Wakanda Forever was like watching GoodTimes after they killed off James Evans...an made Florida Evans the head of the family...😒
Naw yo, naw 😅
This is so accurate, it's scary lol
😂😂😂😂😂
Wow I have been trying to explain the empty feeling this movie gave me and you just summed it up perfectly.
Was she the head, or were we all just dead inside? I didn't see that episode until sometime in the early 2000s, and I just remember feeling sad. James was still respected. I didn't feel as though he was being replaced by a feminist agenda, but rather it was life.
Perhaps it's time to look back into the history of it, and I'll see something else.
I heard a good analogy of this movie. It's like you go to a restaurant, you order the lobster. After waiting a long time they bring you a steak and a pretty damn good one too and it's amazing
But you ordered the lobster
How can KILLING LEAD CHARACTER OFF SCREEN BETWEEN MOVIES be "well done"?!?
It wasn’t easy but it was very tasteful and as properly executed as one could imagine. Give some credit to the fact this WAS NOT EASY FOR RG or any of the writers. And they still did an excellent job. Learn how to see the beauty in things instead of thinking you could do better. If you got a great idea, I’d love to read it
There was nothing tasteful about incorporating the real life death of the actor in this fictional story. To think that was possibly the same way Chadwick died with his family around trying to wish for the inevitable not to happen. For them to put that in the movie is far from well done or tasteful!!!
Everyone’s opinion does count and I hear/read ya! It seems you are definitely in a small minority though. Not sure what anyone could say that was logically distasteful about that scene. I don’t think RG ever said they wrote that scene to be the same as what happened to CB in real life. And why you are equating the two, I don’t get? But you are in the camp of recasting. I get that.
My guess is they had many options on the table for how they wanted to show TChallas death and choose what that could best execute.
@@mrgrahamtu so let me ask you, have you ever known someone who died from cancer? Have you stayed by someone as they slowly slipped away? That’s what was portrayed in the beginning of that film which in fact could have been how things went for Chadwick. You don’t have to be told what is going on to understand what is going on. RG and NM has made it to where the actor and the character are one in the same and they are not! To have him die of an undisclosed illness, one that he kept secret -much like Chadwick- is definitely mirroring the death of CB. Also it is not consistent with the character we have been shown T’Challa to be. So yes, it was very distasteful!
@@mrgrahamtu It was tasteful? How?? It boggles my mind how ppl have this weird sense that somehow the CHARACTER needs to have the same fate as the ACTOR. It was horrible done. T’Challa was killed off screen in the most unheroic way. Plus, the fact that he didn’t tell his family, his kingdom and left his son. So he’s a bad son, a bad king and a bad father. Plus, they made T’Challa a hypocrite. They did T’Challa extremely dirty.
There are latino super heroes but Marvel won't touch them.
I agree the actors and the director did a great job for what they had to work with.
Honestly I didn’t feel much for shuri. I felt the movie was rushed to get us to feel for her. She played the role well but I couldn’t feel much for her outside of what happen in the middle.. Angela did an amazing job
Letitia is subtle in her acting
Same
I believe the comics retroactively established Namor as also being a mutant for some reason. But it was never a big aspect of his character. It was mostly just a bit of Marvel trivia that Namor was also technically a mutant, even tho he never had much to do with Mutants or the X-Men.
It's a deep cut that they threw in to seem like they care about the source material.
you actually are clueless when it comes to Namor. Read up.
Again, a neophyte comic reader. Namor has been the first mutant for almost 20 years and he has been in the X-Men books for at least the last five years.
Namor was introduced in 1939.
@@clementmckenzie7041 Last five years? LOL
Namor is not defined by the last five years. And all Marvel comics have sucked for a decade. Adaptable comic canon ends around 2010.
@@GeekOwtLowd what you mean is you haven't read a comic since 2010 and you never actually read a Namor book. I did misspeak he has been with the X-Men since 2015. He was called a mutant in his first appearance. In 1939. Marvel would connect that to other Mutants in the Marvel universe 20 years ago.
