Excellent explanation, and very clear your english to me. Now, my question is how do I transform the particles to be a particular image that is distributed in space? Thanks
For some reason, my particles still don't collide with the plane despite the plane having rigid-body physics. Does anyone know what settings I need to enable? (Using Blender 4.0)
I think you have figured it out since your comment, but for anyone wondering, you need collision physics, and not rigid-body (though both can be activated at the same time)
@@takapapatapaka5326 I made a carpet using the particle system and I've added a table on top of it. Now the hair particles of the carpet clip through the table. Any idea on how I can fix that?
@@therealslin I just tried it quickly and got something kinda working. To sum up, you have a carpet, wich is a mesh with a particle system set to hair. In order to move away from the table, the "Hair Dynamics" tab should be activated. We also have a table, which is a simple mesh, with collision physics enabled. Now I got there, and despite moving the table in the editor, it did not affect the carpet's hair, I guess this is probably where you're at too. The trick here is to animate the table, so the simulation can be run when you press play. I placed the table above the carpet, inserted location keyframe, went to frame 10 or so, moved the table to its definitive position, and inserted a second location keyframe. Then I played the timeline from the start and then only did the hair bend around the table. What I don't know is how to make this effect permanent, so you don't have to play the animation everytime. I guess you could convert the particle system to mesh, but I think it's not ideal since it's not very optimized. Another way would be to render the animation only after the table "landed" on the carpet. Anyway, I hope you'll find what you need ! And good luck for your project :D
thank you so much for the tutorial :)
Just what I needed. really clear turtotial - thanks!!
Brilliant!! thank you for taking the time to explain!
I feel very relaxed after watching this

@@takapapatapaka5326 Thank you very muh for your effort! It does work now.
I love you! ♥
nice thank you :)
Very helpful..... That you👍🏼🙏🔥
What if you want your particles to interact with a Smoke simulation?
it doesnt rotate when colliding with each other
MY PARTICLES STILL SLIDE DESPITE FULL FRICTiON?
hi there.. i'm trying to make it snow inside a clear ball. it's emitting from a plane above, how to restrain the pariticles within the ball? thx
mine explode outward for no apparent reason
in blender 2.79 i could see the real particle size but in 3.1 and anything really above 2.8 i cannot
