Sometimes a refinement of a brilliant game is all that's needed to make a great sequel. Hades 2 get's it right, and its incredible how much content and polish we have for an early access title, especially when you consider some full blown releases of late. Love to everyone, Reggie xxx
Much love, looking forward to getting past the Sirens right now myself. I loved the first game and unlocked every weapon variant and ground out clears. I feel like I have many more things to experience to have a grasp on how I feel about it, but I am missing some things in terms of gameplay combat style. Hopefully the variants and the two more weapons (one I haven't unlocked, another isn't released yet) scatch some of the itches. I don't mind the HP I have right now, how many cards and what cards I'm using, but the armored enemies and long boss phases with crazy amounts of things on screen to dodge are getting to me in a way that the prior entry never did. If I remember right the first one only really started to click with me more after a few hours, afterall. The longer cooldown on dodge, the charged moves and cast I am under utilizing are probably the culprit. I guess the blame lies with me. I got really used to playing with the gauntlets at the end of Hades 1, where you are mashing and dashing all day.
Really good points mate, especially around the original Hades. Couldn’t agree more… I felt like it took me maybe 4 to 5 hours to truly understand and “get” what Hades was and how it was pushing me forward. It’s not that I didn’t like it, but it was only then when I got into a flow and rhythm. And I felt the same here, even in early access with still much to come. Appreciate the comment, cheers 🍻
Damn a 9 for early access is crazy, hades 1 was an absolute blast and its sequel sure as hell looks and sounds like one too, so it’s probably a very warranted score. Good review, cheers for the laughs throughout :)
Indeed mate… and I rarely ever give that score at the best of times. But it’s so well polished it’s almost weird to call it early access. It’s more complete and more fun that most full blown releases I’ve played of late. It’s a superb game! Appreciate the comment buddy! Cheers 🍻
The game atm is even on v0.9 so it may be soon-ish when 1.0 comes out but with more content. If Hades 1 was GotY, I definitely think Hades 2 is 100% gonna be GotY material as well
The one thing I dislike about doing a gaming channel is that I have to move onto the next game for review. And I have to say it’s been difficult with Hades 2 as it’s just so addictive that I haven’t yet been able to pull myself away!
Never played Hades 1 I should give 2 a go - as sometimes get bored and spamming in Diablo IV - but for some reason never got around to some games and this series is one. 🤔

Hahaha! And yes, a superb game already!

Supergiant would never make a cash grab, I'm loving it even in the unfinished state.
Exactly why I gave it a 9 score!

"It's like swapping Megan Fox for Margot Robbie."
Or Tori Black for Eva Lovia 🥸