First it was the Woman King, now the Black Pantherette 2; next Bladea, and Spawnisha. Woke Marvel/Disney is bent on removing all toxic masculinity from entertainment.
🤭
Most of which isn't even toxic.
It’s just this movie. A male black Panther will return. Relax.
Then spider womania
I agree with your comment but there’s nothing ‘toxic’ about masculinity. That’s just some modern day feminist bullshit
Namor is a mutant broski, he's marvels first mutant
Blue Mexicans?
Well you never disappoint. Guess I will wait for it to come to D+ which should be by Christmas 😂
3:30
Lol omg I never thought of that, it does look like their doing Kamehameha/Hadouken 🤣
They should have recasted the actor. Black Panther the character is bigger than any actor. Many ppl have played james bond, spiderman, superman etc. A character does not die becos an actor who played it died. This is just bad storytelling. Black Panther as a symbol is bigger than an actor. There are plenty of talented black actors in hollywood who should have been given the opportunity to try thier take on the legendary character. Killing of the character is a disservice to the fans.
No point recasting if you plan to gender swap, because that itself IS recasting!!
Plan just got sped up/skipped a few steps as Chad died.
Same destination, just 1~2 movies early.
U said everything I was thinking 💯
Him being some kind of Avatar for Kukulkan/Quetzalcoatl(the feathered serpent) adds more to the character in my opinion. And his command of the land ,sea(snakes/serpents) and air (feathers 🪶/ birds).
You're right. Like in the intro of BP1, where a shaman from the tribe get a vision from Baast and the same from "Talocan".🤣😂
Namor is a mutant in the comics, he's actually the first mutant if my memory is correct. I hate what they did to him
Gratitude.. I'm at the point I'll see it when I see it when I can watch it with objective eyes.. which is fair bc this movie was not marketed to me anyway, somewhat how politicians don't campaign my demographic.. I know we just suppose to clamp on suit like a clip on tie but appreciate the performers & respect the director.. they are put in to a position they gotta work what they got, so I'll see it when I ain't hot about done of the choices made concerning this film.. honestly, the release just make me want to see the first one again to appreciate the message & masterpiece of that film one more time.. I notice, when the conglomerate doesn't expect it do numbers the director & performers have more room for a free creativity, once the know what they got, co-opt it to market what is important to 'them' to make it important to us.. style is one thing, substance it's another.. the priority determines the creativity, performance gotta work wit what they got.. movies are suppose to be an escape from realism not a campaign to construct a new realism for viewers to adopt.. a good movie allows you to ponder within not tell you how to think.. the press alone already dropped the ball on that one.. I'll see how it shake in due time
At least you admit that. Most would just write something off that doesn't appeal to them as garbage and broadcast negativity because they want to control the geekspace. Those fans are giving this space a bad name.
In the comics, Namor is a mutant bro.
its what disney did with 7,8,9 star wars. copy paste. 7 was 4, 8 was 5, 9 was 6.
It actually ties in with African spirituality and is literally written (in Wakandan) in the thrown room, “as above so below”. Being that the two civilizations have fought in the comics, I think basing Atlantis after Wakanda and giving them a historical cultural backdrop was the best move to make. An actual Atlantis, with soace age technology out of nowhere like in Aquaman, would have been less interesting if not just outright silly or stupid. Namor would not have been as interesting, and everyone would have complained that Killmonger was a much better villain, because Namor would not have been so relatable or acted as a foil to the main character. Being of both Mayan and Kenyan decent, and having studied both cultures in college, I can tell they indeed do a lot of research into the Mayan culture and aesthetics and beliefs. It wasn’t not portrayed the best way and did feel rushed but the details were all there if you know what you’re looking at, brief flashes show an incredible amount of detail went into Talocan and the clothing of the people. It was not stated explicitly, so a lot of the motivations are likely to go over most peoples heads, as it did in the first Black Panther, where most white audiences just saw another super hero and didn’t realize all the coded symbolism that spoke to the generational trauma and the diaspora. Kukulkan having a Spanish name that he resents, is especially fitting as Spanish is a second language in a lot of indigenous pockets of Latin America. His Spanish name meaning “without love”, being appropriate for the character of Namor, his comic name meaning “avenging son, here meaning basically the same thing but with some sazon. Spanish is the language spoken by his oppressors, and in Spanish Sun Amor has connotations of evil and devilish mess, which is exactly what Namor is in the comics. He sees the whole surface world as Spaniards, with Wakanda being the only exception, which I think is a brilliant move to bring Namor and Atlantis into the MCU in such a grounded and based film like Black Panther that carrys the themes of colonialism and preserving one’s culture in the modern age.
