Elijah Plummer me a barista waiting to tell my boss we should start selling whipped coffee when i go back to work 😳
Omg!! This is exactly what I've been telling everybody!!!😂
Chances are you won't get to read this, but if you do, you should try and Inverted Dalgona.
Ice first, Dalgona mix on top and then slowly pour in the milk (while rotating the glass).
That way, the milk already starts mixing. You'll get a neat 'waterfall' effect on the sides of the glass as the mix rises and there will be no need to end up with a sticky spoon because there's much less need to mix the drink.
If, while drinking, you regularly swirl the drink in the glass (to mix the milk and dalgona), you'll end up with nice foamy layer half-way through.
You mean...a Greece frappé?
Nice
it whips because instant coffee is freeze dried! freeze drying things replaces water with air so the instant coffee is aerated. That's why you get a "crema" like layer on instant coffee that looks like espresso.
Wow i learn something new everyday
👀👏🏻
it whips because you have a high concentration of coffee per amount of water
also coffee grounds no matter how fine are not soluble
for reference if you tried to make coffee on a regular coffee machine, you would put one **cup** of water per one **cup** of ground coffee. After making this you would need one cup of sugar. That is just of a waste of coffee and sugar. Using instant coffee is a practical way around that. in the process of whisking it you create a bunch of small bubbles to the point of creating a creamy texture. it is the same thing that happens when you make milk foam. The more you froth the milk, the more airy the foam is.
I love that you took the time to try different methods!!
I took too much time hahaha
Oh my gosh I absolutely love your videos! Your helping me see the light in the dark time ♥️♥️
Emma!! I love the doughnut recipe you put kn your channel !!
Omg I watch your videos does everyday and I tried out the homemade ice cream and the Crispy cream donut recipe
Emmma your recipes are fake I did the exact ingrediant and weigh ☹😫
I tried to make this for so long until I cried because it wouldn’t whip up and my mom had to explain that I was using ground coffee and not instant coffee 🙃
I just had the same problem. Instant coffee is much more fine- almost like a powder. It breaks down much easier than ground coffee due to it's small size.
Carol Baco no lol instant coffee is brewed coffee with the water taken out it’s not finer coffee grounds
Amanda Ellis lol really? So I wonder if I could brew a small batch of coffee grounds than put the liquid in a dehydrator somehow to suck all the liquid out lol
@@97AshleyRose honestly it might actually work, i know there are two different ways they dry them one is like a splatter method? Idrk but yeah I feel like if you splattered it on like parchment paper and then dehydrated it, it might work lol
Electro music I bet you could but that would take so long lol
It’s too strong for me. I’m a half cream half coffee person. Like “oh you want some coffee with your milk?” Yeah that’s me.
MyRockstar777 If you’re don’t mind a lot of sugar you can add about 1 or 1/2 of tbsp of sugar to the milk first or try putting some chocolate syrup of any kind on top.
Aw thanks I will def try that. :)
@@bluemoon673 or maybe you could add some vanilla extract to the coffee I added about 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract and I used sweetened vanilla almond milk because I dont like my coffee super strong :)
Once the whipped coffee is made, i mix it with a BUNCH of milk. Make sure to mix it completely. It’s not strong at all if you mix the whip into your milk.
@@faitharco5721 Yes, mixing it in was helpful for me. I added vanilla almond milk and vanilla caramel creamer. Stirred it up, it was good!
Also! A lot of people aren’t doing this and it’s making me go crazy, you have to mix it lol, I mixed it and used a straw so good! Edit: This is the most likes I’ve gotten holy cow! 😊
Oh I know! I get that it looks nice for pictures but then ppl are trying it and literally just getting milk or just getting the whipped part. Mix it ppl!
It's so much better mixed! Especially since there will still be a sort of microfoam that sits atop the drink like a steamed late only it doesn't need to be hot
yes!
Hi! Before I saw any of this I tried one day putting leftover brewed coffee, sugar, 3 or 4 ice cubes and almond milk. And I added a little half and half, in a blender. Whipped it in there. Already mixed and delish!!!!!
