That’s why they never gave it to him whilst they were still polishing the game. They didn’t want Matt in their discord every 5 minutes screaming that he’d broken something that every single normal player wouldn’t even think to do 🤣🤣
Paradox: "We should sponsor an episode of CSL2 with RCE!" Matt, 20 seconds in: "PWHOAR look at that road layout does anyone else see that?" Paradox: "... Ah."
9:21 I don't know why I thought he was just drawing random shapes in the beginning. I've been watching this channel long enough to know better so this shouldn't be a surprise anymore but yet it still sometimes catches me by off guard. I guess that's the real reason that the strongest shape will forever rein supreme!
Nah, you start with 9 tiles now unlocked, as they're generally a lot smaller, but cheaper. So to Matt, he was given 1 tile that is subdivided into 9 tiles based on the tiles around it.
@@jonathancarney4994 It's not released until the 24th. Its just preorder rn. Though yeah, nothings optimized on release anymore. Its an unrealistic expectation of a competitive market and impatient gamers. lol
In Germany we have a very stupid dad joke in the official naming of these bridges to nowhere: They're called a "Soda-Brücken"/"soda bridges". But Soda is not only meaning sparkling water, but you can write it "so da": "Just there". A very stupid dad joke on a nationwide level.
Matt - curious about this game, particularly if they've enhanced water physics at all. Would like to build things like streams, irrigation ditches, or small drainage channels, something that didn't work really well at that much smaller scale with Cities: Skylines.
I saw you can buy tiles even if there not connected to another one what if you tried doing a city that was checkered style only buying tiles diagonally and none next to eachother?
The TTP on this video was longer than I was expecting...I mean we knew what all those roads were going to be, but almost 10 minutes before the full Monty was impressively restrained for Matt.
The rapid water near the prison could be a good spot for a hydroelectric power plant. Just stick a dam in there. The awkward small useless pieces of land between the private houses could have giant wind propellers. And you could set up subway trains and put the largest roads into tunnels too. That would save enough room to add some large malls and what not.
My friend and I rate bridges IRL because it started as a joke and got out of hand in the best way possible. At least according to us. That bridge review made me so damn happy
Can't wait to pick this up at some point. Hopefully the devs actually manage to sort out the admitted performance issues they plan to release with by then.
SO excited to see new cities and myth busting! RCE, is it possible to turn that motion blur off? Looks like it might be bringing down your framerate, and makes me feel queasy. lol
@@CanonOverseer its not gpu heavy game.... it can run on like gtx 570... its super cpu heavy, and will start lagging even with the best consumer cpu's quite fast
Soon as RCE didn’t make a knob with the roads straight away especially after all the set up about curved roads I realised the Devs obviously made a deal, we will sponsor you but no knobs on the first play through!! EDIT-- he just zoomed out…. Devs obviously were slipping when negotiating the sponsorship
Considering the high pollution, bad healthcare and education, and the fact that it's a small gray city with a river flanked by tall mountains, this place reminds me a LOT of Santiago de Chile.
Maybe after this we can get another poo-cano Or maybe an even bigger map that Matt would have to constantly keep on top of problems. It could be a test for how good his management skills are
I think there mmmmiiight be something off about the economics in this game :D We have 6000 residents, but a highschool, college and uni and a giant prison, but still making a positive income 🤣
The fact that you got this game early means you are an architect, architects designs things long before engineers get their hands on the product. from this point on i shall refer to Matt as the RealCivilArchitect(RCA), i may need to update some scores on Poly Bridge 3 as a result...
YES, YES, YESSS!!! I LIKED WATCHING THE GAME FROM RUclipsRS I KNOW, BUT NONE OF THEM ACTUALLY KNOW HOW TO MAKE A LONG-TERM FUNCTIONAL CITY AND IT WAS SO SKSKDJDJSKSKSK So, thank you. Your knowledge is invaluably appreciated.
7:59 Yes, there will be steam. Another half-realism of the game, you don't burn coal and collect the electrical output from it with grid plates, you burn coal to turn water into steam to drive turbines connected to generators. Coal plants should require lots of water. CS2 looks nice though, I will check it out... after I've finished InfraSpace :)
15:05 as a non-uk-ian when i visited the uk and drove on your highways it's insane to me how you have traffic lights and roundabouts in the middle of highways, that's literally the most insane thing ever.
With his response the other day, I wonder if he's waiting for it to hit 200 or something to make it into a bit when he finally does make a video for it.
I love the the beginning of what I think will be a great game. Even if it will be perhaps costly with dlc. But my one wish that I used to think a CS sequel would bring would be that individual plots would connect despite curved roads. Fences could line up at whatever angle is needed. Their could be certain things like gardens/pools that always line up with the back of the house. Trees/garden sheds etc could connect to a back or side fence line. Then the grass yard texture could fill to fit the rest of the property within its fence line no matter the size or shape. More larger buildings and commercial/industrial could be fine with just adding more concrete ground textures in the blank spaces. There might be more games but I remember playing the Manor Lords demo and seeing that they did something like this for the little house plots and I was thinking the next Cities game would do this. But I’m back to filling in as many trees as I can in between houses to disguise the empty spots.
8:51 "Let's hope the trains don't open their windows" Well, that's very ironic, because we have in my area a "garbage train." They literally transport garbage on the train. And they love to park it overnight in the residential neighborhood.
us tradesmen (master plumber and pipe fitter) talk just as much shit about engineers as architects, you should have to build what you draw, also great video !

Well, I don’t know how you do it across the pond, but over here in Murica, you can totally curve sewage lines. We do it all the time. in fact, it’s easier to curve those than water line unless it’s HTPE, which is less common.
9:40 there are places that allow you to reserve your spot and put in a headstone ahead of time. I've seen many that says "[Name] 19xx - (blank)". A bit grim if you ask me.

Make a city in the sky (if that's even possible)
💀
Remember, Right is right, the Roads start with a R for a Reason, Rce, you Really should build your Reputation Rather than your Rules… idk?
Using only water/poop power (like timberborn) to make a city. IE no advanced technology (pre 1950s)
Whenever Matt says he is going “off grid” for road design, you know it’s going to be the strongest shape
It is very European.
Guess it already, just waiting for when he shows it and yep, there it is 😂

Don't feel bad, for the original skylines series it took everyone 9 episodes to find out
I think it's time to compare the water physics of city skylines 2 vs city skylines 1
Fun fact: you can expand certain buildings such as the highschool for more capacity or add a sport field! Just click on the building and you’ll see it
