Frankie and Aretha are timeless. I can hear some of Frankie's influence on Adam Levine of Maroon 6. Aretha's voice is crystal clear, soulful, and beautiful.
This performance is iconic! I’ve been looking for this for so long! Thanks for uploading this. My aunt’s hubby loved Frankie, as he himself is an Italian Jersey boy and he met my aunt at a school dance in the late sixties. Both of them love Aretha too. So, I’m looking for a late sixties theme for their surprise 54th Anniversary party. It’s in November. I’m excited to celebrate with them, as they stayed together during a time when people hated the idea of Italian men marrying Black women.
The great Frankie Valli and the greatest singer to ever live, everybody is just playing for 2nd place ARETHA FRANKLIN is just the best to ever sing a song
This is a masterpiece I wish we could buy it on I tunes I could listen to Aretha all day and I must say Frankie did a hell of a good job keeping up with her and the backup singers it don’t get any better then this phil caggiano
It's astounding how effortless Aretha was here. Easily singing her face off, while playing the piano so masterfully. Aretha is the Queen, but her piano skills don't get enough praise.
Aretha is best on this song when she sings it with her sisters carolyn and erma. Not Frankie, I dont care what no one has to say its just true. The queen stands alone and always will.
Loved watching this on U tube. Love the way Frankie did not confine himself to one style of music or sector of fans and constantly stretched his musical wings. Of course he must have loved working with Aretha. She had the most soulful, heart-filled voice that reached he stratosphere. God Bless Aretha and her family and friends.
nunca había escuchado esta versión y la verdad q hoy justo hoy es lo único q hace feliz a mi corazon señor gracias x mandarme nuevamente una señal , hoy justo hoy es un día para querer olvidar y delos cuales siempre se recuerda
It's clear Frankie listened to A LOT of Ms. Franklin or she may have outright coached him for this performance as she did with many performers like Tom Jones. The backup singers are so rhythmic. Just fabulous.
The guy singing was so funny @ :43. Was he trying to sing like Rea? Wow. Aretha really IS the Queen. She has such influence. And those background singers are GREAT! Rea is so gracious singing with Frankie Valli. I KNOW he just loved this!!
Ok. I like this duet now. Especially her piano accompaniment. I have listened to it so many times now. They should try to do this again. I like this version more than the version of her alone. She should be on the piano again. That would be really REALLY nice the message. l think he was overwhelmed here. She was like a power-house. I don't even know how to really describe it. I didn't even notice the background singers until my I'd watched and listened several times. Also, did they cut her microphone? He was good, but he should have had the other 'Seasons' with him because she gave him the whole year and a hurricane. I really like him though. After finding this last year, I looked him up and he now resides on a few of my play lists on Spotify. I love him and I watched 'Jersey Boys.' I liked that too!

Yeah, plus the sound quality of live performances back then didn't quite have the "polished" audio quality that they do today... It was more "real-sounding" back then, like a nightclub lounge act instead of the overly-produced perfection of what we are used to in today's TV programs.
Aretha was known as the "female Ray Charles" in the beginning of her career. Ray Charles himself admitted as much and they made a great duo. Now, why was Frankie Valli at the piano with her?
Only because considering she could never sing a song the same way twice. Not a knock, but this was why the Think scene in Blues Brothers looks so awkwardly cut with close ups of her singing compared to every other shot of that scene
Listen to the song, don’t look at the video and notice how fantastic BOTH of them ARE! Aretha’s voice is distinctive but If you didn’t KNOW that it was Franki Valli and had to guess who it was you would think it was an elder female Jazz singer who is JAMMIN!! Play it for someone else and try it! I KNOW they wouldn’t who it is and they would LOVE IT!!!(You have to block when they announce them at beginning)!
Frankie and Aretha are timeless. I can hear some of Frankie's influence on Adam Levine of Maroon 6. Aretha's voice is crystal clear, soulful, and beautiful.
You aint never lied about Adam Levine sounding like Frankie.
I loved thay crystal clarity of Aretha's voice.
Aretha Franklin was a great piano player; this often gets overlooked because of her incredible voice.
This performance is iconic! I’ve been looking for this for so long! Thanks for uploading this.

Aretha is KILLING!!! Dam. The more I listen the more in awe I am of her.
Aretha was a cute lady , and she was the Queen of soul
The great Frankie Valli and the greatest singer to ever live, everybody is just playing for 2nd place ARETHA FRANKLIN is just the best to ever sing a song

You're clearly right about Cissy Houston being in that background.
Aretha is just a force of nature. Her voice is erupting like a volcano.
Fearless Queen Aretha at the Piano is awesome and those background vocals ,and Frankie holding on for ride , beautiful
Wow she is so young and thin!!! Though her voice has changed through the years,,, she is still the Queen..
Alright! Alright!!!😂😂😂❤❤❤❤❤
A singers singer. Her voice cuts str8 thru the music. And shes best at the piano. She controls it. RIP
Aretha is best on this song when she sings it with her sisters carolyn and erma. Not Frankie, I dont care what no one has to say its just true. The queen stands alone and always will.
Yes undeed!!
All I can do is shake my head now that's TALENT
Aretha sung the hell out of this song.
Best version of this song EVER! Plus Aretha on keys... Wow!
That’s Life
R.I.P Aretha Franklin. Hope you are now in a better place.
wow, she's really beautiful back in those days, she's the diva of the diva...
so.... soulful