Donna pothier Cool! I’m glad it’s working for you.
Good video! Thank you for the shout out. Btw the day I experimented with reducing the coffee, I was just trying to help out viewers that had no instant coffee or limited resources. I thought your process was great and informative for those that may want to try this and cannot get to the store. Thanks again. 🙂
Hii
I made mine with 1 tablespoon coffee, 1 tablespoon milk, 1 tablespoon sugar, and half a tablespoon of cocoa powder. and added honey and carmel coffee syrup to the milk and OMG ITS INCREDIBLE
Ground coffee or instant?
anna Instant
@@spotellis ooOoO thanks imma try it
I love how you don't give up because if something didn't work for me the first time I would give up but you just keep going and that's what youtube needs.
I’m one of the millions out there who did dalgona coffee during this quarantine period! Who’s the same as me!
K. KFlana Yeah the initial whisking is abit messy! Haha.. but the final frothy coffee outcome is worth the effort! 💪🏻
K. KFlana 😂
I made it for my mother today! Me and my older sister were trying to cheer her up because she is right now doing work from home. Unfortunately, someone put a broken glass in the cabinet without realizing so it was a waste. The good news is that my mother tried it before everything went downhill so we'll definitely be making it again!
@K. KFlana Thank you! We love her with all are heart so I'll gladly tell her that you said hello! Have a lovely day and be safe.
My husband is out getting groceries today and I made a special request for supplies! Can’t wait to try making it. Have to do it by hand as I broke my hand mixer a few weeks ago 😩
I don’t even like coffee, but watching this is making me hungry!
hahaha when its all done, this really doesn't even taste like coffee any more
I know right, I been making boa buns for over 2 hours now so i am going to make this coffee and enjoy it with my buns
*Hey, check out my KFC style recipe 🍗🍟 and other recipes!* ruclips.net/video/VF5OHskApzQ/видео.html with CC in English
ME TOO
ruclips.net/video/LwXVY-eiU_g/видео.html 👈🏼 try this one in the link , I tried and it turned out so goooood and tastier !! 🤤🤤 also they showed the more easy way!
I learned from a sweet Italian lady how to make the best Espresso. Take first couple tablespoons of espresso the really strong couple tablespoons just as it starts it brew, you don't need much, add sugar and simply whip with a fork, by the time the espresso is done you have a pretty thick sweet coffee cream that will actiually sit on top of your coffee or espresso. It's easy, and oh so good once you get air in the coffee and suger its like a drug ;-)
Thank you!
Yes I was going to say this, I lived in Italy for 3 years they've been doing this forever with a moka pot, the very first coffee that starts to come out
This looked so yummy I was like let me try this since I have instant coffee. I whisked it by hand for 2 minutes and now I’m drinking it and I’m so pleased. Thank you!
Quantum Kitty no way it did not take u two minutes. It took me like twenty bruh
@@impasta12321 I heard a hack that if you put less water it works waay faster. Took me twenty min too but i'm gonna try again with less water.
I'm a cafe bustello girl, I've never bought instant coffee before, but I must try this recipe! Looks tasty
🤤🤤🤤 I make a vegan chocolate pudding from raw cashews, agave nectar, a can of coconut milk and raw cocoa powder in my blender (ingredients depend on how thick/runny and sweet you want it)!! Mixing these would be insaaaane!! 🤤🤤🤤🤤 It makes the best nutty-iy rich chocolate pudding EVA! Thickens up once refrigerated. I want the coffee and chocolate TOGETHER!
Sounds delicious
@@immameditate8342 you gotta try it!! 🤤🤤🤤💜
Omg i wanna try this could you give me some rough measurements or ratios just so i have a point to start from?
