Razer Viper Ultimate Review VS Logitech G PRO WIRELESS
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 14 авг 2024
- The Razer Viper is one of the best mice ever made and now they've made it into an amazingly low latency wireless mouse called the Viper Ultimate. It seems to out perform Logitech mice in my latency testing, which is amazing considering Logitech wireless keeps up with wired.
And what's more surprising? It's said to have 70 hours of battery life while weighing only 74 grams. Welcome to the new age of wireless mice. Razer and Logitech are dominating right now but I expect we'll see more and more like these.
So this video is a review for the Viper Ultimate but also a comparison with the Logitech G Pro Wireless. Both absolutely outstanding and amazing mice, but which is right for you? Well, it might help to watch these reviews too:

I think it's mostly about the shape. Performance is solid on both, with the Razer Viper Ultimate edging the win with updated quality and features compared to the year old G Pro Wireless.

The line people are getting confused about at 6:43 I said "personally, I prefer their shape over the Logitech G Pro Wireless, along with the features". Some people thought I said "I prefer THE shape OF", but no, I said "THEIR shape" and "OVER".
Note: Doesn't look like lighting is saving to on board memory unfortunately, it's still in software only.

For me I think it's a wireless tech issue. I had a few wireless mice do the same on me. Most recently the Corsair Harpoon RGB the same thing. When it happens in Rainbow Six siege ranked... I just ended up going back to the Logitech G Pro wired version, but it's so damn small it cramps my hand.
That sometimes happens with my ul2, but had only happened few times
I've used the Razer Mamba Wireless and didn't have the issue... seems odd the newer tech would get this issue when they're aware of things like this happening. Razer can't replicate it so I'm a bit lost on this one. We'll see what others say once they get one.
is it after you dont move the mouse or say mid game/use
Rocket Jump Ninja I had the viper too but the software was buggy. I had a similar issue to rocket jump ninja except mine would disconnect for like half a second to a second. Threw off my aim during csgo. I just refunded it and went with the g pro wireless. Overall best decision.
Rumour has it that Zy's house is built entirely of mouse boxes.

@@Perceptence great choice mate.
@@Perceptence If Logitech made a G Pro (non wireless) with the shape of the G Pro Wireless for that price they'd sell like hotcakes. I've had the GPW for a year, and it's the best mouse I've ever tried, period.
I hate to be the one to tell you but, you can turn the right side buttons off in the synapse software... dunno if it’s common knowledge or not or if it was in a more recent update but I doubt it. Viper ultimate all da way, and I have both mice too 😁
Just disabel them in cynapse
The main selling point of the Viper for me is the anti-double click.I've gone through multiple G Pro Wireless mice because of that problem, so to be able to have a reliable clicking mechanism that I know won't degrade is a huge plus. Holidays can't come soon enough 😬
Soul Index thats some questionable logic considering its a kind of widely known fact that the g pro qa is shit and the problem is the 50m omrons which isnt a problem on any other mice. the vipers optical switches have to be the absolute worst part of the mouse even as someone who’s mained it since release since they feel like mushy garbage because of the fake clicker.
@@TheMissthebus wait are you saying that the g pro wireless ist shit?

The temporary disconnect is from having more than one mouse plugged in. I have this issue with two work mice and almost always another gaming mouse.
Nahhh i only have 1 connect and still have It..
I've had a Razer Naga for many years and it would in fact turn off randomly, reinstalled the os many times and never figured out what was the problem. Now I'm using a Logitech g305 and it's... Perfect!

@Lamp yep it did, logitech asked me for a proof video of me testing it on a website and then sent me a replacement, I've since given it to my sister and bought a g502 wireless.

