When doing the infinite reload glitch on PC hold down E (your action keybind), and just before you swap weapons, double tap reload. I saw this comment by Baron von Zlatan, thought this would help anyone having trouble with the infinite reload glitch.

If you dismember a combat form in CE, they will follow you, but without arms they cant hurt you. Useful to keep one as a pet sometimes so you can bash it for shields.

I FOUND A NEW STRAT FOR THE FIRST CORNER:
Instead of going straight to the shotgun, trigger the first combat forms to spawn and lead them to the shotgun while killing them, then get the shotgun and medkit. They usually drop more shotgun, pistol, and grenades for you too! Then as you move up to the corner, after you kill all the leftover infection forms, you'll get a checkpoint! Makes the next corner a lot easier and removes the need to shoot the glass :)

@@_MaZTeR_ Not really only 5ish from memory. You only wants the first combat forms from the tube thing on the wall to chase you.
I can confirm that this is a much, much easier strategy (though the shotgun in the corner only gave me 2 rounds when I picked up the ammo from it after getting one from the combat forms). The rest of the strat for the first corner is fine and much easier to pull off with this first group taken care of, and I even got a checkpoint right as I reached the end of the hall just before the corner, so I didn't have a lot of running to repeat over and over.
4 years later this was my roadblock. I just completed odst laso in 2 days and gave me the confidence to try this again. Here we we again
Having a hard time doing the infinite ammo glitch
Been Waiting For this one. After TnR I could get to Library on LASO easily enough myself, but this. this is hell.

Infinite reload glitch on PC
1. Get setup, weapon on ground to swap with, weapon you want to reload in hand
2. Instead of tapping reload once, tap it twice like a backpack reload setup.
3. As soon as you finish pressing reload a second time, hold E (or whatever key you binded to) to switch weapons with the one on the ground.
4. You probably have headphones on so listen for the reload complete animation
5. Pick the weapon back up.
I can't remember the details of why exactly this glitch works but I think it's something with vertical sync since the game should have lower fps relative to most refresh rates. This is obviously harder on PC given the frame boost of 60fps or unlimited and whatever refresh rate your monitor is. Correct me if I'm wrong on that though.

Much respect to the intrepid warriors who are doing these LASO achievements … I watched this video and it seems a nightmare. I remember hating it when I did it on a legendary over 2 decades ago I can’t imagine this on LASO.

Yeah the first floor is the toughest. It gets easier as you go since you get to build up your supplies.

Shotguns reload one shell at a time so after a while of trying to get the infinite ammo glitch to work on the shotgun, I found success. I'm on PC but I don't think it is much different to console. If anyone is having trouble with it, this is how I got it to work consistently for me. Do these consecutive actions quickly: Hit "reload" then "hold down weapon pick up button" then hit "reload" again. You should hear the shotgun reloading while it is on the ground. If you're having trouble with the IAG on other reloadable weapons, it is probably because you are not reloading twice before picking up the third weapon. Either let the reload animation start from an empty clip and then manually press the reload button before picking up the third weapon in quick succession, or perhaps your clip is only partially full so quickly press the reload button twice and then switch out the gun you were reloading with the third gun on the ground.
I've been hunting CE achievements and running these LASO missions for a couple days now and I've made a lot more progress following these guides than I would have on my own, lol, I probably would have burnt out sooner trying LASO with no guide. I love your vids man. They're easy to understand (I wouldn't say easy to follow because of the RNG in this game Lol) with your detailed explanations and occasional hilarious commentary and I am so grateful you managed to make these guides. As of this comment, I only have 3 more missions left in the CE LASO playlist and wow, it's such a huge relief. Thanks so much man! xD
I heeded your warning on not switching weapons into the gap between the ramp but then I forgot and I got my fully reloaded shotgun stuck, haha, but at least there were a couple other shotguns laying around and I was lucky to have had a rocket launcher on me too so I was able to stock back up on shotgun ammo.

For the shotgun glitch, what I found worked for me was immediately after firing the shotgun switch with whatever gun happens to be on the ground. This always resulted in the infinite ammo glitch working. If you start seeing the reload animation before you switch weapons then it won't work.
For reference I'm playing on PC using a controller.

