      hi bulu bhai.....why dont you do a video on gear ratios....and how manufactures dont often publish the gear ratio data.....gear ratios according to me deside the actual on road behaviour of a motorcycle or cars for thqt matter...agar aap ye video karte ho yoh this will be much liked by enthusuats who are imclined more towards tech behind engines...please reply

    Friends Both these bikes are equally good, I would suggest you better take a test ride of both the bikes after watching this video and try to observe the infos I have shared here while u test ride the bikes. May be then you can understand better which bike will be comfortable for you.

    I have riden interceptor quite a lot it's a great value for money bike & very good for touring after some essential mods.
    I know both these bikes IN & OUT.
    I own 390 adventure & reasons I considered buying it over the interceptor are :-
    1. Easy maneuverability
    2. No heating at all like Duke or RC 390 due to twin radiator fans
    3. More mileage 28-29 in city & 34 in highway
    4. Do it all bike can be taken to any terrain Can do hardcore off-roading also but needs some mods & skills.
    5. Damn cheap maintenance cost & spares cost. Paid service - 2500 max
    6. Good for tall riders.
    7. Big bike road presence
    8. Unbelievable travel events like PRO-XP & lot more conducted by ktm almost every week a long tour across India & near city much bigger & better facilities are provided for very less cost.
    9. Ktm mobile app has lots of features & less glitches than RE. Service guy can collect our bike anywhere in India.
    10. Only bike with Cornering abs under 10lakhs. Only bike with Lean sensitive traction control under 6 lakhs.
    11. Stock bike goes 175 - 180 top speed.
    11. After proper ECU upgrade better than powertronics . I bought bestadventuresportbikes ecu. K&N air filter & After market exhaust. My bike got whopping 50.5 bhp & 44 Nm torque figures.
    Believe me after this upgrade my bike can do 185kmph top speed at 10000rpm range. Still 2000 rpm is unused.
    Done 14 teeth sprocket change so top speed is around 175 kmph
    But believe me the brute pull after the mods & ecu upgrade is far stronger than of interceptor because of the Power to weight ratio which is so huge after upgrade that almost all times i won top speed race with RE twins easily that too without using the quickshifter.
    12. Quickshifter became butter smooth after ecu upgrade.
    13. Unfortunately RE twin has no BHP increase after Ecu remapping only slight torque increase 55Nm torque. Big bore project is available but I am seriously concerned about the heating issue after that.
    So if you ask me in terms of Power & Speed adventure 390 is superior after ecu upgrade, air filter & exhaust mods.
    My total mods costed me 5 lakh including the bike.
    14. There is no case of chassis break in adventure 390 unlike interceptor i was shocked to see some RUclips videos.
    15. Light weight easy to pick up. After exhaust change without removing catalytic converter weight drop is 5.5 kgs.
    16. I can ride ktm adventure 390 wearing shorts no heating issue at all even in city traffic.
    17. The alloys are stronger than i thought can take huge beating.
    You can watch the World Record of Spiti valley on 390 adventure .
    18. Lots of decal sticker options for 390 adventure are available.

      @@technorohit5409 if you ride for long distances more than 600kms etc & want to explore India & also want to ride in himalayas do off road & stuff, I would recommend you adventure 390 with fully adjustable suspension variant .
      If exhaust sound is very important for you & you already have a bike or scooty to ride in the city & want to buy a secondary bike . If you ride casually highway rides not more than 400kms long ride then I would recommend you interceptor 650 👍

    Gr8 vlog as people have come to expect from you! You've covered all the valid points very well. Yes, I have to agree, ultimately, which bike you decide on depends on - Budget, Purpose. These definitely determine the one you pick.

    I was confused between 390 single vs 650 twin engine wise......but at last I decided to go with bigger 650 twin as that bike will age very slowly as compared to high reving 390 single also it takes more to maintain that ktm engine with its valve issues (identified world wide ask Ari Jennings).
    Besides fewer the electronics better are the chances for repair in emergency situation, also analogue vs digital, always analogue you can trust.....
    This was for me, can be different for you☺️
    But this is my forever bike i won't sell it even if i get a new one so i choose 2 pistons vs 1

    Thank you for this lovely video, just wanted to share my experience:
    I am over 6 ft tall and I ride interceptor 650 and I use it for daily commute to my office (in moderate-heavy traffic ). Trust me I find it very comfortable and enjoining maybe that is because of my height and as you mentioned low end torque & also the breaking of this bike. What I believe if someone is over 5.8 he can use this bike in city traffic as well. This bike has very nice road presence.

