- Today we go over the recent photo leaks/releases from Dodge that tease a pre-production version of the upcoming, next-generation, Dodge Charger Daytona SRT electric-vehicle. By digging deep into the photos, we get to see some information on what features might make it onto the vehicle, as well as compare it to the 2022 concept. I'll also go over other updates on this car, like the powertrain, power numbers, release date, and possible gas-powered 3.0L Hurricane versions. Watch along for all the details!

I know lot of people are bashing on these pre-production photos but honestly this looks virtually identical to the concept and I am really excited to see what this is like as a production vehicle. Here's hoping they can actually make a compelling EV or at least a cool car.
I definitely like the cyberpunk styling, Needs to go further.
Everyone else can have the soft aero 'eco' look, Dodge need to keep making cars for the bad guys or the anti-hero to drive.
It looks sharp, angular, blocky. Just like the Dodges that we used to have. The retro futurism style is phenomenal compared to the other EVs shown off (cough cough Honda/Tesla/Kia) that all look like blobs
@@lytatroan i would actually get an ev 440 if the stupid pay for power subscription was snuffed
The styling is very good, it looks like a mix of the late 1960s Charger and the modern Challenger. Honestly the original Banshee concept looks the best, it just needs a 392 V8. As for these newer production models, they'd look even better with 4 round headlights that can hideaway behind the grille, a variety of wheels, and I'd love to see wide body versions. For a base model to look this good is very rare, its a very good platform, lets just hope Dodge does the rational thing and gives us several V8 options.
Edit - It also needs to have the double curved body lines on the door panels that all Chargers have.
@@HansBelphegor I'm mixed lol. I either want Hurricane (full gas or Hybrid) or the 440. I need my AWD. Hoping the EV infrastructure gets better, since I have no idea where some charging stations are.
@@DesertStateNevada I have no idea if a factory V8 will be issued, but modders will have a lot of fun Hemi swapping the Hurricane models.
Honestly it doesn't look bad at all definitely will improve over time
love the metroid dread profile pic lol
@@shoolima7131 thanks bro
I was just saying that exact thing
All they got to do is make it a more aggressive and give it the double curved body lines on the side door panels that all Dodge Chargers have this car has no body line on the side it’s just smooth and too long it’s way too basic from the sides
@@redhunnid5142 Yes, I don't even understand why they left that out. All Chargers have that styling on the door panels.
I have a 2013 police, just had engine rebuilt, added 392 heads. It sounds like I better hang on to it....
There's professional companies out here that drop in a 392 for around $4k if you want to go that route..
@@ljmorris6496 So your 345 is a core? I wonder if the new motor would be "as is from a junk yard" then and do they make all the electronics work with the new motor? I'd like to convert my Grand Cherokee to an SRT! At that price making the conversion is no brainer. I wonder if there are companies that will sell you an extended warrantee package with something like that???
@@Mandolin1944 i believe it's the entire engine / electronics and transmission, rather it's a Ram based or SRT based 6.4 you have to talk to the shops about it...
If I can't get a current Challenger, I'd love to get my hand on a Hurricane AWD Charger. It just looks on point
I currently have a 2018 Scatpack Challenger and I would love to have this new Charger with the Hurricane engine and AWD
@@24ecko I basically need the AWD. I want something like a Scat Pack but living in a state with a lot of rain and hills makes me need AWD. The Hurricane is definitely gonna be fun. Can't wait for it to be my 2nd car
@@lytatroani used to do snow removal with a 600hp 81 camaro
@@24ecko KEEP YOUR SCAT!!
@@kenmcdavid9632 idk man that new charger more powerful
I cant wait to V8 swap this thing!
@Jamracer08 Facts without a V8 engine in this new 2025 2door Dodge Charger car , it's die in the water already, because people want the V8 engine experience ,that's what this brand was built on too begin with 🤦♂️🤦♂️👎👎👎
@@erictate8986 Dodge's V8s were awesome but their 6 cylinders were great too and now that they have the hurricane engine which will probably perform better than the current V8s
Bet you could easily put the engine from the Demon 170 in this thing would make is soooo much better
If this car comes out I’m buying it
Just wanted you to know I always enjoy watching your show, I have been watching and have been subscribed since the very beginning. You always have great content congratulations on your success.. on the channel. 💪💥🔥🏁🏁🏁
I wish the would release pricing already!
to be fair, I really dig the design, it looks great in my opinion.... just hate that it's going electric..
