Me too bro. Dodge is Dead On Arrival in 2024. No one will buy the EV or the inline 6. What would be the point. No one wants this shit we want High Horsepower V8s. It's the V8 experience that we are buying nothing else. That's why Ford said we will gladly keep selling V8s even if we are the only brand doing it. They listened to us and payed attention to what happened with their own EV shit that no one wants.
@@geton411 Certain EV's aren't selling well, but 2023 was a RECORD sales year for EV's- 1.2 million EV's were sold, the highest amount ever to this point.EV's total market share in the US grew from 5.9% in 2022 to 7.6% in 2023 that's market share of total US auto sales; the ONLY segment that's growing btw.... EV's sales in 2024 are already on pace to exceed the projected 2024 market share increase to 10%. These are HUGE sales increases year over year. Yes, Tesla is grabbing nearly 55% of ALL EV's sold- so huge numbers for that one brand, but thats why automakers are all in for EV's now. Outside of us enthusiasts, the "mass" market consumer which purchases vehicles as efficient transportation appliances seem to have far less reservations about purchasing EV's. The anti-EV propaganda runs rampant in the US, but really does not reflect the facts of what is really happening. The sales numbers overall tell a much different, and very dynamic story. Racer X has touched on this- the reality vs. the propaganda. Theres no doubt that non-competitive EV's aren't selling very well, but the market leaders are selling extremely well. The problems with the sales losers in the EV segment are the same as with regular ICE vehicles; if they're not good enough, or value-to-dollar is not competitive with the segment leader (Tesla), people will not spend their hard earned $$$ on vehicles that don't make a compelling alternative. The Lightning doesn't have enough battery, the Mach-E shouldn't have Mustang attached to it for one, name it Taurus or ANYTHING ELSE, but people are offended that its called a Mustang. Also people shy away from the Mach E simply because the charging experience sucks, as they do the Lightning... The switch to Tesla's NACS standard will fix that for the 2026 Models (if not already for the 2025 MY- not sure if they're coming with NACS yet). On top of all that, the prices were too high- and going in the wrong direction. If Dodge wants to be successful in the EV space, they need products that can go toe-to-toe with Tesla on features, design, and price. If they can do all of those things, Dodge could be very successful in the EV space. As we're witnessing so far though- that's not as simple as it sounds.

@@jorgerodrigogomezflores5711 Dodge made the T/A package which could’ve been the Challenger’s own “1LE” but nope, just some graphics and minor performance changes lol
It’s not lighter it’s a heavy long boat for absolutely no reason it should’ve be aerodynamic on the sides and the back it’s too basic and long. That wheel base looks way too long they need to shorten it a bit. To make it look more like a sleek and nimble coupe. Like how BMW and Mercedes slim down and makes their heavy cars aerodynamic for power to weight ratio. This car is not a muscle car so they need to make it light to keep up with Mustang and Camaro. It just has the shell of a muscle car with no heart it has no V8 no muscle. Dodge needs to make this car between 3,760lbs-3,880lbs. If it’s not around that weight this is ridiculously too heavy for a EV the battery is already heavy lighten the car up.
It looks to me like just a bad reskin of a Charger. Sorry Charger/Challenger fans, they are just playing you. If they really wanted to continue making those cars they would have actually spent some money on a new platform, not the same Daimler platform that has been used since the ‘00s.
The reason Dodge is tinkering with the idea of a return to the HEMI is because they can see that EVs are not selling as expected the American people don’t want them
Lol. If the v8's go away, then so does Dodge. Ive had 3 Rams in the last 10 years and have a 2020 Scat Pack Challenger shaker. If I have to buy a twin turbo truck, then Im going Toyota. And no way would I think about buying a v6 muscle car 😅
Fr! I have a WB Hellcat and a scat pack charger, Dodge deff dying after that decision taken. You should look for the Tundra, my sister got one recently and it’s pretty good, that v6 feels and sounds like a V8, and you got reliability bc Toyota known for.
