Today I take on the first of six Halo LASO campaigns in my journey towards the Halo Master Chief Collection's Hardest Achievement. As someone that hasn't played a LASO before, how hard is it actually? Well, as someone who went in without a guide... pretty hard lol.

Apparently the order of difficulty of the Halo LASOs are 2 - 1 - Reach - 4 - ODST - 3, so there are somehow still two more that were harder than this one lmao

I once went through nearly the entirety of Tip of the Spear with a Revenant. Best time of my life.

I'm determined to bring a vehicle as far as I can through the mission.
That part where Tanner realized that the achievement for assassinating to break your fall wasnt in the MCC is the same way I felt when i had finally done it after 267 tries (yes i kept count sue me).
Haha I did the exact same thing when MCC Reach came out so I had to give him the true Halo experience
@Snamwiches It was nice that he got the experience. Some of the salt that I feel is the fact that I didn't realize it wasn't there and kept trying thinking it had to be a specific elite. So some of those tries were actually resets to get a different armored elite 😅.
Welp, now I know to stop trying… :(

@@fpsgoku4207I feel like two betrayals is way worse. You have a sniper for the majority of T&R which makes it a lot easier.
Plus you specifically have to trigger every single spawn on two betrayals and can't just skip the level.

funniest achievement name that describes your channel "Why Do This To Your Self?"
LASO is pain and suffering, at a certain point you just let your invincible Spartan teammates just beat down the elites for you and then you just headshot them. This is what i had to resort to because the elites are pure torture.
Even on easy these split lips are frustrating including instakill face kicks and they just don't make it easy for you (they just keep dodging and have surprisingly good accuracy and bulk)
By far, you're my favorite challenge runner out there. No fake emotion, I can relate to all of it, and you're a good gamer
This video brought back so many memories for me! When Halo: Reach came out I was an active part of the Mythic community (Mythic is what we called LASO, with a couple additional rules). I took part in the race to be among the first in the world to beat the game solo with these settings, and managed to secure the 6th spot. Seeing you guys struggle to figure out the first few levels and adapting strategies from the chat really reminded me of that race, where each of us participating in the race would share the tips, tricks, and strategies we discovered along the way to progress through the game. Personally, I was able to figure out and contribute the timing and strategy to slip past the opening battle of the second level and get to the target designator, making clearing the enemies from the courtyard much, much easier.
Around when Halo Infinite came out, I started going through the LASO playlists in Halo MCC. I finished all of them except Reach (figured I'd save that one for last since it was the one I was most comfortable with) and now I'm feeling kind of inspired to go back and finish it off. Cheers!

I have the ‘Monument To All Your Sins’ achievement for beating campaign on legendary solo and that enough was hard as hell for me
I was never able to complete the game on legendary when it first came out so I tried it again this week.
I managed to do it with a lot of cheese. I didn’t even feel good about it afterwards, just stressed.
You both getting the Falcon as a miracle is pretty much Reach's version of Johnson arriving with the Scorpion tank during Halo 2.
and then it being all for nothing is like Jorge and the slip space drive...

The comparisons I'm seeing only 25 minutes in between this and the AH LASO of Reach is hilarious! That elite on the 3rd mission had front back! After getting a "checkpoint" we were filled with "confidence" - Checkpoint confidence!!
I love Halo legendary, especially Reach. Every new level bringing you more pain is suffering while knowing the basics what to do... I wish you the best as you continue the journey 🧡

When I did my SLASO runs, Reach and ODST weren't too bad, and with a guide CE and 3 weren't too much of a nightmare (aside from the Library and the Ark... never again). 4 and 2 destroyed me though, but they are possible. You got this, brother

Two things. If you play coop it adds extra enemies. The number of enemies doesn’t change between 2 to 4 people, so the more people the better.
Second, you couldn’t get into the pelican turret because it was destroyed by an explosion. You can stay in it if you are already in it, but if it explodes but can’t get into it.
Yep! Want to duo through it all though because it makes it a harder challenge and it gives me an excuse to collab with people I’ve wanted to forever. Also had no idea about the turret LMAO, good spot there!