What “AFRICAN” spirituality are u referring to??
@@Blackout7369 hermeticism, gnostic beliefs. “As above, so below” one of the first laws of Hermes Trismegistes.
@@GunslingerMediaCo what “Country” I meant
@@Blackout7369 that isn’t what you meant, that isn’t what I meant, your trying to pretend as if you did now because I actually know what I’m talking about, and you still feel the need to be right by any means. Africa isn’t a country btw, African spirituality isn’t tied to any country either.
@@GunslingerMediaCo what??? Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana???
Well why don't they kill off Shuri too since "It happened in the comics"........?
A woman becomes Black Panther in the original comics.
Disagree on this. I enjoyed it. Why we gotta tear down our own. Why 🤦🏾♂️
Because it's not actually our story. Just because they put black faces on a story doesn't make it by us or for us or even about us. The masculinized black woman in the media is as old as Sapphire of Amos 'n' Andy.
Thanks for dissecting it for us LJ good to know it was halfway decent but definitely glad it was respectable in honoring our brother CB🙏🏾
Blade.. the only superhero to work with a white man, a woman and kills vampires of all colors 🤣
Really hard for an actor to sell a story when handed a bad script. That's some heavy lifting, I tell ya'!
Jamie is a mutant in the comics and the first time in the MCU they used it was with Kamala Khan, but no one watched that show
What’s sad is reading these comments, so much sympathy for the writers, director and marvel (fiege) smh this movie blows
That Mayan addition was stupid, especially since "Hispanics" and the like, had nothing to do with them. Damn mcu...
Haven't seen it yet but do they Fup any wppl ?
No. Agent Ross gets fucked over by his own agency, though.
Mutant has been retcon so many times but namor was revealed later on in the comics to be a mutant. He is half human half fish/. Namor in the book is half white half asian
All they have to do is using that multiverse plot and recasting Michael B. Jordan but this time him as T'Challa. And the rest is connection to unchanged version of the Sub-Mariner and Doctor Doom for comics fan service. All woman all good, men are bad...same ol' Marvel scenario.
I was hoping for a redemption arc for Killmonger as he goes from villain to hero in the wake of T'Challa's (not death) disappearance/abduction. Then a story of Killmonger as king for the last movie and then rebooting the franchise with the return of the new TChalla.
how was the box office?
The Alpha Male, Proud, Strong, Powerful, Black KING of Wakanda CLEARLY should NOT have been killed off. There was NO VALID REASON FOR IT AT ALL!! Black folks,...including me,... LOVED Chadwick Boseman. He was a phenomenal Actor and he will be sorely missed! BUT,....the movie superhero,....the REAL Black Panther,....CLEARLY should have been re-cast with any one of a multitude of VERY CAPABABLE Black Male actors,...PLAIN AND SIMPLE!! The agenda of White Hollyweird is crystal clear when it comes to Black Men. Black Masculinity on full display, showcasing a Black Male Super Hero, is UNACCEPTABLE!! A PROUD, POWERFUL, and WISE Black Male King of Wakanda?? Oh,...Hell Nooooo!! Hollyweird's RACIST, HETEROPHOBIC Alphabet Mafia ain't havin' none of that!! As a Proud, Masculine, Heterosexual Black Man, I can tell you that I will NEVER GIVE MY FINANCIAL SUPPORT to this RACIST, HETEROPHOBIC GARBAGE!! And for the record,...I LOVE my Black Queens,....BUT this is CLEARLY,....ALL WRONG,..... and ALL REAL Black Men and BLACK WOMEN who see the trailers and promotional material for this movie WILL IMMEDIATELY know that. Of course the Coconuts/Negropeans among you will not get it,.... (and sadly,...GOD Help us,...there are A LOT OF YOU),....and we,....REAL Black people,....already know that. As the saying goes "Its a Black Thing, and just wouldn't understand." I will be very interested in seeing the return receipts/revenue,... generated from upcoming movies that the MCU (now the M-SHE-U),..presents in the coming years. Real Black people will be silently watching and observing. It should be VERY INTERESTING to say the least.