Issue is they can't just "drop a hellcat in it". Any time you change a major component such as an engine or transmission the car needs to be re-certified again and crash tested which costs millions. The current car didnt have that problem because it was already certified for the hemi engine across the board, its why it was so easy for them to put the 6.4 in that last call 300, it had previously had that engine before. Its why the Rams (and everything else coming) had to wait until mid cycle refresh time to put the hurricane in them, its a massive expenditure.
This week alone almost 500 cars were stolen in Chicago. How long do you think this red Demon or whatever it is would last out in the wild before being stolen and ending up in the hood
If the prices you mentioned are accurate, you'd have a situation where brand new 2025s are stickered at lower prices than the 2023-2024 models still rotting away on dealer lots!
Ford is going to crush Dodge when Ford announced they are going to keep making V8 gasoline / petrol engines that was the nail in the coffin for Dodge..
@@joshg4953if they have an awd drivetrain for several years that can reliably handle it big torque the Trackhawk grand cherokee for example, but i dont think they will use hellcat level torque in a sedan with allwheel drive unless its an EV puttingnpower to each wheel with individual motors awd is is not an issue in that regard and packaging and reliability would be a big advantae over the hemi engine and tansaxles, t hi-po cars will have motors at all 4 wheels. Dodge has had awd in the chargers for several years now..police package hemi fro example.
Me, 66,68, and 14 Charger’s. My grandma drove a 383 powered 70 and I was driven to school as a kid in a 71. We’ve always been a Charger family. I can tell you that true lovers of the big Dodge don’t care if the alternatives are faster. It’s the whole persona, sound, vibration, etc. If it’s not powered by a real V8, sales will plummet. I haven’t talked to anyone so far that would buy that swill. If speed is the only consideration there are plenty of faster alternatives.
When these come out and start being modified they’ll look as good or better than the challenger. And these are only the beginning. Imagine this design with a widebody lowered better wheels. It’s handle better and probably be quicker due to the weight cut alone.
I was a Pontiac guy until they died and still have my WS6. I love my Hemi Ram and 23 Scat Pack Challenger. But after all this I’ll keep what I have but I may be done with Dodge. Next fun car will probably be the last year mustang V8
A lot of chevy and dodge fans wouldn't go for mustang because no tremec manual transmission. The mustang now offers a tremec manual with a v8. I think ford is going to be the future, i don't know for how long.
Personally I'd rather see Dodge bring back the RAM charger and get rid of the Durango. I would also like to see it with solid axles in a super heavy duty version. They could make it reminiscent of the 85-87 model ram charger, those were nice trucks. A newer version with a 6.4 would be absolutely wonderful and also a big seller. A lot of work would be needed in the solid actual version with many updates to the track bars coil springs suspensions and nitro shocks or air ride. I believe it could be a real killer. That's my opinion though
I have a '17 scat pack shaker which I turned into a '71 hemi cuda in Go Green. I tried to get a 170 ( the beast we knew was coming ) for the last 4 years from a dealer in Canada. They would not take a deposit. They got an allocation and sold it to another dealer for 75k CAD over. Never had a chance. To hell with any dodge products forever in a new car
If anyone thinks a Hurricane that is tuned with downpipes will suck, they are so wrong.. Jump in a tuned and downpipe BMW B58 making 650hp or for the trucks, jump into a 3.5 ecoboost F150 with some mods that make 600+ to the tire.. The will run circles around any V8.. Yes you lose the great V8 rumble, but in all reality the torque is instant and they have promise, as long as Stelantis makes a good stout block and uses a good fuel system, and some good pistons and connecting rods from the factory..
@@esteban1487 I disagree...an NA 6 would be an absolute dog. At least the 3.0 i6 makes 400+ in its lowest trim. Hell it's making 510hp/500lbft in the wagoneer!