Thanks for the review! I saw it and after some thinking (5 months 😂) I decided to give it a try.
I bought this mouse two weeks ago and I'm so happy with it.
It's such a great mouse and on the second I started using it I felt the different, two weeks later my aim is 5 times better.
I can say without hesitating that it's worth the price.
My only issue with it is the software, but this is such a minor problem compare to this great product overall.
I used to dislike Razer's products so the fact that I can say "good job Razer" without even thinking twice says something.
If you can afford it, I suggest you give it a try, I'm really doubt you won't be as pleased with it as I am.
I have both. G Pro first. It started having double-clicking issues thanks to shitty Omron switches. So I bought the Viper Ultimate at the same time I ordered Kailh red mouse switches to replace the ones in the G Pro. Once I replaced the switches... Honestly, now my Viper Ultimate is a nice decoration on my desk. I use the G Pro with the new switches, it is so good. I only use the viper when I am charging the G Pro.
was it difficult doing it? what did you pay for the switches?
can you also change the switches on the g pro wired?
SeLpHy they are like 3 dollars a switch and its not exceptionally hard
@@selphy_ you only need basic soldering skills and you can switch them out, not that hard to be honest.
I have large hands so the gpro was tiny for me and like you said, the inevitable double clicking issue. Ordered the viper today and hopefully it lives up to the hype.
I have used both mouse for a long time and here’s my perspective, Logitech does have a better grip on the mouse but the trade off is the horrible double click issue on the mouse and this can be a massive issue for FPS gamers as every time when you open scope it somehow close and reopens the scope again which is extremely irritating and can easily determine win or lose. Viper on the other hand has a decent grip but not as good as g pro but it does not have any issue with double clicking or anything malfunctions about the mouse except it does have a bit inaccurate dpi but its only a bit doesn’t really matter that much so in the end i use viper over g pro which is about half the price and double the performance
I have the g903 and im getting the same double click issue and RMB issue with unscoping, is your viper still good if you see this? Thinking i should get one since its half off.

Pretty sure he says I prefer the shape over the logitech g pro wireless at the earlier timestamp.
Those highlights at the end of the video were sooo satisfying :)
Hi Zy, how hard was it for you to make the adjustments from using the deathadder or other larger mice to smaller mice you use now?
My Razer Viper Ultimate also has a mouse wheel that sounds like that. I’m wondering how common that is and if it really is a big deal. Perhaps a defect like you said.
Got mine 2 days ago. The wheel is fine. The only problem is clicking the side buttons but u can just disable it with the software so its all good.
I actually had the G Pro Wireless, saw Dave2Ds video (yours is much more detailed though, great job!) and ordered one. I am not 100% happy with the mouse wheel yet (it rattles a bit when moving up) but otherwise I definetely like it. The dock is great, the feeling of the mouse with the rubber on the sides is better and I definetely like the switches. They just feel so satisfying and I don't have to worry about double clicks anymore.
The Razer of course isn't cheap, I got mine for 130€. I had a voucher for the Logitech store so I got my G Pro Wireless for 75€, hopefully because of that I won't loose any/not much money when selling it on Ebay.
I've been on a g pro wireless for 5 months from a deathadder elite and i like the lower weight and wireless freedom but i hate the ambidextrous design. The deathadder although heavier and corded fit my hand like a glove, if they could take that shape and make it lighter and wireless i'd buy it immediately.
This is the exact predicament I’m in right now. I have the Deathadder Elite and absolutely love the shape. Naturally I’m attracted to the Mamba wireless because it shares a very similar size but I want the latest mouse to reduce any risk of wireless latency that might be inherit older devices and those new ambidextrous designs looks so painful to hold :/
@@tbeeb3400 I went an got another DA:E since they were on sale for $25 so i could A B test it with the GPW and just as i remembered its much nicer to hold onto, but after playing a few OW matches with each mouse i went back to the GPW. The combination of having a better sensor, and being wireless and slightly lighter does make for a better mouse. As for how comfortable it is to use it really does depend on your hand size, i'd say i have medium size hands and its not uncomfortable. Smaller hands would be even better for it, while large hands i think would have issues and are better off with a bigger mouse.

My G Pro lasted almost a year before it started double clicking and not registering left clicks at all. Just ordered a razor viper ult.
Battery is great on the g pro and I would have kept it forever if it had only worked consistently.
Let me know how the razer is I really want a wireless mouse but I dont want the double click issues of the G pro so im hoping this Razer mouse doesnt double click after 6-12 months of use.
@@TheDubRoller Got it 4-10-2020. The only thing I can say I noticed that was the side buttons are almost flush. It gives a "dig for" feeling when pressing them. Not bad just a different thing to get used to..
They double click or no reg M1 thing seems to take a while to develop, It shouldn't though with the optical switches. It's just breaking a light beam.
If it is just the tracking that is lost for a bit, and not also the clicks -it might be related to the calibration / lift-off distance (try setting it to max and using other pads).

