- Prior to 2008 the bells were a ring of 5, and not a very tuneful ring at that and were unringable for many years. In 2008 they were augmented to 6, one of the former bells was retired and 2 new bells were cast by The Whitechapel bellfoundry which became Treble and 2nd of the new ring. They are now a very pretty light 6 with a Tenor weighing 5-3-19 in A, albeit one or two of the bells are slightly odd struck, but they sound good and go well.
The church of St Mary lies on the Western slopes of Dartmoor in a very rural but beautiful location near to the Walkham Valley.
Crikey, what a lovely little ring. Definitely going on the tower bucket list.
They are worth it!
gosh they sound beautiful with the tenor
I usd to live in the village; some great walks across Dartmoor to Princetown and back (but not for the faint-hearted!).
there's another nice little 6 at Lydford
Wow lovely 6 but back then they were awful but now listen to them they sound way better