Just want to say that a “change at the top” is not what is needed. Greed is not good and that’s all you’ll get if you get the “change” you are suggesting. Voting for a government official bc you want a v8 is probably the stupidest thing you could do

Man they deserve that for paying all the extra for the new shit that’s not new just has a paint package on it with some name no real power change. Nothing rare about a hellcat today sorry to burst your bubbles. Maybe when I bought mine they were but now they are a dime a dozen. Look at the resale value gents. In 6 years your car will be worth 47k on margin yet they want damn near 100k now 🤣. Paint it change the seats anyways because they are to damn heavy still have money left. And in the new body style if they wanted to bring the name back then that’s on them, different body style so not exactly like the Durango or demon situation.
All the sudden folks are ok with a 6 cylinder lol I been boosting my v6 charger for 5 plus years. I would like to see how the 540hp inline 6 compares to mine in the quarter. My best track run is 11.82 with estimated 520-530whp. But the inline 6 with the turbo may be a little quicker or close to the same because turbo power curve is more flat. Good stuff!
They already released it and got rid of it before 2011 it was called the 6.1l Hemi naturally aspirated and took mods well they got rid of it before they could pair it with the 8 speed transmission. It was the perfect option between the 5.7 and the 6.4 if you didn’t gave enough money for the 6.4 you bought the 6.1 and if you didn’t have enough for 6.1 or 6.4 you got 5.7. They need to bring 6.1 engine back and put the Hellcat 8 speed transmission on it and put it out as a option. I don’t care about no EV at all I want the 6.1 Hemi back with the 8 speed transmission immediately.
Im interested to see what people will do with the hurricane charger . I know its easily going to be faster than the 6.4 , but i believe most would probably delete the muffler or change the stock exhaust. I wonder how it would sound.
Not sure that Dodge will be able to do anything with the dealership owners. The Stellantis dealership owners are upset with the manufacturer because they’re making them sell vehicles nobody wants to buy.
plus they see stellantis making 18 billion net profit year after year , so no ceo gonna tell them they cant make a profit while the company makes record profits
Same with my 2019 Ram 1500 warlock 40k miles and had more problems than a 90s Chevy. Bought myself a supercharged F-150 RCSB XL lol sad part is the base ford is so much nicer than my warlock it’s kinda frightening 😅.
I’m super happy, believe it or not, with my 2015 sxt with all options available, including the trak pac, sports pac, and the performance package. Has 62,000 original miles, gets me up to 29 mpg with the pentastar v6. Bright white with black factory side body stripes. Still have three speeding tickets!
I love the advancement of technology. And I'm not mad or disappointed about a lighter chassis and more powerful lighter engine. But you'll never get the sound of a 6.4l hemi unless you have a 6.4l hemi. And, I don't mind cruising around at 40 mph and hearing the engine make all the right noises and having a sound track going to hwy speeds at a faster rate than most other cars out there. The Hurricane engine will be a weapon though, and I'm really excited to see people mess with them in the new Dodge chassis.
Not technically, I mean the new Toyota tundra have twin turbo v6s and yet when you drive them, it sounds just like a V8 almost. Least according to the videos I've seen of people driving them, only thing missing is obviously the V8 and the rumble, but it does mimic it
Yes, Maserati GranTurismo Folgore has three 300 kW electric motors; totaling 900 kW (equivalent 1200 HP). But, Maserati (on their website) states the battery pack can only continously discharge 760 HP to the motors.
You never sat in or owned a dodge from the 80s 90s and early 00s? Plus why spend millions when they dont have to... same with building houses. shorten 10ft of wiring per 100 homes built. Adds up quick.
I think a lot of people are giving the inline six too much crap. They are proven engines, that can make insane power. For example, the Toyota 2JZ and the Ford Bara are both capable of 1,000+ HP with simple mods and a tune.
Performance isn’t the point. It’s reliability and longevity. You ever drove that twin charged 2jz cross country for a roadtrip? How about towing a teardrop trailer up a grade? Not interested in a engine which is going to breakdown right after the warranty expires. According to mechanics working for jeep that HO CaT runs 26psi of boost. Imagine running 26psi through an aluminum block with cast internals for a hot summer drive.
