As long as you have the BM3 multimap pack which has flex fuel enabled it’s plug and play
So I’m so sorry I’m confused to be able to run full e85 or a mixture of 93 & e85 at the same time you need the flex fuel kit please elaborate boss 🙏
No it’s not necessary, just makes it easier so you’re not sitting at the pump like a chemist lol. You can calculate a mix manually and then flash to the appropriate tune. You don’t need the kit to do that
Without the kit, you don’t have a way to know how accurate the mix is unless you have the kit or another type of ethanol mix reader. That’s why it’s important to measure the ethanol content of 93 and E85 and then do some calculations to make sure you’ll get an accurate mix
I live that color, so I'm debating on going to an E blend but I wanted to get one of those TU pumps to do so, if I went that route I can still do the E blends right?
Thanks. Yeah even stock you can do an E30 blend. But yeah TU pump would be better for going E50

Yeah definitely! E30 would be your safest bet there. Wouldn’t push anything higher than that

2:10 What does port or meth injection have to do with ignition timing and running smoothly on full E85?
The B58 is a high compression engine so it relies heavily on timing to make good power, and not just high boost from the turbo. Increasing Ethanol mix increases timing to allow for more boost. Essentially I can run full E85 because I have a stage 2 HPFP, but even then I would be close to maxing out the stock turbo. E30-E50 allows for more torque in the lower rev range and is the best combination for fuel efficiency, boost, and good timing. Port or meth injection comes into play when running full E85, because the higher the E mix the more flow and demand it's putting on the fueling system. So the port or meth injection helps to balance that out to take off some demand on the system. Hope this helps!
@@skrrtproductions Right -- I understand supplementing fueling for the air:fuel mixture. But port supplementing more E85 doesn't seem like it should affect timing at all.
@@thegrimmer yeah I don’t have an exact answer on that either, but that’s what’s on F80 Paul’s website under B58 tuning. He recommends port or meth injection to basically get the most out of going full E85
Basically in other words you can run full e85 instead of mixing every time, but these cars perform better from e30-e60. Unless you’re running PI the car will do better on full e85 than when you’re without pi on full e85. You’ll get more gains off a mix than full e on DI. But yes you can still run full e85 on the car here and there

Nope, just need the multi map and upgraded HPFP. If you don’t have an upgraded HPFP then only E30 is recommended

Yup. I wouldn’t go beyond E50-E55. Just not optimal for timing unless you have meth and custom tuner
@@skrrtproductions I don’t have meth (thought it wouldn’t help when e, only when low Oct fuel), don’t have custom tune either (panning on having when I buy upgraded turbo). That being said, there wouldn’t be a problem if running e50 boned with my flex fuel kit? Thanks man

Question on the mixture side... Im running the same flexfuel top hat with the OEM fuel pump and MultiMap stage2 -
1. Do you think e50 isnt safe without a better pump and only e30 can be run without an upgrade?
2. Do think the stage 2 e30 [agg] map has more power over MultiMap or you think not really and MultiMap has some other perks too (antilag, auto mix calculation, more slots etc)?
3. On MultiMap do you have any thoughts on the custom boost target you can set per map slot? Ive been running map3 as its for 93oct but i changed the boost target to 23psi. Curious what your thoughts are on that setting and its safety?

Hey bro! Yes on OEM fuel pump I wouldn’t run higher than E30. No it really shouldn’t have more power just the other perks, just way too aggressive burbles IMO lol. Personally I wouldn’t mess with the boost target. If you’re looking to get the most power in the safest way, get a custom tune.

Before and after horsepower+torque, fuel economy with reproducible tests, engine health but you could find more test if you were really implicated in this conversion
@@ZedEau this is just a tune/driving review video I’m not a mechanical engineer lol. However you can watch one of my previous videos I made with the car on the dyno before going E50. I will definitely be going back to the dyno soon. As far as fuel economy, not much has changed. I’m averaging 19-20mpg with mixed highway/(mostly) city driving