The multi-clicking issue on Logitech's mice have me really wishing I had the viper ultimate right now.
No way in hell I'm paying another $150. Already threw $450 down the drain over the last 2-3 years.
I just bought this mouse for a similar reason. I have three g903s all of them the right button drops out when ADS in game after about 6 months. Bought Japanese omrons soldered them in same thing after a few months. I'm done with that...
Logitech had warranty about that
@@framedthunder6436 Every company has a warranty.
My waste of $450 was the purchase of a G900, G903 and HERO Wireless. I've gone through 5 total RMA's, to the point my last RMA was a full refund of my original G900 purchase.
Since writing this comment, I've used that refund money to buy a Viper Ultimate. Not one multi-click issue the entire time I've owned it. Besides the buttons not being secure enough (creaky wobble), it's been flawless.
I will never recommend a single Logitech product again.
Been on the G403 for a couple of years now, thanks for the advice on it by the way, but for a few months now the rubber around spots where my thumb and ring finger grip have begun to scoff, or blister, or something. Well whatever it is, it can get really distracting. Mouse works perfectly fine otherwise, but would consider getting a new one with a different style of grip since this doesn't seem to last that much. Not really sure exactly what yet, will have to dig into your videos more, but I like the feel of the buttons Logitech has, yet don't like the shape of the GPro.
Anyway, that's it for my rant, now time to boot QC since your videos always make me want to do a few rounds, even as a filthy casual. Shit's fun yo.

Feel like g pro is for bigger hands. I exchanged my vipor 3 times because it had lots of manufactured error on clicks. Finally got one that clicked right on both sides without making mushy sound. The design is complex do each side if not bolted on right can wave side ways when you click it
Can you run these on a motherboard you can overclock bandwidth settings to see what one runs at the fastest transfer speeds.
Unfortunately Razer's quality control isn't good, I got a defective right click, still waiting for the physical store to reopen to get it replaced. It's unfortunately a common issue with this mouse.
I wish the side of the lmb and rmb was covered like on the gpro wireless. I like to rest my ring finger there and I hate mice where I can feel the buttons going up and down from the side.
I love resting my ring finger halfway on the side of my g502 and I truly need something like that shape but at the most only 80g.

@@Player-wr8yk Yeah man, I gave my wife my old DeathAdder Elite while I have the wireless Viper. Now when she has trouble with something on her PC and I walk over to help her, I notice the huge weight decrease, preferred click pressure, and side button feel the Viper offers. I was super critical at first, but I definitely say the Viper is far superior now.
I've had the GPro for almost 2 years now and it starting double clicking (click buttons work really weird and bad), so I asked for a replacement, I was offered a refund so now I'm thinking if the Viper would be a better option.
If you have a soldering iron, you can swap out the switches and get new ones.
I had double clicking on my G pro wireless and switched to Razer. It's honestly the best decision ever. thnx for making the point in your video. it's a very crucial factor to longevity of the mouse. I am still using the G915 keyboard though lol.
I saw you had the ROCCAT 120 aimo on our desk. Would love your thoughts on that keyboard.
Keyboard is a keyboard ... as long as it feels ok and it fits then it good ....
I have that keyboard. Got it after using a Blackwidow chroma v2 and a K95 RGB Platinum. I gotta say this keyboard is very distinct. It's not that bulky like all the other keyboards, and has a really clean look. The keycaps are like laptop keys and it feels like it helps with a lighter keypress, the switches are clear so the RGB shines through really nicely. It was easy setting up some effect through their software, and the best thing is that it will stay on the keyboard forever because of the built-in memory. The switches feel similar to cherry mx brown, but these once actuate faster. Really nice board to type and game on, nice keyfont too, nothing too fancy really but it works fantastically.

Besides the wireless signal being the problem, it could most likely be a fault in the battery-saving/sleep-mode feature of the mouse firmware that is not behaving correctly.

ive had both these mouses and the viper is by far better. I've owned 4 g pros and each one of them has had a double clicking problem or left click problem. DO NOT BUY THE LOGITECH PRO. only bad thing about the razer viper is the annoying side buttonss
Rubber will last long? What makes you say that? Last mouse I used, SteelSeries Rival 310 ended up disintegrating when the glue holding the rubber side pads came in contact with sweat and turned into sticky goo. I'd rather go for plastic, unless they don't use glue with the rubber.
Looks good. Will wait to see if Logitech responds with a updated G Pro. G305 working perfectly fine atm.
The G305 is still the best wireless mouse lmao. Wireless isn't really that important though, with the cables on mice like the Model O- and MM710 and a good bungee setup they feel wireless and are better overall mice.