@Butterdainsider said it months ago and he had good info to back it up. The EPA shouldn’t matter because the ICE engine MPGs would be off set by the EV version. That’s why Ford did “Mustang” Mach E, so they could keep producing a V8 Mustang.
All major EV makers except Tesla are greatly reducing production. As for Dodge, they're buying credits from Tesla to help offset EPA'S ridiculous demands.
The minimum CAFE standards go up every year. So the production mix that just made it through last year without fines might not meet the increased standards for the following year.
1) if dodge wants to compete with other ev's they need awd. 2) if you think about it, the banshee would have to be awd. what are you going to have 3 motors going only to the rear wheels? no
Don't forget about the pentastar. If they have the pentastar with the 8 speed on a mich lighter platform it may be able to be faster that the old 5.7 cars.
If it were only that easy. You can't just slap a supercharger on an engine and call it good. Also the Pentastar is an old engine that is due for replacement. It's day are very numbered not that the hurricane lineup is out. @@evildrizzt1
I’d love a new hellcat, but for me it would have to also have a manual transmission. I know I’m in the minority here, but I just don’t enjoy driving automatics.
Not only are most of us not going to buy the new Dodge offerings because of the V6 or EV power plants in them its also because the car itself just don't look that good! Sure it's going to be faster than my Scat Pack Shaker but so will an upgraded EV but the Challenger just looks soo good! I've had my Challenger for four years now and it still turns heads!
Many problems with the hurricane engine. Starting with no oil dipstick and the oil sensor faulty. Batteries draining and leaving owners stranded. Once batteries are drained they can’t be jump started. I’ve got a wagoneer and in 4 months of ownership it’s been in the shop for 2 months.

I don't think they'll stuff the hemi in it. Instead I wonder if dodge does something akin to the ramcharger series hybrid crap? A gas engine that doesn't drive any wheels but is a steady state generator to charge the battery, with dual tri or even quad motors drives the wheels of it.
Been a Mopar fan since the early 1960's. I got my driver's license in April 1972. Curently we have 6 Mopar vehicles at my house. While the Hurricane engine is different. It is different in a good way. Since the cylinders have a plasma spray, the cylinder bores will be quite tough. I wouldn't be surprised if a rebuild may include new rings and no cylinder work. I have made aluminum clutches for race cars that had a .040" thick plasma coating. And after a season of racing, virtually no wear on the pressure plate or clutch face. The floating plate was sintered iron. I would have preferred a 4.0L, 4 or 6 cylinder. Maybe a future engine. Wouldn't mind if our Ram 2500 had a 4 cylinder Cummins for more payload capacity. We currently average 22mpg with our 4Wheel popup camper on board. The future engines will be different, and may put the Hemi engines of any generation to shame.
Forget about any decent engines coming from Dodge. Stellantis won't allow it. They want to ruin Chrysler. As long as Stellantis owns Chrysler I'm done buying new ones.
The demand for a V8 and a supercharged version in the new Charger will keep increasing until such options are added. No matter the emissions regulations, it certainly wouldn’t be a true American muscle car without such engines. Also, if it ever does offer a V8, that and the I6 together would be reminiscent of the majority of engine options in large American cars until the 1980s which were an I6 and a V8.
Love the Super Bee, my first car was a 72Charger and I have had quite a few Mopars since (at least 6-7) and in my opinion they would be making a big mistake if they don't make a V8 engine available for the Daytona and the Challenger electric is fine for golf carts but the ice V8 has the sound and soul of America
A local Dodge dealership has some Chargers and Challengers with a $250,000 "market adjustment" on them. That's on top of the $100K MSRP on the window sticker. They turned down an offer of $200K for one of those cars. "Rake" is not really the correct word, but I can think of a similar word that is more accurate.

I had a 1987 Buick grand national and now have a 21 hemi charger. They both sound excellent, not sure which sound I prefer, but the turbo v6 Buick was significantly quicker. If dodge made the turbo v6 sound and feel like the Buick it would do very well. It wouldn’t replace the hemi v8, but wouldn’t be a bad substitute.