There’s also a hybrid version coming as well…
Let's see what the new Administration in 2024 does for the American Auto Industry! Drill Baby Drill! Not so fast as we have been scammed by our government EV MANDATES! Stay tune as the ICE isn't going anywhere!
I am 1000% sure.. someone is itching to be the 1st to hellcat swap it. Plenty of youtubers that can get it done.
that involves about 80 grand of work and parts lol
I hope they designed the engine bay where somebody in the future if they wanted to will be able swap out the V6 ICE with one of the old Hemi engines we loved so much.
So the inline 6 from Dodgeville crank out 540 horsepower and be 500 lb lighter than the previous car and that's not enough for you okay let's fiddle with the Boost to get another hundred to 145 horsepower out of it and then you have on all-wheel drive 10-second car would that be enough??
@ubeuonly for me yes that would be enough and I have no doubt a V6 can make just as much power or more but you will still have those people that whine and gripe about It needs that rumble of a V8 under the hood of this car and so on.
You are the Best in the Biz! Thank you for all you do.
Great vid!
I bet the actual delivered models will look great. Expect plenty of tweaks to the preproduction mule. I remember my disappointment when looking at concept & mule pictures back in 2013 of the upcoming new generation 2015 Mustang, only to completely change my mind when seeing in person for the first time an actual production model.
i like it- great video as always
"The only issue with the newest Dodge Charger would be the rotors, calipers, and brakes. If you observe closely, the rotors are solid. I hate it when they install solid rotors on a car model as beautiful as this one, which is supposed to reach certain speeds. It's like, okay, why not use the drilled and slotted rotors, which are much better?"
Basically, this vehicle is another crap car made by Mopar. 😂
Cost obviously lol
@@justin82888 and to keep you coming back to there shop
Since it's an ev the brakes don't have to work as hard
@@Estes316 nha fuck that I'm still getting the slotted and drilled rotors
Marspeed Hello Friend keep up the great work 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸😃😃💪💪👍👍👍👍
We shall see. I do like the design. The Hurricane V6 sounds promising.
Dodge really needs a flagship EV. Hope this looks as excellent in production as it did in concept
I think they should include a 4.0L inline 6 TT Hurricane for heavy duty applications. Like for 2500 and 3500 pickups and maybe a new Viper.
I can’t wait, Dodge was definitely overdue for a new generation, and finally be competitive in the market again
Still surprised this channel still exists😮
I love this car and I'm looking forward to seeing it going to production.❤❤
Looks fire, but even better as a 4 door
Straight Facts.🔥🔥🔥🔥
I love it am I’m looking forward to seeing it in person. I learned to drive in a 1968 Charger 383 4 barrel.
I have concerns if Dodge chooses to release the EV version first or only. EV sales are only 7 percent of new car buyers. That's an extremely low pool of buyers to from. Additionally it's obvious the majority of their current buyers would not be interested.
No v8 no dice
Those are at LEAST 295 rear tires, if not 305.
here we go
When you close your eyes it looks kinda decent 😊
Been holding off watching others channels, on reaction to this vehicle. Waiting for the OG Mopar channels with actual data and info
Rear end looks like the 2011-14 Chargers, which looked like the ‘69/70’s. I had a 2013 and loved the look!!!! Hated they rounded it in 2015.
This model can keep this 68-70 front end look with the Hurricane engine. Just give it a flat hood and get rid of the front spoiler. Car does not look half bad.
I had a 2013 Charger as well. Loved the look.
All they got to do is make it a more aggressive and give it the double curved body lines on the side door panels. That all Dodge Chargers have this car has no body lines on the side. The side panels look smooth, simple and long it’s just way too basic from the sides.
I actually much prefer this to the concept. The more retro, the better. Now we just need to give it some bright colors
Mah, mah, marspeed posted a video!
