The "Z" trains pass that grade crossing with five engines forward and two DP's in the middle. Estimated speed is 30 to 35 MPH. They must be in a real hurry to get somewhere.

Also, to mention how well the soundtrack is mixed. Living in Hawai'i means I can only enjoy the big trains on video and this is one of the best I've seen. Great job!

Vernon and Loma Linda are like a half a mile if not less apart but i guess rules are rules and its good to hear they are abiding by them. The length of these intermodal trains adds rolling resistance and they make communication between the locomotive and EOT problematic. So DPU's placed mid-train assist in overcoming the resistance that the length creates, and they act as a repeater for communication between the head and rear ends of the train.

EMDs 645s or710s V 20 s sounds like . Saw a loco a week ago U.P.nnorth of Tucson over 4 miles of cars with multiple DPUs double stacked . Damnest bunch of cars I’ve ever seen on one train . 4,400 hp each loco . All those trees eatin the CO2 really green

Total of four locomotives for a 3 mile train going up a 1.8 degree grade. Under powered, needs at least two or three more locomotives. I think those trains are too long anyway, a mile Max should be it.
@@Greatdome99 Not talking about going faster, I’m talking about not enough locomotives so the 3 mile train doesn’t stall and needing more locomotives so each locomotive is less strained and more dynamic braking.

@@RRTrainVideos we’ve had a few derailments near Indio over the years. Last derailment was near Washington Street in Bermuda Dunes.
It was a bunch of office supplies, that was the first time seeing carnage on the rails. I lived across the street and was able to walk