Adding a reply so I get a notification if you post more information! ❤️
🤣🤗💜 I made it to share! LOL! I used 1 can 18oz can of Chaona Coconut Milk, 1/2 cup Anthony's Organic Raw Cocoa Powder, less than 2/3 c Izzys Organic Blue Agave Syrup and 1 and 1/2+ c of raw unsalted cashews! A pinch of salt for flavor. Blended on high for about 2 minutes. 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤Makes the best Chocolaty high protein and antioxidant shake or refrigerate it overnight to thicken for the best pudding. I hope you guys try it!! I just throw stuff together in my kitchen 🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️🤣
I am 75, when I was a child (6) my mother made a desert called coffee sponge! It followed basically the same thought prospect but it contained instant coffee, sugar water and Knox unflavored gelatin! You beat it till it foamed and then after putting into glasses, you sprinkled chocolate sprinkles on top! Loved it!
my favorite part of all your videos is "LOOK at THAT!" it's so genuine and so fun and enthusiastic, it makes me feel rlly excited about foods :D
This is so amazing! I love that you try so many methods, give various substitutes, and, most importantly, TELL us what didn’t work! This is really the scientific method! I love how much I learned from this! I love coffee, but have never heard of this, and now I can’t wait to make it! Thanks for the very informative demonstrations. ☕️🤯🤩😁
Been doing this for weeks. It's amazing.
I first started drinking this coffee when we went to Greece in the mid 90’s I was hooked. The Greeks call it a frappe!
SUBSCRIBED!! omgg i really like how you explain everything!! keep it up 🙌🏻🙌🏻
i used to work as a barista, before this dalgona coffee go viral, i tried to 'froth' cold brew coffee with optional flavor syrup, they easily frothed, creamy and smooth
Funny. Really enjoyed your edits and the rawness. Keep it! Thank you.
I tried the first method as soon as I saw how easy it was and I loved it!
Great video! Easy to follow! First step worked perfect!
thank you for making a video that is down to the point and not a whole bunch of filler to a reciape that didnt work! thank you keep on making great content!
Bro, listen... Your final method... That's how they make instant coffee! They boil coffee down, discard the grounds... Then they quickly freeze the remainder in a way that removes the liquid component. Why it works is it's essentially the same factor movie a few steps and then whipping it into the falcons.
Thank you for saying this. I know too many people that feel like their dignity is at stake for using 'instant' coffee (OMG, instant coffee, you big loser!) and they're looking for fashionable, trendier ways to make this. Only realizing, they're just making homemade instant coffee lmao.
@@ryantrudell4686 yeah but the grounds they use at home to make it are waaaay better than what's used in making instant coffee. Instant coffee basically just uses all the rejected beans from packaging plants coffee. It's as low quality as you can get.
No no, not true. Instant is not just reduced fresh coffee, it also goes through a filtering process to remove oils. It's the absence of these oils which is what sets it apart and makes it more usable to create a foam.
Instant coffee is usually made from robusta beans which are not inferior, just different.
Love your different tries! The last boiled one is the best 👍
I admire you not giving up! Thank you I had a great time
I love the creativity and effort you put into this!! Your other videos seem cool too, subscribed!
It's really cool that you took so much time to figure out the best possible recipes. 😃
Hey great video, thanks! Love the first recipe method, it's simple and to the point and I am a Folgers instant coffee girl!
I made this with chicory root coffee..with ice cold water..worked perfectly.
imma try it tomorrow for sure. thanks for sharing this
Saved me the trouble of trying. Thanks for the info.
We've been making this all week but have been enjoying the foam on top of hot vanilla almond milk instead of iced. (One batch made with 2tbsp of everything divided between 3 mugs)
Thank you for doing that... I feel ur exasperation & determination! 🙏🏼💕
This is why I watch you. You come up with all these great ideas! That way I don’t have to. :)
TALK about dedication!
The first coffee you can keep whipping it until you get the second coffee's color. It gets a lot more dense, firm and has a softer taste 👌🏼
I’m so excited for this
I tried it with a coffee substitute (malted coffee) and it worked! It even froths without sugar, so water and coffee is enough for creating this consistency (but I have to add it has a really strog bitter taste without sweetener)
I was just thinking about using coffee subs. Like using dandelion tea in place of water, but that might be too much. Ersatzkaffee with dandelion sounds like something to try though.