I love it. I do wonder about the packaging compromises they have to make to have it be bith gas and electric.
I just realized that those are pop up headlights... WOW dodge really did their thing
I couldn't wait until I get off my 2 to 9 for this 1 😁
The concept looked amazing, this looks very awkward.
What happened to the challenger???
Seems like it’s gone for the Charger to take over
Personally, I am a fan of the look. If it is reasonably priced, not holding my breath on that one, it will be on my short list of possibilities as I will be in the market for a new car when it releases.
Overall I like the body style. I just can't get into the EV or straight 6 power plant. It's not about the speed at all. It's the fun factor for me. So I don't see myself buying anymore new cars. If I buy a 6 cylinder I will buy BMW and Porsche. Thanks for the content.
Maybe retro will sell, but will the younger buyers want a new Charger from what I'm seeing looks like a 1969 - 70 versions minus a V8. During that time period. Many large cars sold including Ford and Chevrolet models came un both 4 door sedans and 2 door coupes. I purchased a new 2018 Chrysler 300C 5.7 because it offered a Hemi for performance and 4 doors to car family, etc.. I think Dodge will likely over both a coupe and sedan Charger.
As I mentioned earlier. The new Charger reminds me of the 69-70 versions. One area that I personally think needs changes is the front grill. Looking at the photos of the grill & headlight area and comparing it to the EV prototype with hidden headlights. IMO. It looks to small for the large front end of the new Charger because of the attached headlights.
What do I think? I think I'll be keeping and enjoying my 2023 Sinamon Stick Charger GT PLUS at least until the gas version comes out. Then wait a year and check out tests and reviews, plus acceleration stats before I even think about buying another new Charger.
The outdoor speaker system that makes fake engine sounds is going to be top notch!
The concept to me looked way different like whole different body lines to me this just looks like a current changer with a face lift or am i wrong?? And whats the new tail lights
Love everything but the early 00's-looking halogen headlights!
I'm getting one
The design concept of the higher torque models looks like something that could be used in NASCAR.
All Car makers should pay homage to the 1960's (you know, when they _tried_ to make cars look good.)
It says Daytona molded into the rear bumper so it is the Dodge Charger SRT Daytona Banshee
If Dodge decides to go EV only for the Charger, they'll be eliminating a huge segment of potential buyers. Not everyone has their own home where they can have the Charging unit installed. So if you live in an Apartment Building or Condo, you're not likely to be able to purchase or lease a new Charger. That would be a very unwise direction to go. Great video and information. 👍
Concept was dope minus the vacuum cleaner sound, DLC and lack of V8
If they put some sort of v8 in it it’d be a winner. A good sounding i6 with a cheaper price than the stang may be a winner.
Well we need you to get up to speed about dealers charging over sticker for these Demon 170s‼️ (Hint hint Mac Haik of Flowood Mississippi)
It is a pre production model so it does not all the finishing touches are on the vehicle. I've been around Mopars all my life and each and every time there is a new model, they all pitch a fit saying this or that, and it ends up being a hit !!! I am wondering if the Charger will be the ICE Version and the Daytona the EV. I am still up on the fence about electrification of automobiles in general but I do go in with open arms and see where this all leads....
I agree, hybrid, hemi, and then the Srt tti6 would be the top dog. Stellantis would be foolish not to take advantage of this car. There would be something for everyone
The fuel filler door is just obscene on the side of the car. Putting a filler cap on top of the quarter like the original second gen Charger would serve a double purpose; Bring back even more of the original styling, and keep the quarter panel from looking like a 3rd grader designed it. I don't know that the proportions between the roof line and the tops of the doors and fenders are right. I would have to see it in person. I bought a 1968 Charger in 1982. I am incredibly familiar with these cars. This new gen appears about as similar to the original as the 1993 Mustang did to the 60's Mustang when it came out. Strong hints, but not really a modern redesign of the original. It would be nice if they combined this with the 1999 concept Charger.