Great video bro.
agreed the story was TERRIBLE, there were amazingly funny and charming moments...Angela Bassett straight up was an absolute STAR the best of all. Shuri, for me just wasn't believable, didn't feel it, I like her in general but not as the main character she shined better in her previous roles. The fight scenes were unimpressive too
Made M’Baku a clown.
That's the way you saw it. M'Baku was fun but wise.
Have not seen the film yet..but when they released the 1 trailers some months ago with Namor I knew what they (Marvel) were doing a twofer ...Get that money both Black & Latino..I wonder how this film with the inclusion of Namor will help the Black Latin divide esp after the LA city council debacle with The Latino city council members. Great insights & review ...!!
They actually might help unite them as this is a nuanced piece that showcase the royals negotiations. Maybe LA could learn from this
They don’t even explain him having wings on his ankles past him being the “first mutant”! They could have said he was related to Hermes somehow but I’ve never heard that.
@Laymans Journal
Great video!
Now could you imagine if they had Paul Walker's character killed off in a car crash like what happened in real life, as they like using the narrative of "real life reflecting fiction"?
This was NOT a subtle feminist movie...
The women were 80% of screen time, every man is either an idiot or evil.
Agent Ross is arrested by the new head of the CIA, who just happens to be his ex wife...
Namor takes the knee after Shuri defeats him and cut his wings....
Mbaku is a joke for much of the movie and is ordered around by Shuri even when he's right....
All the Wakandan men fight BEHIND the women...
The women are front and centre of All battles...
Namor is cucked by one of his female soldiers at the end of the movie...
T'challas son is now raised by a single mother and that's CELEBRATED....
Fathers....DO NOT take your son to see this debacle of a movie...
I will not waste my money & see in January when it hits Disney plus.
@@sammiesmith6690 This guy is just bitter. This movie is subtle, the performances are subdued, the review admits it wasn't Feminist propaganda. Why would he lie?
What is crazy is that Atlantis has been found due to an ancient Roman map, and it is in the eastern Sahara, the eye of the Sahara which puts it in Wakanda. Lazy writing indeed, and Marvel Studios if true about the pressure for Latino diversity then MS should have declined, and given them their own project to evolve, and not WF.
2023: Pantera Negra, Yucatan Forever
Specifically namor/Tenoch Huerta. For one if they had gone along with the characters original origin story then everybody who’s not a comic book nerd witch is most people would just call him clone of aquaman and the MCU lazy and out of ideas. Even though the character debuted three years before aqua man. And it might be apart of some greater agenda of MCU/Disney I’m still not going to be mad at another minority group for trying to get a foot hold in the greater industry instead of being doomed to type casting.
Tell me why comments on social media wouldn't continue to disrespect, raining insults towards the elderly occupying public office holders in this country, when this so called leaders continue to focus on doing arguably the right things at the wrongest of time especially now when there are vital pressing issues to tackle like aiding the flood victims, asuu, deficit 2023 budget etc, instead they are prepared to spend billions on redesigning the naira
Thank God there is atleast one thing one can be proud of as a Nigerian, i.e. the entertainment industry, orderthan that the is nothing to be patriotic about.
imo it wasnt tasteful at all
Said this when I first seen the whole Hispanic on Sub Mariner
Its no wonder James Cameron is pissed at superhero movies. Coogler's Namor, especially his 'blue peeps' - are a complete rip-off of the Na'vi of Avatar.
Glad to see you came around. This movie is the best since Endgame. I hate that you relegate the movie to spread "the message" it isn't real. Its just representing more people. The Critical Drinker is a terrible person and terrible reviewer.
