We can add the named roadsign on the path to the village (in a place where you would see the village, but wouldn't be yet near it), and by that I don't mean just a waystone or a Minecraft sign, but like a carved rock/wooden statue (or a carved piece of sorts) with the name and visual details/pieces, symbolising the village and its craftsmen, maybe with viking shields/helmets on it, maybe even the helmets and goods high on the stick poles. Hi, first video. Loved it. I've actually burnt charcoal at a weird school I went to. The smallest bit of realism that is lacking are a stream or pond nearby. For safety reasons, and because if the wood inside gets an excess of air it will all burn up (really quickly), so they could save some of the charcoal by stopping the flames. But this would of course ruin some of the harvest as well.

I've never come across you or any of your videos but just the start of the videos and all the fan made theories about the pillars, this modded lets play is probably really damn epic. I've only watched 1min42 seconds of this video but i imagine the pillars to be bones, a spine of a giant dinosaur like titan which once roamed around the earth as king, with the remainder of the skeleton being buried under hundreds of thousands of kilograms of dirt and impenetrable stone, with the village nearby slowly dying and frequent earthquakes laying more dirt on top, this skeleton would soon be forgotten and never to be found again by humanity. All the details you put and the atmosphere you've created are making this world alive and I think this is one of the hardest thing to do in Minecraft. I just love watching The Hammer !

I have no idea if this will go along with what you what the world will become, But my idea is that these stones are much older than everything. These videos are great, they have a huge production value. Your style and editing is smooth amd funny, but also sophisticated with the cinematic style. Keep doing this, I will ne forever greatful for it! Hope you have a great day.
ayyy my comment made it into the video!! i also extremely relate to "wandering around the things you build just to look at them". i spent hours walking around the custom forest in my single-player world, sometimes turning on shaders to see the sun rays breaking through the canopy. it’s quite a nice payoff for the work you put into your creation.
This is literally the first video I have seen from you, and I'm HOOKED! Your video style is insanely polished.. and the music, BY YOU? You're super talented!
Wow! Just found your channel @lowresbones This build is amazing!!! This is my first time watching one of your videos and omg this is so cool as a builder my self I find it so interesting and cool the mods you’ve added and how you’ve implemented them into your buildings definitely gonna check out the rest of this series and also gonna suscribe
saw this on my recommendation, new subscriber lmao. also these builds remind me of skyrim and honestly i bet someone could make parts if skyrim with this mod
i personally choose to believe that the stone spikes were once used as part of a defensive wall! with wood in between the massive spikes, it rotted and fell away, leaving just the supports!
If you want to go detailed, charcoal burners used to install those piles near rivers, for obvious reasons. The process was lasting about a week, and they would control the process regularly, creating air holes, or filling em up again to prevent wood pile from completely burning up or extinguishing completely. For that reason they would have had a ladder to climb up, as it was easier done at the top (imagine creating a hole at the bottom of a dirt pile..) It could also be nice adding some wood piles :)
I think it'd be a good detail exploration to open up one of the dirt mounds and expose the finished charcoal inside, and have a lump of dirt to the side, as they have to remove it once its done "cooking"
you should add the enhanced visuals mod, it totally fits the theme of this modpack! (and it may be a little bit horrendously nerve-racking but you don't need to worry about that)
Just found this channel and I am LOVING the cinematic shots you do in this series! I think shaders in minecraft don't usually fit the blocky aesthetic but the way you build and design your world just fits extremely well.
Hey! Been binging this for a couple days, really awesome series! Anyways, a couple of ideas for ya, -For your feasting hall, or maybe a separate building, Norsemen would hang their meat and fish and stuff high-up from their ceilings, as the smoke from a fireplace would dwell there and help preserve said meat. It could make for some cool decoration/attention to detail! -Finishing that stream near your starter cave-house (if you haven't already) -a privy, AKA, a hole to poo in, lol. Maybe near some water, as that's how some would clean up. -a place of worship? From what I read online, they usually didn't build chapels and stuff (until Christianity), and instead chose natural features like weird-rocks/weird-trees/waterfalls/such, but they'd usually mark them in one way or another, which would look cool. Anyways! Hope you return to this Village again in the future, even briefly. It's turning out really nice! Or even a similar idea in another location.
Hey man am on the third episode now and I need to say that I love this series, I love what u do and please don't stop, keep building and creating beautiful things!
Lore-wise, I really think you can tie the tree portal into norse mythology. I've mentioned before that it could represent an offshoot of Yggdrasil, the world tree that connects the various realms, and since it leads to the Nether, perhaps that's what inspired the legends of Muspelheim, the realm of fire. In fact, it is said that during Ragnarok, the sons of Muspelheim will burn the other realms, and this tree might just have started the vikings' fear of this invasion. As for the portal itself, it could be some kind of bifrost, though the original one only connected Midgard(Earth) and Asgard, so it could also be something different. Perhaps whatever destroyed the tree is at fault. If this tree was some kind of avatar of Yggdrasil, then whatever powerful monster's or god's attack managed to destroy it, was strong enough to tear into a different world and left a permanent rift. This rift might also attract or let through fae and other dangerous entities and the stone structures around the tree were left either as a warning or a barrier to protect the village.