I was thinking the same thing, way more deaths on that first corner than the whole of TnR, not even kidding. Library still the hardest mission of CE and among the toughest of the saga
This level was the 2nd worst after TT&R for me, but thanks to your guide I managed to make my way through it.
Finally after 2 hours I got past this level, was stuck on the first floor on where the carrier forms jump down for a few days but rng was on my side today, 3 more missions left!
20 minutes into the guide, it's taken about 4 hours so far 😭

I just beat this level last night. Came back to talk about some strats that made it easier than just running around and you go and update a new one. Ah well.
For the hell of it: What I did was take it slow in after finishing tunnel areas. I'd let a wave of Flood spawn, taunt them, then run back into the tunnel and around the first corner. They chased me and I got into a slap fight with the one in front. The ones behind him end up shooting him in the back. Did that for all the waves and it got me quite a handy amount of ammo.
Just completed this mission, I've always been scared to do this mission on library but I can now officially say I never need to do it ever again!! Thanks so much!!
Haven't played this mission in many years (not planning on doing so anytime soon either), but I'm just so entertained by this walkthrough lol.
this is a hell of a level, i found it tough in normal, I couldn't do it in laso, its crazy
If you can beat TNR on laso, you can beat the rest of the game
Bruh, I think this is the hardest LASO mission, I didn’t struggle on H2 Gravemind as much as I did on this one. And I’m still stuck here, I had made it halfway through but then I accidentally restarted the whole mission. Im so mad I m not even gonna try this again for at least a month.
I managed to reach the last door only for the save and quit method to not work and send me to the beginning of the mission FML
What I do since this also happened to me is make regular backups of my saves, that way I can always revert to those when it bugs out or I accidentally hit restart
I couldn't do the infinite ammo glitch on neither the shotgun or the rocket launcher. I still completed this mission following this guide though, so those who have the same issue, you can still complete it!
I could semi-consistently get it for those weapons but they're definitely harder than the rest of the UNSC arsenal. With the shotgun, best method I've found so far is to hold E outside the range of picking up a weapon, hold forward and double tap R a little bit before picking up the third weapon. If you're too early it won't work and if you're too late you might spend a shell or two. As for rockets, I would just frantically mash R a few times before switching to the third weapon, which usually worked. I'd usually spend a shell or two to reload the shotgun from almost empty, which wasn't an issue, but messing up the rockets was a checkpoint revert.
I know I’m objectively wrong, but for me this level was actually the most fun laso level yet. No bs RNG, no bs elites who won’t stop moving so I can shoot them, fatty flood will blow up all their teammates, infinite shield smacking some popcorns, infinite ammo for rockets, tons of unsc weapons for ammo, and well placed health packs. Long as hell, but pretty fun for me

I don't know how consistent it is, but at 23:00 where you exit the 2nd tunnel and spawn the initial wave, i managed to bait a carrier flood across the line in the floor and have him alive when Guilty Spark disappears, and this stopped the initial wave from spawning at all, so there are no enemies to fight there at all (except for the separate 3 by the door).
This guide was a huge help but I've never gotten such horrible checkpoints on the library before lol. I'd get a checkpoint every time I screwed up the infinite ammo glitch for the rocket launcher, even with grabbing the second rocket launcher it only dropped enough for one shot, so i had to just suck it up and only use the shotty.
Not easy but most certainly not as bad as Two Beytrayals. Very excited to see your pain on that one.

Since there is some confusion on the infinite ammo glitch. If your weapon is empty or still has ammo left in it regardless you need to tap reload once then hold the second time to pick up the other weapon if you are on controller. For PC with KnM, I believe you have to double tap reload before picking up the weapon. In my experience on controller I find double tapping reload button helps to make sure I don't accidentally reload too soon timing wise but I tested and it has no negative affect to infinite ammo. So if you want to double tap THEN hold the reload that will help. For the shotgun, you have to pickup the other weapon right as you are loading in the first shell. So though this risks you losing 1 or 2 shells potentially sometimes but it's well worth it to get 6 more shots each time in LASO. Rockets are very tricky. In LASO you only get 1 shot before reload so you have to tap reload right away and then hold X to spawn before it is too late. For the rockets or any other weapon you have that is empty with reserve ammo but you don't want to use immediately then switch weapons and then switch back when you are over a third weapon and then tap reload then hold to pickup weapon.
Hopefully this helps. It seems simple enough but it's hard to remember in the middle of combat and if you do it too fast or too slow it will take your reserve ammo or not work and you lose the advantage.
Technically you don't have to tap X at all before picking up for the reload but for some reason I just do it too fast and it instead it reloads but it takes my reserve ammo from rockets which is infuriating