    On highway also, 390 Adv seems better choice because of the wind protection ( which may be upgraded from current windscreen) and better posture. Also, the higher end is good.

    Bulu bhai, what's a good modification? Changing handle bars or fitting handle bar risers? If changing handle bars, then which is a good replacement? Pls also let me know where can I get the replacement in Bangalore. For 650s seat comfort, is it ok to fit touring seat? Or should I alter existing seat itself? Thanks!

    I find the ktm's 390 engine to be less reliable, the ktm service says that you need to replace every part of engine like piston head, cylinder kit , camshafts etc. after its hits 30k odo , mine got seized at 24k when i was doing jammu - kanyakumari ride, sadly i had to give up my ride in mumbai. ( the engine oil was draining even after toping up at 300kms)
    Though i dont have any idea about the royal enfield twin cylinder engine life.
    Bulu bhai, please let me know about your opinion when you're free !

      Haan that is because of the high compression engines, the reliability for sure is a big concern.. RE are very unpredictable that way, some guys have done close to lakhs without issues and some face issues after 40k kms.
      With Interceptor since it is a new bike so can't ckmment.

    Bulu, I have a 5 year old Harley 750... I have tires from MRF (the rear tire with new pattern treads)... Went all the way from Chennai/Bangalore to Ahmedabad (Sabarmati Ashram and back for a crowd funding project run)...What would you suggest? Keep the bike or get one of these new age bikes... Cost of ownership for a Harley is high of course but then they are cult stuff... Please do suggest...!

    I have a ktm 390 adv, however I am in love with the modifiable strength and simplicity of the 650 interceptor. I cannot have both, I am debating whether to sell it and buy the interceptor, how functional do you see it for travel and a little brown .

      Don't sell 390 and buy the interceptor...wait until RE updates the 650twins properly.... interceptor has a better engine but it is not a very user friendly bike like the KTM is interns of convenience.......and RE can be frustrating sometimes if it break down

      Aah man that tube tyre is a headache in case of puncture.
      As on date go for 390 adv because what I understand u r not doing hard core off road so better go with 390

    Nice comparison. I like both bikes but since my usage in highway rides not having tubeless tyres and un shielded exhaust forces me to think away from interceptor. How abt durability?

      Haan so right now I am selling all other bikes n holding just the Africa tein n 390 adv.
      Africa twin for all big n long rides.
      390 adv for city rides and some trail rides n sometimes I may transfer the bike on train and then feom there will eide to destination like I did for Nepal upper mustang.. in that case its better to send a lighter n cheaper Motorcycle there I will use.

    Bullu bhai, i have riding royal enfield thunderbird for the past 12 yrs, i have bought every variant of this model, but i'm sceptical to buy the interceptor as my only bike, i like this bike very much and dying to buy one, but my concerns are that i do trips only once a year and the rest of the year is in city that also in Kolkata (you can understand the traffic situation). In that case will Intercepter be a good choice or Himalayan is a better option ? I personally like the Intercepter but will it be practical for daily use.....

    Bulu Bhai during this ride Outex was installed on Int 650?? So far how's it's performance and feedback if possible.

      Naah bro outex was installed way later... Outex is good kit bro but everything depends on who has installed, for me the installation was poor for which couple of places air was leaking, but I have seen some friends using on Africa twin are very happy.

    To my experience, the simple structure of Interceptor at its price point is an excellent proposition. But I feel that KTM 390 is vastly better "value for money" looking at the electronics, safety features, ergonomics etc offered with it, as it offers the driving safety features of that level which used to be offered till recently only with the bikes costing Rs 8.00 - 10.00 Lacs or more! We should be thankful to KTM for providing the kind of driving safety features at this price point. Whatever one says, the safety feature like "cornering ABS" proves to be so important at twisted roads and in situations of incidental miscalculation by the rider, even occasionally! Its various driving modes provide considerable assistance in uncertain and unpredictable weather conditions! As a whole "package", it's sheer value for money! Actually, it has raised the bar about "value for money" propositions in India. Looking at pretty widespread dealership of KTM in India (though Royal Enfield is still the leader in this regard), one can feel assured about the necessary support in case of any difficulty. Another advantage with KTM is its"rally experience" which has been proved by overwhelming majority of titles it has earned in the toughest rallies all over the world. This brings about a lot of "dependability factor" in design and construction of the bikes. Though RE has improved a lot on quality factor in interceptor range, it still has to achieve the "consistency" factor for time to come!
    Ideally, a fantastic combination of "best value for money" bike would be Himalayan 650 kind of bike which may have a lot of grunt, off road capabilities, higher speeds highway ridability, reliability etc, inbuilt. Alas, we need to wait for it, indefinitely.