Interesting, thank you.
Predictable review. Agree to disagree. Minus the shoutouts to Tenoch Letitia & Mrs Bassett. This was a fantastic film & harping on the whining about the "why men not represented fairly"
Such a grand movie but with GLARING script issues. The MCU wants and claims to have cohesiveness in their movies, yet ZERO mention of gods battling and being destroyed on earth, (Eternals), or Thanos killing so many people, and also half the planet's people disappeared. WTF?!
NWH had 7 plotholes and unfinished CGI. This literally worked with the passing of an actor but it did it tastefully as possible.
I love woman but its not fit as black panther, if they killmonger is black panther its awesome
The movie is a masterpiece
Let that stick
They didn't even have any grievances in the beginning...just mutual interests. It was essentially what Roger Ebert called a "dummy plot" that only exists because the primary characters are dummies who don't talk to each other. The same resolution could have been reached by sitting down and talking right in the beginning. This plot was as dumb as the idea that the most advanced nation in the world would select its king in a trial by physical combat.
Why would Namor think that by killing the scientist who created the vibranium sniffer, the US could not build another one? Did he think the scientist didn't leave any notes? That the US government built a machine without having the plans? Dummy rationale for a dummy plot.
What does it say about Ramaoda and Namor as leaders that they were both are so quick to sacrifice their people in war rather than talk for a few hours about how neither actually has a problem with each other, but both have the exact same mutual problem with the rest of the world? "Let's not worry about how dumb the scenario is, let's get on to the action and explosions and killing!"
That is how the colonizers won.
Exactly, however, Colonizers won because black men willfully sold their own to them like cattle.
My sister thought Riri Williams wasn't needed and saw through the agenda and didn't appreciate it.
No. Riri was black American rep just as Kilmonger was. Wakanda is African.
How is a black character existing an agenda 😭
@@lunagato_ Shuri looking more manish. And black people can't continue to exist if one sex is attracted to the same sex.
They ruined all the mytic aspect of wakanda. Great job, Ryan.
The movie is good, it followed the source material. Which is difficult to pull off, comics can be difficult to pull off in movies. They did a good job.
Yea, it seems that people are judging it based on how well it can mimic the movies and not the writing, quality, visual, ECT.
What comic story did it adapt?
His strength and weaknesses are comic book accurate. And the fight at the end made sense with shuri using her agility, technology ,new powers and combat skills(we’ve seen her fight on two separate occasions/ Black panther 1and end game)to out maneuver someone already in a weakened state and isn’t even used to being on land! And she still barley cam through with the win! Because he is as strong as the hulk witch M’boku found out the hard way who I might add is also basically a super soldier(check out the comics, remember how he lifted a grown ass man off the ground with one hand in B.P.1?) because namor was in peak condition at the time.
They did not have the rights to Namor. So they just made a hispanic version with a completely different story. So, maybe it was for PC reasons, but mostly it was because of copy right issues.
not what Ryan Coogler said
How did they not have the rights to Namor? They used practically everything about Namor from the comics, only changing a detail of his origin story from the comics. And the concept of "Atlantis" is not copyrighted.
@@rdkirk3834 The rights issue is the same one as the Hulk, which prevents them from making a Namor solo movie. For now, he's got to appear in someone else's film or an ensemble.
Namor is the first mutant
I've learned not to blame the actors for these subpar movies nowadays. It's these screenwriters who let's face it most are just there as diversity hires in or to perpetuate: THE MESSAGE
And the story beats of shuri becoming black panther, namor calling himself a mutant and the same sex couple is all comic book accurate.
Ryan coogler has done more with the character of namor than I’ve seen marvel comics do in years let alone anything on tv.
The culture of the Atlanteans/Talocanil in the comics is vague at best with there barley being any depth with their connection to Greek mythology
Awesome video
Thank you!
$250M budget means it will lose money.
No, it won't. They made $350 this weekend alone, better than Black Adam. Also some in Africa are still writing their final exams so we'll see next week how this movie fares in the foreign market
My opinion is totally different, I actually saw it twice as it was better the second time.