Love your videos and your energy!! 😊🙏
I really enjoyed watching your video
Great ways to try new things
Oooh... that looks amazing! Thanks for finding a way to make it with regular brewed coffee, this way I can try it out without popping out to the store for instant coffee! :)
What I've done which is a nice version I think: 1-2 tablespoons of sugar with enough water to wet it. Microwave for 1-1.5 minutes until the sugar is mostly melted. Add an espresso shot and a tablespoon of sugar and whip. I also like it on hot oat milk because I'm not a fan of iced coffees. Works pretty well for me :)
Glad to see I wasn't tripping. I started using instant coffee for quick iced coffees for work & before the gym. I was like, "It gets thick?? I need to start measuring." Cool video!
So I watched your video and went to Target. I added Maxwell french vanilla to the milk and then added the whip on top of that. It's delicious
I found this idea a few weeks ago on RUclips and now I’m seeing it everywhere.
The coffee you're making it's called Frappe and it's from Greece.
A little back story for the coffee:
Frappé coffee (also Greek frappé or café frappé Greek: φραπές, frapés) is a Greek iced coffee drink made from instant coffee, water and sugar. Invented through experimentation by Dimitris Vakondios, a Nescafe representative in 1957 in Thessaloniki, frappé is sold primarily in Greece and is among the most popular drinks in Greece and Cyprus, and is available at virtually all Greek cafés. The word frappé is French and can be defined as 'chilled in crushed ice'. The frappé has become a hallmark of post-war outdoor Greek coffee culture.
We have frappé’s already in western cafes
Mary Oh I thought it was S Korean bc that’s where the trend started. But looks like it’s origin is from Greece. Starbucks (and other coffee places) also makes frappes and frapacinos. But they aren’t made with instant coffee so not the same as this.
A year later and this is by far the most helpful video on the internet, thank you!!
I tested this with espresso, it works quite well! Not as frothy as the instant one, but it tastes fresher!
I’ve made the dalgona coffee twice now, and the first time I did the basic recipe, with regular milk, ice, and the coffee, but the second time I made it I used almond milk, added vanilla to it, cinnamon, caramel, ice, and then the coffee and mixed it up. It was very good, it makes me miss Dutch Bro’s and Starbucks a little less lmao
Your videos make me happy
I’ve been obsessed with dalgona coffee this past week and I’ve been making with with the instant coffee method, and I add some creme brulee flavored creamer & caramel syrup around the cup and its significantly helped my Starbucks cravings during quarantine
Thanks so much for sharing. I don't buy instant coffee so this is great.
great content! keep it up! thanks!
I'm definitely gonna try this tomorrow 😍
thanks i use the nescafe still the best with a long pencil type hand mixer and i love it,thanks for your time good video
Thank you for doing this! Instant coffee Isn’t popular where I live, so your last method was very helpful for me :)
Thanks!l am going2b using this4my bonafee pie!!😋
👏🏼😄 I like all the tries
Oh...caramel like taste, love that! Made mine with almond milk and coconut sugar.
Cool. Great to watch.
I put the topping on iced coffee as well as chocolate milk for a mocha drink, excellent combos.
You put so much work into your videos... Thank you. I'll make a vegan whipped coffee with soy milk (because it's my favourite).
Technique that already works perfectly: Hey!
Sauce Stache: What if I try all these other methods that require complicated ingredients, take longer, and don't come out as good?
😅 I appreciate that you enjoy taking the complicated path, dude.
I actually enjoy watching these videos, it's a giant experiment!
@@kristagibson8533 Agreed!

Gah, so glad I watched this! I've been wondering the same thing and would've been sooo frustrated because I don't have half of the things you mentioned in my pantry lol. Guess instant coffee is going to have a moment. Thanks for sharing!
I used 2 tablespoons regular black coffee and 2 tablespoons of sugar and used a stand mixer and it worked perfectly. I am not sure if it was the coffee or the mixer that made it work but it was still really good
Thanks so much for sharing this! I thought it would be cool to make regular coffee, and topped it with whipped cream and 'whipped coffee' cream... the results were amazing!
Luciano Melendrez Barcelo That was a day ago. . .I assume you are still wide awake?