If the speculations are true of a I6 version then it just sets up direct connection to sell those 5.7's, 6.2's, 6.4's and the Hellephant's for engine swaps at the dealership just like Don Yenko and Fred Gibb did in the 60s. If the dealerships won't offer an engine swap there will be plenty of speedshop/custom shops that will. Personally for me its not about how fast or quick the car is. I want to hear the sound of a V8. So, if the new Charger comes with a I6 I definitely will be getting the base model just to do a engine swap. #keepthev8alive #longlivethehemi
Wrong. Direct connection will offer packages to get hellcat horsepower out of the I6. People will find out very quickly that the big NA hemis can’t compete with the I6.
Reread my post as I said "I" meaning me myself and I want to hear the sound of a V8. I meaning me myself and I could careless about the performance or how fast or quick a I6 can do. I meaning me myself and I want a V8 not a 6 banger. Obviously government restrictions are determining what production will be. What if you could buy the cheapest model then also could buy a complete swap kit you could do yourself ? Kinda like stage kits

Most vehicles today are priced out of the range of average people in general. Not just Dodge but most any vehicle today. This is why people are either leasing or taking out 72-84 month loans on a vehicle.
Great video bud! Like you, I think I'd be more interested in the gas version as well. It's possible Dodge could throw a supercharged 6.2 in it. I wonder if they would possibly consider toying with the idea of a 6.4 variant? 🤔🤤
You know they aren't selling anything be cause of all the price gouging. The cost of all the things that you don't drive continues to climb. The last thing anyone will need this year is a new car except internet influencers.
I for it please make the ultimate version of the hellcat that we all wanted. Hellcat v8 with electric motors for awd. The holy grail would be a twin turbo hellcat on awd built with the electric assist. Or hell a built big cubic inch motor with a big blower and the ev awd. Either one would do nicely.
The Hemi is a poor cousin to the LS anyway. Taking ~200lbs off the nose of these new cars with an all aluminum I6 will do WONDERS for handling. Bring it on!
I have lost hope with Dodge. Watch it be a 100k + version of it. Besides they have done nothing to stop greedy dealership mark ups. Power dollars are back and a dealership around my area trying to sell an R/T for 55k and making it seem like it’s discounted with Dodge incentives 😀.

No V8 = no purchase. People will flock to older models and they will retain value well.

You'd buy a Toyota when Ford has a TTV6 that is easily the best in the market. That makes zero sense to me.

BOYCOTT STELLANTIS
I do but I have a friend that has a 300 so I keep an eye on what they're into next. What brings you here? You don't seem like a Mopar guy.
I am my 1st and 3rd car were Mopar. I also own a 2014 rt 6 peed challenger and a1997 dodge rM sport 4x4 1500 with a 5.9. Magnum so what are you talking about x. Stellantis is Mopar its Mopar I'm 60 how old are you so cuz I can compare notes with you all day and win😂
isnt the hurricane motor getting around the same gas mileage as a 6.4?
I’m definitely interested in the 25 Charger. So far I like what I have seen.
That’s what I’ve been waiting for.. able to beat a hellcat for scat price..
@@williamrose7818if you think it will be a scat price you’re wrong
@@williamrose7818scat price? you dreaming for sure.
@@williamrose7818You still kinda lose in comparison though because you have a 6 cylinder Charger
I’m thinking about buying a charger RT 2023 Southern California dealership are offering 3-6k off MSRP what should I pay for just the RT we looking at around 42-44k for one before taxes and fees and I won’t pay dealer add ons I’ll just walk away
In 2021 I paid 36k before taxes
So all wheel drive, EV or turbo 6. What exactly makes this a muscle car. It’s a sports car now not a muscle car.
Is the grand national a muscle car? Do you want Dodge to bring back the 440 six pack and make it run on leaded gas only?
Raceer x I no you just got a demon 170 but wood you consider a ev banshee my slef conbuston differently
I think that DODGE should save some of those HELLCAT ENGINES for a new VIPER !!
