as someone like me that loves watching trains non-stop in the fraser canyon here in BC, i have a few spots that are my favourite...this is a great spot to watch the trains speed past as well.
No “ring job” needed diesel engines are designed to emit exhaust it’s a burning fuel process on how they run not a combustion engine like a car There’s no alcohol in diesel fuel. Great video auto rack & intermodal trains get to run at higher speeds then “mixed freight” trains There’s no “slack” in the train once they’re stretched out.
That first auto rack had some shiny new cars. Auto racks are good for one thing; graffiti! Some are nicely done. Those engines sounded really nice. Thanks for the video my friend stay well roll on
Thank you Mark and you're welcome. Yea, those were brand new Ferromex auto racks. I really don't care for graffiti myself. Thanks for watching my friend!

Thank you coeneschamaun! My camera has a 20x zoom lens and records in 4K, that's why the great resolution! Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching my friend!
I am train driver in Europe, i drive cargo train only, my longest train was 670m and 2700t and that was one of the longest train we can have (the limit is 700 something) Those US miles long and thousand tons heavy trains are totally out of my mind.
It is pretty amazing the amount of tonnage and length of trains these days. A normal train now pushes a mile or more in length and 10,000 to 15,000+ tons. Now they operate what are referred to as "supertrains" which are basically two regular sized trains coupled together. A grain train like that will have eight locomotives, two on the head end, three mid train, and three DPU's , have around 220+ cars and weight up to 30,000 tons!! Thanks for watching my friend!
I counted 111 on that one stack train on the siding. The power those two Dash 9s (the lead locomotive and the DPU on the end) and the GEVO to handle that train. Amazing!
Thank you mrfeicco! I've always thought the same thing but they must know more than we do as there don't seem to be any "string line" derailments and they operate the trains in this kind of configuration all the time. Of course it could be just dumb luck it hasn't happened yet. That one "string line" derailment that SP had at the Cantara Loop near Dunsmuir, was the result of a locomotive breaking traction, and a light railcar in between loaded ones, that's all it took! Thanks for watching my friend!
@@brandonching6087 I am able to get this close as I am standing on a bridge abutment, otherwise if I were on the ground, I wouldn't stand this close to the train! Thanks for watching my friend!