I prefer the one at the theaters
Sorry bro, the story Ryan told is great. Stop nic picking a good story to confuse yourself. The MSheU era could have been fun if the females are sexy and not wanabe boys.
I cut it off when Bro said he was the best villain in the franchise💀 you know you get the thumbs down😂
Hell naw... 2:43 you got to be kidding me.. even though I'm not even interested in seeing this movie The Audacity of them copying and pasting this same story component, and the studios and powers that be thought it was not going to be noticed is unforgivable.
I have to disagree with you on having the MAYAN culture represented in this movie. Using a culture that was wiped from the earth for their land and resources in a movie where America is literally willing to destabilize a country for their resources is a perfect parallel but you're right there should be a specifically Hispanic hero but there's one on the horizon. Miles morales is black and Hispanic and he's allegedly coming soon. With the mentality explained in the point you made, is he gonna be a hero for black ppl or Hispanic ppl? I did not notice the exact parallel their origin stories had and you're definitely right, they could've changed it up a bit. The actors did a great job and i think it's good because of their performances, not the story.
Hispanics wouldn't accept him as their primary hero. Blue Beetle is the Hispanic representation on DC side.
A Beautifully Inappropriate Unnecessarily Triggering Traumatic Deliberate Deconstruction of Its Epic Predecessor.
There is a source material?! Ryan Coogler just nitpicks what he wanted.
Namor a mutant namors not the first mutant in the mcu its Janet van dyne being trapped in the microverse Charles Xavier variant kamala khan retconned as a mutant with a kree band instead of an inhuman terigin mist
Did you watch the movie? he was born in the 1500s which technically makes him the first mutant.
Another movie ruined because they didn't follow the actual comic books story! P.S. I did like Killmonger. Peace. BLACK SUPER POWER!
When movies as flawed as Wakanda Forever is the BEST phase 4 films, you know the Marvel machine is broke as hell.
NWH had 7 plotholes and unfinished CGI yet people claim its the best thing since slice bread.
Don't forget about Kang. He will b the best villain
Full disclosure, I haven't seen it. But of all of the reviews that I've watched. Yours is the first that didn't flat out loathe it. From what I've seen they all were calling it a misandrist mess. The men were nowhere to be seen. M'Baku was basically an idiot. And Namor is emasculated at the end by a Mary Sue Shuri as the new BP.
I'm still not going to see it, but I am now totally confused about its story quality.
I've seen it. And I do agree with Laymans Journal as well. M'Baku I felt was not an idiot. Every time he was on, he made the most sense of all the council members. He literally put them in their places. His crime is that he wasn't in the film more probably due to the over exposure of women. It's a good Wakandan film but it sucks as a BP film because it almost had nothing to do with BP. Riri Williams I will agree was just wasted space. Nothing inspiring about her character. People didn't like her comic book counterpart, not much gonna change your mind here about her. Namor could had been another character. Eric July would be caught saying "legitimacy in white characters" again about Hispanic Namor. Yeah, Namor did feel emasculated at the end. The way he just gives that speech to Namora I believe he was talking to was like WTH?!? He sounded so wussified all of a sudden.
The emasculation narrative significantly overblown. He is estimated to be MUCH stronger than her so they made a plan to weaken him that was fairly simple and effective. He then still threw her around a lot and dealt a wound that would have killed a normal person. The “emasculation” people are fussing about was just her trying to eliminate his advantage of flight. Just like Spider-Man did when he webbed up Falcon’s engines and just like Captain America did when he smashed Iron Man’s foot thrusters in Civil War

I've heard it was uneven. Great to watch bad to follow.
But I disagree about some of the changes made being bad move.
I dissagree with the point about the first movie being well researched. I personally found the first movie to be quite silly. They got the geography wrong, they frankenstined cultural CLOTHING from different parts of the continent together. I won't even mention those offensively awful accents.
These people know nothing about how Africans think or our beliefs. The movie is simply just fiction.
Must ask my perpetual question:
WHY did you WANT TO like it???