Haha yes exactly that. Climbing up and down hills to see different angles etc.
This is literally the first video I have seen from you, and I'm HOOKED! Your video style is insanely polished.. and the music, BY YOU? You're super talented!
Wow! Just found your channel @lowresbones
This build is amazing!!! I had no idea such detail could be found in Minecraft
Loved the brewing area in that tree stump, although my OCD was going berserk for some reason over the roof you build... can't think of a different way of doing it though so oh well :'D
My first video of this guy.. I love this already. It’s like Minecraft.. but not Minecraft.. but it’s still Minecraft. Truly amazing!
Wow, this is the first episode of your series that i watched and it's really amazing :) It's so calm but also inspiring, interesting and fantastic
this new skyrim update is crazy
Ooo nice! Congrats on 50k :D!! Sorry I’m late! This series tho is just *chefs Kiss*
i personally choose to believe that the stone spikes were once used as part of a defensive wall! with wood in between the massive spikes, it rotted and fell away, leaving just the supports!
If you want to go detailed, charcoal burners used to install those piles near rivers, for obvious reasons.
The process was lasting about a week, and they would control the process regularly, creating air holes, or filling em up again to prevent wood pile from completely burning up or extinguishing completely. For that reason they would have had a ladder to climb up, as it was easier done at the top (imagine creating a hole at the bottom of a dirt pile..)
It could also be nice adding some wood piles :)
Thanks for the advice!!
@@lowresbones Thanks for caring a little a bout realism, really enjoy watching this kind of builds !
I think it'd be a good detail exploration to open up one of the dirt mounds and expose the finished charcoal inside, and have a lump of dirt to the side, as they have to remove it once its done "cooking"
Cool idea!
Congratz on hitting the algorithm, youtube led me here. Binged all of thr Hammer yesterday and I love it. Can't wait for the next episode!
Hell yeah! Welcome to the history lesson where people teach me new things everyday about Vikings!
you should add the enhanced visuals mod, it totally fits the theme of this modpack! (and it may be a little bit horrendously nerve-racking but you don't need to worry about that)
I had a been watch all your videos and they’re pretty entertaining. I’m looking forward to the next season.
Oh so cool, you even do builds with conquest modpack, im very happy to see that :p
Just found this channel and I am LOVING the cinematic shots you do in this series! I think shaders in minecraft don't usually fit the blocky aesthetic but the way you build and design your world just fits extremely well.
THE QUIET FOR THAT TIME DURING THE SHOTS OF THE VILLAGE.
Reminded me of a Primitive Technology video loool
nice work
Hey! Been binging this for a couple days, really awesome series!
Anyways, a couple of ideas for ya,
-For your feasting hall, or maybe a separate building, Norsemen would hang their meat and fish and stuff high-up from their ceilings, as the smoke from a fireplace would dwell there and help preserve said meat. It could make for some cool decoration/attention to detail!
-Finishing that stream near your starter cave-house (if you haven't already)
-a privy, AKA, a hole to poo in, lol.
I just binged all 12 of these! Love these videos :) very cool.
Just watch this entire series in under 24 hours, keep the great job, I'm loving it
Bring back badd times pls I loved the series
Aww thanks 🙏 who knows when/if we will ever see that series again. I do miss it though
@@lowresbones Oh thanks for replying and pls do consider bringing back baad times whenever you are ready
Yooo you know so much! Super cool ideas thanks!
I've been on RUclips for over a decade. I have never subscribed to somebody after watching only one video before. I only watched 8 minutes of your video and am now subscribed. Very quality content
Just got recommended to this video and I love your style. It's a bit like old school let's play but it's fresh at the same time. Keep up the good work 🙌🙌🙌
I watched the whole series in one go, so enjoyable.