My jaw dropped when I realized he sang both " I love you baby" and " December, 1963 (oh what a night)"
This was priceless!
RIP ARETHA FRANKLIN!!!!
great singers!!!
Ladies and Gentleman...The one and only Queen of Soul!!
Yes lord!!
Love this!! Their voices compliment each other!
Wow, I think they're great together. Can't get enough. No doubt she is the best.
nunca había escuchado esta versión y la verdad q hoy justo hoy es lo único q hace feliz a mi corazon señor gracias x mandarme nuevamente una señal , hoy justo hoy es un día para querer olvidar y delos cuales siempre se recuerda
I also love when u can finally hear the background singers clear and they are straight on point ,, i mean sharp... they come out wit....ThATS LIFE!...
ARETHA UR D BEST!!!
Stunning
Aretha in '67. Whew.
I hear Cissy Houston in the background singers.
Last note you couldn't even here Frankie...Thanx Aretha! :)
Dang, Frankie has a high voice - not falsetto, either!. And Aretha is . . . well, Aretha.
Rest in Peace angel.
Frankie and Aretha were both great singers. However, Aretha was really laying it down in the day.
Frankie's pitch is high, but he doesn't come out as clear as the Queen of soul...i like this song, and they both do it justice...
ARETHA!!!! ARETHA!!!!! ARETHA!!!!!!!
Aunt Re has gone on with the Lawd, but she tore that up!
Aretha's Heart"n"Soul meets with Frankie's Love"n"Passion(fried chicken and chicken catchatori, get it?) A one of a kind dynamic duo performance.
It's clear Frankie listened to A LOT of Ms. Franklin or she may have outright coached him for this performance as she did with many performers like Tom Jones. The backup singers are so rhythmic. Just fabulous.
.....back on top in June.....
Saying a little prayer for you Aretha and Frankie you hang in there.
Damn! Got-damn! The Queen nearly knocked him right off that stool without even trying.
The guy singing was so funny @ :43. Was he trying to sing like Rea? Wow. Aretha really IS the Queen. She has such influence. And those background singers are GREAT! Rea is so gracious singing with Frankie Valli. I KNOW he just loved this!!
branden burks Him Has a name.Musical Icon Frankie Valli!
The Four Seasons Aretha and Frankie doing a single together would have been kick -ass!

branden burks TRUE!
they sound good together...
That's life (that's life), that's what all the people say
You're ridin' high in April, shot down in May
But I know I'm gonna change that tune
When I'm back on top, back on top in JuneI said that's life (that's life), and as funny as it may seem
Some people get their kicks stompin' on a dream
But I don't let it, let it get me down
'cause this fine old world, it keeps spinnin' aroundI've been a puppet, a pauper, a pirate, a poet, a pawn and a king
I've been up and down and over and out and I know one thing
Each time I find myself flat on my face
I pick myself up and get back in the raceThat's life (that's life), I tell you I can't deny it
I thought of quitting, baby, but my heart just ain't gonna buy it
And if I didn't think it was worth one single try
I'd jump right on a big bird and then I'd flyI've been a puppet, a pauper, a pirate, a poet, a pawn and a king
I've been up and down and over and out and I know one thing
Each time I find myself layin' flat on my face
I just pick myself up and get back in the raceThat's life (that's life), that's life and I can't deny it
Many times I thought of cuttin' out but my heart won't buy it
But if there's nothin' shakin' come this here July
I'm gonna roll myself up in a big ball a-and die
Great.
He made them play.
People underestimating franki Valli. Smh.
Yeah, plus the sound quality of live performances back then didn't quite have the "polished" audio quality that they do today... It was more "real-sounding" back then, like a nightclub lounge act instead of the overly-produced perfection of what we are used to in today's TV programs.
It takes a lot of courage to duet with Aretha. I mean, who's going to sing better?
Literally no one. Idk frank sinatra? Jazz and soul is a cool combination
@@swag4life325Aretha ended him with ease.
Frankie and Aretha were both great singers but hey... Aretha y'all.
She's still alive btw.
You were saying
You were saying. (Corona)
Theres a tv commercial with this song circulating now. A guy sings it tho.
Play Queen. Play!
Me envantan

🙏🏿
No, the lyrics say " When I'm back on top in june" Not when i'm back on top of you. Aretha was Definitely married to Ted White in 1967
haha, you could tell in the beginning he was like oh shit, what the fuck am I doing here!
😂😂😂😂😂
Give up Frankie. You're out classed.
Aretha was known as the "female Ray Charles" in the beginning of her career. Ray Charles himself admitted as much and they made a great duo. Now, why was Frankie Valli at the piano with her?
Silence Frankie! Let Aretha sing it! xD
I don't even think Aretha's mic is on
Edward Wheeler It is, it's just not right up on the Mic.
And still couldn’t be drowned out! Effortless power 🙌🏽
"ill call me up national airlines get on a jet and fly" ... Nice twist Valli!
ummm no, Aretha sang that line on her album
Edward Wheeler l
Thank you Edward! Somebody TRULY is not listening!!
@@edwardwheeler197Thank you.
I think you pulled out the race card in record fast time. Listening to this, you must admit he sounds like he's hoarse but in a high key.
Frankie sounds like shit here..what are you talking about! Just saw Aretha in concert and she still sounds great!
no you shot up! frankie valli is a good singer
Exactly
You don't sing with Aretha,period!
Only because considering she could never sing a song the same way twice. Not a knock, but this was why the Think scene in Blues Brothers looks so awkwardly cut with close ups of her singing compared to every other shot of that scene
He sounds absolutely horrible compared to her voice...ugh
Frankie sounds like a drowning cat.
😂😂😂😂😂
David Bryant lmao

Right? White ppl cannot sing AT ALL. Like they all sound horrible, especially back then. 😭
@@ana2bana1Aretha only sounds good.