Hi, hope this helps: on the G Pro Wireless, you actually get better grip when you have sweaty fingers. Its a bit slippery when your hands are completely dry. But once you are in game, 15-20 min, it sticks like glue to your hand :D. Used both Viper and GPW, and a bunch other, best for sweaty hands at least for me was GPW.
My Razer Naga and old wireless Razer mamba had the tracking issue you talked about where they would stop responding randomly. the issue you have with the mouse having micro stutters, I've experienced with all Razor mice that are wireless and wired. It never happened in wired mode, but in wireless I found significant issues with tracking performance. (This is coming from older razor mice that I had experiences with. I also had that same issue with my most recent corsair Dark Core. I boiled it down to RF interference. I've since, exclusively used the Glorious Model O.
Both great mouses, but i have large hand and i use palm grip, so the gpro is a lot better for me.

Maybe is just in my country, but both of them had the doble click issues. Is static that acumulate somewhere on the mouse, you get rid of it by blowing air on the left click (since is the only button with that issue). So far more than 2 weeks without issues, also the sensor was going crazy when I bought it, for some reason after a month use the new hero works ok now, no issues. The prometheus sensor was even worst, had it to replace to 500ms to fix the tracking issues, but the hero seem to work just fine at 1000ms response time. I know is the mouse, because I completly upgrade the PC this year and problems on the prometheus where still persisting (also you can read same issues on the internet). Hope they solve their doble click issues in the future or I'm swiching to another brand, at least the doble click has a solution but is annoying to have to blow the thing once a week when the problem return.
Well got my viper like two weeks ago and then this comes out... fell in love with the viper so it seems I will be picking up also this ultimate version :)

Review on the G Wolves Hati?
The ad for this video Was an unboxing of a mouse i litterly didn’t notice it was an ad until I saw the skip button. Lol
Hahaha wow talk about targeted marketing.
As someone who has had the Logitech G Pro Wireless for around 2 months, it may be worth me noting here for others to find, that i now have two issues I have had to log with Logitech:
- Left click now often registers a right click
- Right click often double clicks when pressed once
Off to my backup mouse while deciding on what FPS gaming mouse to get :
I just ordered it, should I cancel?
@@zaleskar I haven't seen anyone else online reporting these issues so it may just be me /mine. It's otherwise a very good mouse, so I'd keep the order tbh. I just wanted to put my experience out there for the Internet to see.
@@davecrawford9474 Double-clicking issues are very common on GPW. So that's that.
The 3399 seems snappier/more responsive and "raw" then my other mice with a 3360 sensor. It is the mouse that I feel is closest to my old Intellimouse 3.0 in terms of that 1:1 hand to screen feeling.