A midengine viper and that taller engine and supercharger would fit fine
I think it'd be better for a new viper to have a v10 like it did before
Not that the v8 is bad
Yeah. Call it the Corviper.
No thanks. Viper needs a V10.
Otherwise, let the Viper rest in peace.
Oh hell yeah!!!! Yes Dodge PLEASE make the hellcat engine an option in the new Charger!!!!! This is great news!!!
I'd ROCK a 375 horsepower Charger in the new body style and be happy with it stock! But we all know that engine can be made to run wonders!
The 2 door Charger is coming back as an EV
@@patcurrie9888
This video and other sources I've checked with suggest that it may be more expensive than just an EV model. Let's hope that Dodge hasn't gone full Kommie, like their Beeitch mom Stellantis is. Oops, too late, Dodge already Beeitched up, dam.
I bought a real Charger new in 1969 440 R/T for $3975. It also was rated at 375hp.
@@tim4269
I'd love to have that car today!
So what happens to the challenger?
Trump said he will bring back these cars.Remember to vote. We can save America
Neither had a stock exhaust, but my point stands.
Inline 6. Pay attention. With twice the horsepower as your g.n.
So again "IF" the new charger has two version electric and ice I meaning me myself and I will buy a base model just to do a V8 swap because I meaning me myself and I loves the sound of V8. Makes sense??? @meishere4429
Obviously government restrictions are determining what production will be. What if you could buy the cheapest model then also could buy a complete swap kit you could do yourself ? Kinda like stage kits
Sell extremely high priced fuel efficient base models then offer for $1 insane how dare you drivetrain upgrade kit. Now that's what I call a power dollar
Dodge need to put the hell cat motor and put it against the hurricane motor and show side by side that the hurricane motor is better then hellcats.
Doesn't matter to me what they may have, if it's not V8 Hemi Challenger, count me out. In a couple years, when my 21 scat T/A Challenger is paid off, I will look to add Mustang to our stable. Ford knows the market better.
Dudes who like v8s are stubborn. They rather their favorite brand go under trying to keep a v8 around with less performance than for them to evolve.
Sounds like Dodge is getting ready to Trample the hotrod market again.
Man I hope so. The way they rolled out the Charger, Challenger, Hemi, Hellcat, Demon, Redeye and the bodies on them, have been awesome to see.
I’m curious about the new Charger. EV or otherwise. I don’t think I’ll be purchasing a first year model though. Unless Dodge releases a Hellcat version. Until then… I’ll stick w/my Scat Pack. Thanks for the video update @RacerX
If it’s lighter, and comes with 3 pedals, with 500+ hp I would consider it.
I’ve got Just under 30k miles on my 19’ charger scat pack and it's paid off. Was considering giving it to Cadillac for a CT5 V. But if they drop the hellcat engine in the new body I’ll entertain that. I love my car but it was more fun before covid when it wasn't a job keeping it from being stolen🤯
Damn paid off ? With only 30k miles. That’s amazing
@@bustingyewls154 I had it since 2019 I’m a truck driver so I'm only able to drive it once or twice a month.
They starting to price out the average fans.
These vehicles were never designed for the average Joe even before the inflation and markups!
@@slimhardaway8yeah they were
Most vehicles today are priced out of the range of average people in general. Not just Dodge but most any vehicle today. This is why people are either leasing or taking out 72-84 month loans on a vehicle.
starting? lol
@@slimhardaway8 30k is affordable the avg car now is prob 40k hell r u saying
Shit look like those 2 door dodge Avengers from 20 years ago
The rear pillar and window reminds me of the '67 Charger. Nice!
EVs 👎
All wheel drive ? I have a 4X4 truck - It is very nice and works great ! Fun too .
I hope they make some of those new chargers 6 speed manuals
AGREED!!!!….they def need to come out with a six speed manual car
As much as you want one, manual vehicles just don't sell.
Racer X you are a class act!
Oh so the Chevy volt