@@ComplicatedInvisibility I am
My favorite way to have it is mixed in some milk with ice with French vanilla creamer and some nesquick powder
My auntie used to do a hot coffee version in the 60s in England ,she would put a spoonful of instant coffee with sugar and a teaspoon water whip it in the mug with the teaspoon for just a couple of minutes till frothy ,then pour hot water and hot milk over it ,fabulous,
Oooh thanks for showing it with regular coffee!
Hi
I was mixing some of this up trying to find a video to watch in my subscription. 💞
I put brewed coffee, sugar, almond milk, a little half and half, and 3 or 4 ice cubes in the blender and whipped it! Delish!!!!
I added my favorite creamer to the milk to sweeten it up a bit and it was amazing!!
I made some today and topped it with cacao nips😍 Delish
Your awesome I’m glad I found your Chanel 😃
Ugh, I needed this! I have been trying to figure out how I could do this with brewed coffee so I could make it decaf (I’m breastfeeding and trying to limit my caffeine intake).
*not all heroes wear capes*
I made it from fresh brewed coffee and it came out very delicous and frothy. Works good I only need to whisk for 6 minutes. ☕😋😍
I also noticed that it was too bitter and the cheep instant coffee really took over, so I added more sugar after it came to stiff peaks. Then I mixed it fully into the milk (I used almond) and it was really good! The original was also good but after awhile it became too rich to finish if that makes sense!
since the only instant coffee, i have is decaf (sad) and I drink brewed, I've been using hot concentrated coffee instead of hot water and it works perfectly
could you explain your process a bit? i wanna try this as well but i also only have ground coffee, sorry if this is troublesome but thanks!
@@tiredren Oh no problem! tho I've been actually using the decaf instant coffee, so idk if it'll work for you. Its just the standard 1-1-1 parts process of the original but I'm using Black coffee instead of water (so 1 part instant, 1 part sugar, part brewed coffee, maybe a teaspoon of cocoa powder)
@@ghosted_anarchist thank you so much!
tried it with cashew milk-turned out great!
I appreciate all the effort you put into this. You gotta stir the original though
If you don't want to get out your mixer, and dirty a bowl, a blender ball will do it, I made this about a dozen times, got tired of the extra dishes, and switched to blender ball in Mason jar. Since you are going to stir it up anyway just pour the milk on top and stir.
I did the second one
It was really good
You can also make it with ice water rather than hot if you adjust the measurements. I have also tried making it with coconut sugar and it makes for a less sweet foam. Like cappuccino foam.
i remember making dalgona with folgers instant coffee a few months ago, i put it in a cup and mixed it with a fork for a few minutes. it was okay. i really didnt like how sweet it was and it wouldnt really mix into the milk. the good thing that came from it was i realised how amazing instant coffee was and ever since then ive been drinking the decaf version every day lol.
I've been living under a rock as I've only just hear of this 🙈! I can't wait to attempt it myself xD
I tried your version with the xantham gum using a dark french roast and hazelnut blend. Wow, this can get addicting. Its almost like a coffee candy in liquid form.
Like you said is just trending! I like putting my blend on the bottom not on the top, it's easier to mix it at the end!
I made it and it’s so good. Instead of regular milk I use bailey’s Irish creme liquor
Simply mama is the best!!!!!! Thanks for shouting her out! 🙌🏻🙌🏻
I used a hand blender to mix the coffee and whisked it by hand at the end , it saved me a heck of a lot of time
To my understanding what allows the instant coffee to whip up so well is that theres freeze dried crema mixed in with the granules. When his with the water it's essentially turning into cream. So you are making whipped cream with crystaline coffee to help hold it's structure together.
i live in rhode island and our state drink is coffee milk made with coffee syrup, and now i'm curious to see if the coffee syrup would whip up. you are very creative!
We just did this and it took forever but we got it to work with regular brewed coffee. A cup of coffee and ALOT of sugar like 16 tables spoons, mixed in mixer for about 11 minutes and then literally let it sit there and separate and the while top of it was foam and its amazing.
lmao I think anything would taste good with 16 tablespoons of sugar. Jesus, that's so much haha
This coffee craze has been taking over