Marmite exists
I've tried it and don't like it
But I've NEVER "wanted to like it".
I "thought I would like" several things - like Vanila Coca-Cola, cos I like Coke Fliats with vanilla ice cream
But I never "wanted to like it" - there are no "cool points" I'm aware I'll get for liking it
Do you "want to like" heavy metal?
Because he's not a seething incel who hates everything with women in it.
They played right into the M-She-U haters with this movie
The premise: Let's show how black men are irrelevant and let's use Chadwick Boseman's death to do it. In the first film you could tell that men and women were very close and this was one of the major strengths of Wakanda. No more. Let's get rid of that narrative for no reason and downplay the unity that made Wakanda great.
Also what was the point of killing the Queen of Wakanda? It was like; how dare this woman stand up to the UN. We need to take these Wakandans down a peg, by showing that with all that tough talk even the queen of Wakanda and all of Wakanda's military advancements could not protect this most cherished woman in the end. While we are at it, let's lessen the technological and the strategic military might of Wakanda. If they wanted to get rid of the queen she should have become a political envoy to other countries, just in case Bassett would like to come back to the role later.
And finally Riri Williams. It is like they went above and beyond to make her a Mary Sue. Shuri in this regard was not much better. One needs to train to become proficient as a black panther. Hollywood seems at many stages to not be able to write female characters and do not put much effort into it. In this movie Riri received the Obi Wan Reva treatment. By comparison, in HOTD and Andor the writers are rather adept at writing female characters, so the audience knows it is not impossible.
All in all this movie was a mess.
No spoilers
@Dr. Octogon And you wonder why they removed you. No need to empower the Manospere when they have a hard enough time with those Snyderfans. Black men are not like white men, stop biting the hand that feeds you, it won't work out.
I’m sorry but bro your whole is a mess. Did you forget this takes place a year after T’Challa’s funeral? Wakanda was already formed to be strong, I don’t know why you want them to reemphasize that when it was clear in the movie. Why did the Queen die? Because namor drowned her and nakia saved shuri and riri. Why are you asking rhetorical questions to downplay the movie? Your whole argument is trying to tie in politics, which is seen nowhere in the movie.

It's should be Black Panther: No Man's Land. Don't you find it weird and uppalling that the King's is gonna be raised around a grow of women. Instead of M'Baku. Don't you notice it, unlike in the first film where African Culture Is the Atmosphere is mostly Governed by MEN. and The Character of Namor shows this by Completely Glossing over his FATHER. and only spoke about his Mother. Notice he only respected A "STRONG" women's authority. Notice that M'Baku only became king after Shuri GAVE IT TO HIM!!!
BLACK CULTURE SHOULDNT BE PROMOTING THE NEGATIVE ASPECTS OF ANY CULTURE.
It looked like feminist propaganda to me. 👎🏾 not watching the movie

I like it a lot more than I hoped. Even if I would’ve had a different story (with T’Challa recast instead of dead), I think they executed this one much better overall than much of phase 4. I agree with the preference for this new Namor and his people to have a solo movie instead of lumping them in with the Wakandans and most copying their origin, but what they did show left me wanting more and I don’t know how else they would’ve restored the heart-shaped herb. Burning it made sense for Killmonger but was bad for the series. I look forward to more in depth analysis of the writing as time passes. To use the Spill/Double Toasted rating scale, I call it a Matinee. I think the MCU has jaded some people that they’re reading more into some events than is there because of past releases being more prominently “woke” and antagonistic. Like when someone jumps to conclusions at an innocuous use of the phrase “you people”.
You are aware Ryan Cooglar wrote this movie. A black man who had the incredibly hard job of rewriting an entire script after Bosemans death. He did a great job and also did a great job depicting the Mayans. As far as your take on Mutants, seems you need to go back to the comics so you know the lore of Mutants. As far as Shuri, her brother just died…..but you want her to be funny and uplifting???? Strange request to say the least.
I'm glad you liked it. I absolutely hated it. You aren't wrong. I'm not wrong. We just disagree. That's okay.