Charger should stay as the 4 door model challenger should be the 2 door
lastly, it's a mule. There are several aspects of this that they could still be working on
That is a pre production prototype not a mule ! A Mule is Current generation hiding all the newer generation running gear
@@MichaelSmith-kr9qw oh hey, you're right! My statement still stands.
DO we want a hemi YES!
do we want manual ( HEL YES)
BUT in a SUV EV World
This is HOT!!! bring it on.
The more they sell the better.
This thing is hot AF
and its a coupe
I hope it sells like hot cakes
even as a ford man
BRING IT down under
SO us aussies can enjoy it :D
Should offer PHEV gas/ electric
Gas models?👀
If Dodge Has a Daytona tilt nose Battery powered 780hp Come on Let's go.
You know, despite the flak being given to this particular Charger for not having a Hemi V8, it begs me to wonder what it'll be if Dodge themselves would make a next gen Charger Enforcer PPV
I heard they were giving the charger and challenger the axe. as in no more. I don't think this concept will get much farther than the ramcharger 2 door suv concept. but if it does make it to production, I could see them bringing back the coronet name on this. atleast that's what the fratzog reminds me of. and I don't think that new hurricane 6 is going to be all it's hyped up to be. loyal ram truck owners are saying they'd rather have a v8 to tow with than a six cylinder. and if they want to do it right, they need to tip that new over just a little for better hood clearance. like the old ones.
Keep it Dodge know one wants it
I'd be okay with this if it had the hurricane I6.
Dodge put all their lemons in this car
If i didn't know any better is of assumed this was a new camaro.
Not sure what to expetct of the quality or reliability of Fiat/Stellantis of EV propulsion let alone their tech to manage the systems. Ford recalled all their EV's & my Hummer EV has had 1/2 dozen recalls & a completely new battery pack installed & they only made 800 total in 2022 & 2023 combined. Fiat might torch alot of garages among other things in that respects I guess this will be one HOT product!
Don't get me wrong, a turbo I6 isn't a bad engine. Its just not for a muscle car. Supra, Skyline, or BMW yes. Challenger or Charger, not so much. The slant 6 was reliable but that's all it really had going for it
e stages are performance in sacrifice of range. Since performance is the premium you pay for at dodge, it costs more money.
I think it got potentially. It’s only the first model. Give it time
Concept looks better imo.. but for now i'm just hoping for a V8 HEMI in this car
They can give me one so I can sell it to Pay my House off but I'll just keep my 2009 Dodge Challenger Hemi
I will not by a electric car for many reasons! Bring the Hemi back!
The concept looks way better unfortunately
Because the concept cars usually over exaggerated their designs to raise the hype, but, it’s all down to see these cars in person
exhaust isn't fake
If it doesn't have a v 8 i'm not interested
It's clear Dodge is going after the Modal S Plaid with the Charger Daytona SRT Banshee
I'm not holding my breath that Dodge will be able to compete with Tesla at sheer straight line performance, but maybe I'll be surprised.
Ill but that. In gas. Greg
I don't want an I6 or an Electrik engine - I WANT A V8
already announced later 2024
You didn't mention Brampton. Is that plant closing permanently?
Why buy an electric one with no exhaust sound which is what makes this Dodge special !
The outcome is like when a crackhead gets outta jail hefty, just to go back on crack😂
It's going to be a mile hybrid
I'm still trying to figure out why all these web site keep calling the new charger a challenger. I just read a article from slash gear they keep calling it a challenger through out the article. Are people that desperate for a challenger?
Why is no one talking about how gta5 released this exact car in June 2023, look up buffalo evx
One thing I noticed them openings on the rear end on each side can be used for a dual exhaust
Rear overhang is weird. Just make it a station wagon at this point if youre gonna do that 🤦♂️
production car looks like an aliexpress version of the concept
The car looks like if Nissan tried to make a muscle car! It's OK but I wouldn't be trading in my Scatpack for it.
Rear deck is way too short
It needs to be gas powered only. And creepy light stuff, just put lights on the car. God bless America.
Okay, but if its not at least as quick as a Tesla Model 3 Performance I won’t bother.
They will need a 4 door version so they can sell it to law enforcement.
If these are the future then why is the presidential limousine a deleted diesel?