call me a masochist but aside from the second to last room i had a blast. Can't believe I just cleared this.
This is madness.
WARNING ! WARNING! don't use the solo 2 controllers methode in this mission please! because you will get yourself in trouble like i did!!. I spent 2h30m playing and when i reached the final room the cutscene won't start. It want me to get my 2nd controller to fhe final room in order to finish the mission while at the moment the 2nd controller is idle at the 3rd floor elevator it won't teleport to you! Now you need to pass all of the 3rd floor with you 2nd controller which is full of floods my health was low no shiled no shotgun but the good thing i was haveing 4 grenades and you won't get any checkpoints while playing with 2nd-co, you can use the grenade jump but you will die from the enemys from behind and infront waiting for you with infinite spawn, I used the tunnel. Eventually i kept trying for 1h30m and succeeded to reach the end with the 2nd-co and finish the chapter but it was realy frustrating. Thank you halo compilations great guide.
Just happened to me and my buddy, he went to pick up food real quick, and I got to the point right before the third elevator. 343 wouldn’t open the door to advance and I realized I needed my friend there with me. Took like a hour to get past that part😞
I’ve done laso twice (yes completed the whole game), once with a friend, and once me with a controller by myself, this level is Bs, the carrier forms have a blast radius of a damn rocket, and foreign added with boom, makes this level no fun, but I made sure to mix speed run guides with laso to do this, not many people try laso and don’t know that you can skip many parts of this level with despawns and grenade jumps, mix it up and it will help if you, did for me.
For me it’s the recession skull fixed with famine that’s making this mission a pain, foreign isn’t a problem for me on this mission because Im using human weapons regardless, some parts I have little to no ammo
Got to the final room with nearly no ammo or health whatsoever. Spent about 15 minutes alerting enemies and meleeing them in a corner. Took the long way to the index and thought I was going to fall off the ramps. And finally got the cutscene. Thanks silver for helping me throughout the level. The end was probably the most stressful 15 minutes of my life

But I did find it way easier to just grenade jump that last door and then going to the left instead of using the RL.

I pretty much went hand in hand with this guide, one thing i did different is right at the end, at the big door that opens to the end of the level, instead of hanging back with rockets doing the infinite reload glitch, try to make it to the door relatively unscathed. Once the door starts to open frag grenade jump up and walk through and just b line it to the end. Its actually a lengendary speedrun strategy that works in this LASO scenario.
Yeah I had that in my original LASO guide back in the day, but switched to this one since it's easier for most people.

Thanks for the guide! Finally beat it on our second actual attempt in Coop. Our first attempt was ruined when we got disconnected on the last checkpoint after six hours of grinding our way through the level.
One thing we found, when you're in that hallway/tunnel and shooting rockets out of the end of it (the one at 26:00). Stand in the center of the last corner in the hallway before the ramp, on old graphics you can see an indent in the ceiling. If you turn on new graphics you can jump and poke your head through where that indent should be and see through the void to see the enemies standing around the ramp. That way you can see how many enemies there are and where.
Finally did it, only took me 2 hours. You're my fucking hero man.
After dying 50+ times, I finally completed this mission.

At 39:55 I was confused at first since I was playing anniversary graphics; apparently they skipped this section since it's just a wall you can walk through and it acts as a noclip. Great guide though, as always

6 hours man.. it took me 6 hours
It took me 1 hour of game time / 2 hour in real time. Is not that bad, it is just exhausting.
If anyone goes through this in co-op, I’ve found that on the third chapter one of the doors spark goes to open will bug out and never open if both players aren’t present when first reaching the door. The only fix I’ve found for this is a restart. If you do this with a second player make sure they’re there with you for that part.
Once again following your advice has gotten me through a LASO level. I was really stuck here until I decided to follow your advice to the letter.

2 hours in. Stuck in a really bad checkpoint with low hp, no ammo, a fuckton of enemies. Literally in the last section of the level before the last door. I HAVE TO DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN

As much as I appreciate the guides, it's so frustrating when things don't work how you describe they will. There are so many small tricks you do that I can never replicate without and absurd amount of luck. A lot of times I have to ignore the guide because things are happening so differently. I'm just salty though. Still appreciate all you do.
Just beat this in co-op with a friend. For the final room we had barely any ammo. I had my friend boost me up onto the door as it was opening to get into the elevator room before the enemies in there spawn; so I can safely get to the elevator and end the mission. When we realized we both needed to be on the elevator for the mission to end, we both died a little inside... Until I noticed I can bait most of the enemies that spawn in the elevator room to a corner of that room; making it safer for my friend to walk in. Then it was just up to RNG, hoping a shotgun flood wouldn't jump through the door and insta-gib him.
I could see the index, died. Save/ exit failed mission re started
Been running coop, only 5 levels to go in coop laso for all of MCC, completed Truth and Reconciliation, Silent Cartographer, and Assault on the Control room in the same day
this was the hardest laso mission on CE for me. sitting in those tunnels smacking 17 waves of flood was horrible
@VibrantWolf library was hardest for me, but yeah most people will say TnR. i struggled more and was more miserable on this mission then TnR. i was able to get all the enemies to stack in the belly of the ship on TnR so it wasn't bad.. the hardest part was the end of the mission cause keys kept killing himself for 45 minutes
T&R was harder but Library is more tedious

