Great advice! Dealer cord listed @ 180$. eBay seller (included short heat shield & shipping), 10$. Plug removal super easy with pliers for the 'extra' reach. Skip the crawling, turn the wheels hard left, then jacked the front end using OEM jack (best to learn how to use it before you HAVE to along the dark roadside). I added jack stands for my safety and sanity to reach through the passenger wheel well. The pliers were tricky but worked to insert the cord. WELL worth the time & effort.
What kind of fuel additive can you add to prevent diesel gelling? Btw thanks for the heads up about the cheaper cord. Bought the cord from the dealer then found this video on how to install , right away went back and returned the cord. So thanks man
Depending in where you live, you should not need an additive. Gas stations in cold climates used a blended diesel fuel that already has anti-gel additives.
Mine doesn't have the block heater element, it was made after August 2021. If I buy the element would it screw in to that brass piece before where the plug is?
I’ve 2017 ram 1500 eco diesel I’ve never get more than 25 mpg on highway And city I’m getting 17-20 mpg Is there any changes or any maintenance I need to make to get most mpg ? Thank you
I got similar in my '14. Maybe 22 mpg highway though with 2" front leveling lift. Just put new tires on and switched from X/T to R/T. That killed mileage to 17 mpg in town, 20mpg highway. Same brand, same size (Venom Power Terra Hunter 275/65R20), big difference. That'll be big expense over the 45k mile tire lifespan. Honestly considering tossing them and buying new set of X/Ts again. Had no idea it'd hurt like this, dang.
Simple yet effective and to the point. Thanks for not dragging this video out with a bunch of wasted time
