  • The bells of Ugborough were re-cast in 2018, into what are now probably the best octave of their weight in Devon. Prior to 2018 they were a mix bag and were notoriously difficult to ring and sounded pretty grim. When the new ring were first hung they had a set of ropes on which unfortunately were not really fit for purpose, mainly due to the long rope draught, thankfully they have put dyneema top ends on and have really changed the ring from an average set to an unbelievable ring of 8.
The bells were all cast by John Taylor & Co and literally sing to you, they are a beautiful ring of bells, the sound, go and the ringing experience is exceptional. Tenor 19-3-8 in E. I hope you enjoy this.

In this weird world we find ourselves currently living in it is wonderful to hear a remnant of the old England we used to know and love coming from Ugborough in Devon. So wholesome and heartwarming.

I prefer Ottery St. Mary and Kingsteignton, particularly the latter, Best 8 in Devon.