    Hi..hope everything is alright..I want to ask you one thing reg .my bike interceptor 650. I m facing starting problem now..fuel pump is not working..I have checked battery and relays also. Its seems .Bike is just 5 months old KM drove approx 1100 . Before this I need to replace the front frok and speedometer console...this is my 6th royal enfield motorcycle I m having..pls advice...thanks and regards

      Naah bro don't do it, u may not find the 390adv any better then the duke 390 except the seating posture.. better to wait I have heard even Honda is coming up with some more bikes.

    But ktm goes till 155 approx and interceptor goes till 180 after gurusevak and ktm is really bad at low end and there are alot of vibration...like adv is not good at anything but interceptor can do everything 👍..

    May be a comparison of 390adv with the Himalayan would have been more apt.
    Have done 12k+ km on my Interceptor & also have a little bit of experience with the ktm390 ( not the 390adv though) & I find them a world apart. KTM vibrates a lot more & absolutely disgusting at crawling speeds while the Interceptor I feel is the best thing to have happened to the long distance biking scene in the affordable section in the Indian bike market.

      Yes I have said the exact same thing in the video, ktm lacks low end n interceptor is best on highways.
      The only reason for comparison is the similar price point for which ppl r confused

    I tried the 390 and 650 in drag race, KTM didn't even come close, 650 took off very well and maintained the top speed of 155-160 KTM didn't even cross 155. Just want to let you know.

    Ktm seriously Dada Mai khud 390 ko lekar Zojilla aur Changla pass m low rpm ko bura jhela hu .Bar bar cluth ka use karna parta hi.
    Anyway Interceptor owner and quite happy.

    I travel 60km a day for office commute (30km one side) in heavy traffic of Bangalore. I was supposed to book interceptor this month because I fell in love with it when I test drove it. I love the refined engine of the interceptor compared to not so smooth high compression engine of 390 . My question is @bulubiker how difficult will it be to travel on a interceptor especially for my type of commute?

      Aah man for that kind of city ride its little difficult on Interceptor... I would suggest u take a bike on rent for a day and try riding it in the bumper to bumper trafgic n see how it feels... If u r ok then go for it

      Naah all the electronics may not be needed. But cornering Abs is something interesting. But if u r not doing off roads then Interceptor is best.

    Yess, Rock Garden climb is soooo scary. I was there on a wagon R taxi, boy o boy it was fucking scary. You literally feel like getting off the car and walking . If cars brakes fail, you are just gone.

      Almost after your 10000 km, its better to change the oring of the water pump and use a good coolant oil not the green color one normaly seen on ktm and bajaj bikes..

    Bulu bhai....i have one question....
    Since you made this video and compared the int 650, i also want to know about its direct competitor the G310GS. The reason I am asking is because, as a bike, they are quite close for the purpose. However, considering the heritage of GS, and then the 390, its a difficult choice.

      Srinjoy,
      I had been seeing quite a lot of videos about the 310GS on Internet byt trust bro I rode that bike personally didn't like the engine atall, no power it vibrates a lot. Only where it is better I felt was the suspensions r little better.
      But otherwise it doesn't have anything compared to the bigger GS.
      Second maintenance is way more expensive bro, almost triple to that of ktm.
      I would suggest u to go for 390 adv, its way more value for money then the GS.
      You have cornering abs that helps u in ghat corners, traction control, off road abs these things really help...

      Bulu Patnaik yes....that I agree. I saw most people going for the 14 tooth sprocket during the first service. Is that from KTM? I mean will the second batch of bikes come with the 14 tooth one from the factory? Because this is one thing which solves the major problem of the 390 adv i guess
