You’re exactly right, I’m at the crossroads between the Crosstrek and the Forerunner. And yes, I agree with you again… This is a much more practical and safer choice.

I just added a little taller all terrain tire to the factory rims on my 2024 Crosstrek Sport, that should be enough for what I do.

We had a 23 limited Crosstrek and I don’t remember it being that quick 😂

Yeah! This was a legit full second faster than the dozen other 2.5 CTs I’ve tested…😂. Obviously the tires helped and overall must have been decently lighter. But I’m wondering if the engine was also tuned through the OBD2…🤔

The gas gauge was making me nervous. Lol. I’m a half tank or more, 1/4 tank in a pinch type of guy.

I hear you, lol. This is just how I found the vehicle. Otherwise I’m the same and care about fuel pump longevity. 😅

My 2018 Crosstrek I drove 20 miles on empty, when I got gas it took 16 gallons.

Out of the Subaru wilderness series, which do you recommend?

Personally I really like my 22 Outback Wilderness. But if the turbo was offered on the Forester, or if I didn’t want the turbo I would probably pick the Forester as it has slightly better visibility and a smaller foot print for parking and driving around town. 🙂

How do u add horsepower to a crosstrek?

I don’t think there’s a lot of options that are reliable power adders or make financial sense on this platform. The single best option is usually a tune via the OBD2 port if done by a reputable tuner. I wish I knew of this one was tuned, otherwise I’m very impressed with the performance upgrade from these lighter weight wheel/tire package.

Do you know any OBD2 that is compatible with 2022- 2024 model?

2024 is a new generation although I’m sure that the PCM or software encryption would have changed any over the last generation. And I personally do not know. My brother actually use to own a 1st and 2nd gen Crosstrek had had purchased a tune over the internet that he then uploaded from his computer. And he was happy with it, although I don’t remember the company name. A Google search should pop up all the potential options. I don’t want to personally recommend any especially where I don’t have first hand experience with Subaru tuning. In the past their engines have been more finicky to tune than something like a Chevy or Ford V8, and so I personally wouldn’t want to risk losing powertrain reliability from a tune that at best will only add 10% HP.
