I think people call it different because it's typically seen with that milk layer and the coffee sat ontop. With a frappe a photo is taken after it's all mixed in, SO I guess because the photo was taken at a different stage it's a WHOLE NEW COFFEE!! lol
As a coffee lover , this kind of videos really helps alot . i often spend money at starbucks or any cafe just to buy a latte / cappucino / iced coffee / machiato . now i saved alot of money thanks to youtube as a source and youtuber like you as my teacher :) plus , when you said " if you dont like the process , wait for next one" that was so thoughtful of you . because people might just give it a thumbs down or bad comment or skip your videos right after they see you mix it manually . thanks again for the chocolate idea , gonna give it a try
Wow! In Mexico I was taught what was called a "Secretary's Coffee" (because supposedly Secretaries used to make it while at the office), which is whisking the ingredients with a spoon to make a frothy coffee, before adding hot water. It's delicious, and even an instant coffee's flavour changes a lot although it's not as creamy as this one. I shall try it next, thanks!
@@HandsTouch But she wrote exactly what you have done but in the hard way !! . I cant even imagine how long would take to do something not even closer to that creamy consistence you can see in your video with a spoon !! I use my electric coffee frother , small one and it is perfect. It is the way I do since ever .... one coffee spoon of sugar , one of coffee and 2 or more of hot water makes a gorgeous coffee !

The coffee you're making it's called Frappe and it's from Greece. A little back story for the coffee: Frappé coffee (also Greek frappé or café frappé Greek: φραπές, frapés) is a Greek iced coffee drink made from instant coffee, water and sugar. Invented through experimentation by Dimitris Vakondios, a Nescafe representative in 1957 in Thessaloniki, frappé is sold primarily in Greece and is among the most popular drinks in Greece and Cyprus, and is available at virtually all Greek cafés. The word frappé is French and can be defined as 'chilled in crushed ice'. The frappé has become a hallmark of post-war outdoor Greek coffee culture.
my mom used to make that in the 2000s. she told me that's how most people used to make coffee until grounded coffee took over. in romania we call it 'ness' and we make this really nice cake with it
Made it and loved it. I buy all my instant coffee from Europe and for this recipe I used Nescafé Gold Crema instant coffee. For the milk I used almond milk. It was marvelous!
Whoa didnt know you could make a bunch and then freeze it for later use - I make a version of the first one and the third one on the weekends as a treat and switch up from the usual weekday coffee, so good!
Congratulations! You're the smartest person here. You either don't mix it so you don't lose that layer that you worked hard to get and then you're basically just drinking milk or you mix it and lose that fluffy top you just created and it just tastes like regular coffee and milk .... or what I guess Americans call a latte. Most useless and pointless thing I have ever seen.
This is the greek frappe!! And it has been lots of years ago..!!! Also we have frappe machines!! Come to Greece or Cyprus and you will enjoy it at its original version!🥤🥤🥤

@@anastasiadespotidi679 greek frappe isnt as whipped as this even if it has the same ingredients greek frappe seems to have many more air bubbles than dalgona coffee
This drink in particular, Dalgona coffee, originated from India, Pakistan, and Macau. it’s also known as whipped coffee or beaten coffee. I have looked at the FRAPPE from Greece you are talking about, and the ingredients are the same but FRAPPE calls for two teaspoons of coffee and sugar, and 2/3 cups of cold water. While they are very similar, FRAPPE looks to look more thin and foamy and calls for less ingredients while Dalgona coffee is thicker and calls for more ingredients. They are indeed probably related to each other and inspired. Thank you for you’re time. :)