@@user-vg8ox3he1i it could have been better. Like redeeming Killmonger and making him the black panther is the only possible way they could of completed with the first. BP film. Unfortunately they didnt choose tht rout.
Im going to say something very unpopular. While I loved the first Black Panther, I had tons of issues with the movie. A secret black nation that is the most advanced on earth, yet they still have dirt roads, rhinos in battle, and ritual combat to decide who is the king? GTFOH! Then it makes no sense because if they are the most powerful country in the world then who are they afraid of? And all of their advancements come from a magical BS mineral. Not the skills or intelligence they posses. Some BS mineral. Smh. This is disrespectful. F Marvel at this point. 🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️
Better than Thanos? Come on man. Thats crazy. There has never been a better villain than Thanos. I mean maybe The Joker or Darth Vader. But there is no way this water dude is better than the Mad Titan. I didn't like him as much in the comics, but in the MCU, he is phenomenal! And technically, he is more of an anti-hero than a bas guy. Ijs.
This was not a good movie. It was boring and I passed out bro. Seriously though it seems like if you criticize this movie the Marvel stans start flipping out. They don't want hear no one else's opinion. Yes, this movie was "woke" as hell. If they really wanted to honor Chadwick's death they could have done it way better but they chose not too. Instead they purposely went woke and tried to use Chadwick's death to sell the movie. Angela Bassett did great as usual and Namor did pretty good probably second best Mcu villain for me. I've seen much worse and I agree 5/10. Basically a mediocre movie, I recommend people just wait for it to stream.
That means this generation is in trouble. Social media has produced low attention spam in you
This is fiction. Wakanda doesn't exist. This is all Marvel comics come to life. TiChalla dies in the comics and Shuri becomes the Black Panther. It's okay that the submariner is mesoamerican. All the Marvel movies are designed to enhance the MCU. It's just the movie, have fun with it.
Wow, Namor was better Kilmonger and Thanos? Wow really. High praise indeed. Now I am curious.
The movie was still bad, but he was a good villain
@@laymansjournal The movie is character focused like Terminator 2... or Spiderman 2.
If Wakanda is so superior in technology, then why can't they clone or save T'Challa? Why do they still use primitive weapons?
Prince T'Challa better be the new Black Panther in 3rd film.
They literally show you why in the first scenes of the film. T'Chala did hide his diagnosis and Shuri didn't have time to synthesize a cure. Kudos on them for making her flawed by not making it in time. Then you'd hear incel nerds complain about her being a Mary Sue. She feels guilt for this for the rest of the movie hence why she doesn't burn her clothes until the end. To finally let go.
@@suezcontours6653 That still doesn't explain away the cloning they could have done, since their technology is supposed to be far advanced.
Wakanda ForerverYONE
Yes. That's how you make money
Well if you got time can you find the stan lee video where he explains that marvel comics are and was set to be more about religions and politics and real life earth?? Then you'll see why they were myan. Can we say that this is just an open world movie? Frfr this movie is boring wasnt planning on seeing it even before chadwick passed. Wasnt a panther fan and we only got it cause the Asians wanted their 2 heroes and lure to have screen time. Killmonger was the hero
We are waiting for Spider womaniess
Why is Riri in this movie other than the fact that she's black?
Synergy/cross promotion
Cross promotion. Armor Wars, Ironheart Disney shows.
Promotion. Haven't you noticed when it came to multiverse of madness? America Chavez. Or even the cartoon that keeps pushing squirrel girl, America, Riri, miss marvel. It's on Disney plus. Girl power cartoon or something, it's kind of boring to me. Maybe u should check it out though to understand.
Disney is clearly trying to push a new generation type of thing.
WHERE'S THE MEXICAN DIRECTOR FOR THE FISH PEOPLE SCENES?!?!
I mean, if BP needs a black director...
Not how it works
Letitia getting an oscar along with Bassett? The acting between the two was over the top.🤣😂
Not really, Letitia was subtle until the end and Angela was being Angeka, why the hate for this legend? It's time to get her due.
Stfu & show respect. Angela fir sute deserves it.
Marvel móvies are going down in to the ocean.
