end creates too much pulling power and will tear apart the front cars.

While i prefer the older EMD prime movers, that classic GE chugging noise has been around since i chased trains at night on days off on my night shift job, waaaay back in the 1970s............