Ordered Viper Ultimate( no store were I lived had it so ordered blind). Ended up deciding to return it because of shape. According to everything I read before ordering the mouse it seemed like it should fit me but the mouse felt flimsy in my hand.
I am used to an old Logitech G5 which is a big heavy mouse. I am using fingertip grip. My hands are 20.5 cm long, 11.5 cm wide. Problem with the Viper was it didn't fill up my hand when I held it fingertip style. Had a lot more empty space at the back of the mouse than I am used to. I am sure I could have gotten used to it but since it was so expensive I figured best to return it if I have any doubts and get something else instead.
Went today to a store and tried some mice and two that I liked were BenQ zowie za12 and 13. Might buy one of those. Surprisingly the Zowie 13 which I guess is a small mouse felt like it fitted my hand great when I held it like I prefer. Just worry that not having software for that mouse will be a problem. I like to play old games and very often those games can't recognize sidebuttons. You would have to program the sidebutton beforehand to act as a keystroke to make it work. Does it exists programs that can do this for a mouse without its own software?
I guess your grip is palm claw hybrid. Since you want a portion of the hump to touch your palm and youre holding it with your fingertip. When you say fingertip grip, it means no other part of your had is touching the mouse rather than your fingertips. Because of this, then yeah..the viper is not suited for your grip style. Its best for real fingertip and claw grip.
What mouse grip style do you use and what mouse would you suggest for wide hands?
He uses fingertip grip
Was waiting for this since this morning! Yeahhhhh boiiiii
there's something about that g pro wireless that I just like
Probably the fact that you already spent $150 on it and don't want to admit there's a better wireless mouse.
@@chillskid ....
I love my Gpro Wireless, my only issue is that it is too short. I am a claw/palm user and didnt measure my hands before purchasing- now I almost exclusively have to play claw and awkwardly engulf the mouse with my palm and run my fingers along my mat to play palm grip. I tend to hold and adjust my mouse with hand and thumb respectively, so I am looking for the next mouse that is slightly longer or larger with all the features of the Gpro.
Thanks Zy
I like that you mentioned the cable. I frequently use my g pro wireless when it is plugged in and charging (not for gaming but for browsing or general computer work) and the cable is pretty annoying. Cheers!
I use my phone's usb cable for charging my g pro wireless because I'm lazy, and after like 5 minutes of use my brain just adjusts to it lol
@@Russet_Mantle 10,000 iq play lol My phone's usb cable would actually be way better :D
@@AverageJoe69420 i use the logitech powerplay mousepad which i've had for like 2 years now so i've never actually plugged in the cable
50 hour battery life, if you ever need to actually use it with the cable you've done fucked up for not charging when you don't need it.
When you test new sensor, could you test if it do not deviate after a long time not lifting the mouse (for example in FPoSu)
it is important for people with very high sens who do no lift the mouse often
deviation is caused by your own wrist movements, not the sensor
I like them both, I don't know which one to get 😑
so ?
I'm returning my VPU after a week of use due to a mushy right click that rattles, makes ADS unbearable. I'm not sure if I'm going to take the ever present Razer gamble on another one. I think I'll just stick to the G Pro Wireless which has been flawless since 2018. Outside the abysmal right click, the VPU did feel nice for what it's worth.
I come from the deathadder series (using a deathadder essential) and i am thinking of getting a new mouse, im considering the viper ultimate wireless but i am scared i will waste my money as i am not used to the ambidextrous design. Should i make the jump and switch?
don't do it, it has plenty of issues disconnecting issues faulty buttons etc i would wait until razor acknowledges the issues and fixes them or makes a v2 or check another mouse if you can't wait
i love the feel of the viper way more (claw grip big hands) but the mousewheel is so terrible i like using it to swap weapons even tho people dont recommend doing that i always achieved the highest ranks and it really bothers me :( the mouse wheel of the g pro is way better
I own a viper and I have never experienced the issue mentioned in the description with the WIRED version. Might be a wireless issue.
Yeah I haven't seen it on the wired one either, just the wireless... been weeks and still haven't figured it out and Razer can't replicate it. So yeah, weird one.

The issue where the mouse disconnects for a bit right...
I'm still experiencing that after installing the new update...

When is the website going to come out
I don’t know if I should get this. I just don’t like Synapse and I don’t like how you can’t change the buttons on the right side unlike the G Pro.
I tried Razer Viper Ultimate and Model D and I decided to return my Viper because of problems with the side buttons being very small, and the left mouse button has some space, meaning that when my finger move up from the key, it will bring the key to move up with it, and after the key will fall down and create a noisy sound.
I’m sticking with the g pro on this one mate
Imma stick with my finalmouse 58 until my scroll wheel breaks cause it happened with my other one
Marc Nordengreen yah I’m switching back to the Air bc I fucked the acceleration w the dm1 pro s software and just fixed it a day ago, 8/10 mouse, but would not recommend it due too the high price tag

I've been using a Corsair Harpoon for years, out of these two mice can anyone tell me which is more similar to a Harpoon grip wise?
Ik it’s a old comment but neither are similar at all really
@@ramenoodles1789 Old comment but not too late, still haven't bought either one. Still iffy on the mice, I know either one is a big upgrade from the Harpoon but I'm just so use to it that learning a new grip would be an annoying ass process. Glad to know they're not similar, I've heard the HyperX Pulsefire Dart is similar so I'm leaning towards that but still looking at options.
@@Corthmic if you are not playing competitive I think its no big deal.
To me the side buttons on the Viper are terrible, they sit too flush with the shell of the mouse and are way too hard to press in. Don't get the Viper if you play games that you need those 2 extra side buttons in. Also I love my g pro wireless, I hope at some point Logitech make a bit smaller version of it like glorious did with the model O-
The side buttons are a little tougher but manageable
I palm claw and the side buttons aren't a problem
Just wanted to quickly mention something related to the issue in your description. I'm currently using a Steelseries m600 and I sometimes have a very similar issue where the mouse will just randomly stop tracking for maybe half an inch of distance an then pick up again where it left off. Seems to happen more commonly when moving directly up and down (on the axis of the head/scroll wheel of the mouse). Just thought I would mention that, maybe other people might have similar problems