To do the Infinite Reload Glitch on KB+M with the Shotgun hold the Switch Weapon Key and quickly press reload (Default R) twice as you are holding the action key (default E), it works even if the weapon isn't empty
Wait do I have to gold two buttons at the same time and tap R twice too?
Only hold the one that grabs the weapon, Reload key tap twice, it doesn't need to be held

Ion the bits with the giant monitors and flood jump down. I'm not sure if this is a thing but I ran up the ramp as far as I could and jumped forward towards where we are heading and they only jumped down one time. I think it despawned them.
This mission on LASO felt more like COD Zombies. Glad all those hours of playing zombies payed off.

Halo: Fight Club edition
THE FUCKING LEVELS KEEP RESTARTING, FUCKING HELL I'M NOT EVEN DYING REEEEE.
Here's how I reload glitch - For Shotgun, already have two shells loaded(min), then stand away from the 3rd weapon so it does NOT say Press E to swap. Then HOLD E, double tap reload and walk over the 3rd gun. You want to do it as soon as possible, the quicker I do it the more success I have.
To reload with rockets is a little more awkward, be sure not to accidentally do the backpack reload thing by doubletapping and swapping. You want to melee with the rockets to ensure that the animation is at the very beginning. Again, the earlier you swap during this animation the better. So get into position just like above and then melee, doubletap reload then walk over the third. It was pretty much guaranteed when I melee'd to reset that animation. I got no fix for the restart bug tho, hardest part about LASO is that restart bug. Best of luck.

This JUMP. I got the hard one FIRST TRY, but never activated the monitor. The hardest part is getting on to the first pillar and getting lucky on jump 2
Bruh fukin great guide. Love despawning almost all enemies lmao 🤣 but i had to rely on melee throughout the missions lmao 🤣 was az lucky as u with damn 50 shotty ammo and whatnot. Those damn carrier forms kept killing my ass on solo laso. PTSD combined with Vietnam flashbacks intensifies!!. Love all ur guides my guy. I'm currently on the library as i type this. On the final floor after rage quitting and being killed many times in the past 3 days lmao 🤣 im a noob to solo laso
How do you do the infinite reload on the rocket launcher? Since you shoot both rockets at once you reload automatically before you even hit the reload button
I still try to reload it manually and if you’re quick enough you get the infinite glitch but it’s harder to do than other weapons

Idk what it is about the Library, i just love playing through it. I have never gotten pissed off by playing it, no matter how many times i die. I’d say The Library and Two Betrayals are my favorite missions in Halo CE. I can give you my list of favorites if you want :)
On that rocket run, were using the backpack reload and infinite ammo simultaneously? Cuz I noticed you weren't picking up another weapon.
I had Bandanna on for just that one part.

Am I missing something? Around the 27 minute mark when he's do infinite rockets, he doesn't appear to be swapping the rockets with a gun on the ground.

This one was rough but I still think TNR has been the hardest so far
So getting the second check point took me like over an hour alone really seemed like a lot of RNG mainly just have to hug the left wall and run as fast as possible to get to that first save spot but if u are able to and the rng is good so u have shotgun ammo on the ground near you, you should have the extra ammo needed for the infinite ammo glitch through the rest of the level pretty much. It’s just getting past that first checkpoint and hoping you have enough shoutgun ammo you can reload for the glitch. Also I don’t know how but I also had 2 extra grenades at that spot also even though I followed silver pretty much exactly so idk where I got the extra nades but hope this helps
That mission was a nightmare. Worst than T&R for me. My goal when i did it was to not get a bad checkpoint.
I went for the grenade jump on the last door, if you are not fast enough enemies can spawn directly on you. That happened to me and of course the game gave me a checkpoint...
Right next to a carrier and shotgun floods with no shield and low health.. i almost gave up but after 10-15 mins i survived somehow.
I'm done with halo ce LASO, Two Beytrayals was surprisingly not that bad (once you pass the first 2 rooms..). Next halo 2...
You're going to get slapped in the face after starting Halo 2 LASO. Best of luck to you!