Lmao. Was just going to suggest the post-it in the screen. You can also keep one person back to keep your checkpoints so you can keep respawning. Not sure if that works on laso. I would definitely go in with a friend (I did all this on legendary) however, for this.. plug in another charger to avoid restarting. Keep them at spawn

Halo Reach's LASO isn't the most unforgiving. Halo 2 LASO is. That is an absolute nighmare with all the snipers and angry brutes.
Man I am really looking forward to Halo 2 LASO. Toughest game in the series.
Damn dude. I did LASO master and the Halo: Reach and ODST LASO achievements last year, but I did all of them on co-op except for ODST. I always love to see other people give it a try.
Use middle of the screen shower, its an online webpage. After that mark the dot on your monitor with WATER based marker - NOT alcohol based. Water based marker can be just wiped away with a wet napkin and wont hurt the monitor. Now you can basically see where you are aiming.

I went and got all the achievements to the master chief collection about two years ago, and it was hell. Halo 1 LASO was a complete nightmare. Good luck.

@Snamwiches learning all the speed run strats saved me alot of sanity while doing this. Me and my buddy might actually do the Chinese version of the game just to say we did 700 achievements twice 🤣
@@Snamwiches If you can get thru Halo 1, the rest is not to bad. Halo 1's skulls are pure evil and the speedrun skips are difficult to pull off consistently. Truth and Reconciliation, The Library, and Two Betrayals are probably the hardest levels for LASO in all of the Halo series. While Halo 2 is worst to a lot of people, there are so many speed run skips you can do, that skip entire sections and even some that skip entire levels. Halo 3 has some tricky parts, buts its not to bad. ODST is easy. I beat it in one sitting. 4 is also really easy, other than the last level.
@@MiloHatesYouthe hardest part of Halo 2 is honestly just gravemind like f that level but the rest is surprisingly manageable although long as hell compared to other laso campaigns probably doesn't help it has the most missions.
Halo 1 I would say Maw was hard for stupid reasons part of that being the driving section.
Library was surprisingly easy compared to T&R, Maw and Two Betrayals
Snam is my favorite achievement hunter to watch other than GawdlikeMatt

I'm a huge Halo fan and played all Laso campaigns twice, honestly it was super fun and made each cutscene more enjoyable to watch 'cause you take the Covenant threat more seriously. It was awesome.
My personal opinion on hardest to easiest campaigns would be
Halo 2 - Halo CE - Halo 4 - Halo Reach - Halo 3 - Halo 3 ODST
Top 3 hardest missions would probably be
Halo 2 - Gravemind
Halo 2 - Regret
Halo CE - Truth and reconciliation

Me and my mom did this when it first came out. It was a fun 3 weeks; of about a mission a day for about 2 hours.

About a week ago, I started playing the LASO playlists on MCC with a buddy and we’d also gotten locked at a checkpoint. It had just auto saved the checkpoint like half a second before he’d hit the death barrier for falling out of bounds. It kept reloading the checkpoint and he’d kept dying for like 8 or so times before it rewound and loaded the next oldest checkpoint
I could play the halo series over and over again for the rest of time lol

I made it to long night of Solice without dying LASO, but the ship portion was absolutely terrible...

For me just on Legendary, Long Night of Solace was the most aggravating experience in the game. I don't ever want to subject myself to LASO.
MCC messed up the AI so they pretty much got aimbot. Playing that level on legendary was the first time I ever raged in a Halo game

if it makes you feel a bit better, my friend and I completed halo CE laso only to realize we beat it on THE WRONG PLAYLIST which doesn't count towards completing all of the games on laso.. so we had to do it again on the correct playlist

49:19 Out of all the background music I've heard in your videos I didnt expect to hear the PS3 Twisted Metal theme. Had to pause and make sure I was hearing that right.
the largest draw back in regards to the black eye skull is how open Reach's campaign maps are. CQB encounters in previous titles allowed you to just wait around corners and pop a grunt in the face, not on Reach though.
Seeing only 2 people do this without a guide is hilarious. Especially because the first laso attempt i watched was from 4 guys, not 2. So you can only imagine my awe watching this. 22:31 thats what me and the boys call Front back.

The 7th mission Snam only beat Tanner by 1 death. This was also the mission Snam killed Tanner for content.

LASO achievments are pretty much the only achievements I need on MCC after all these years. Started CE LASO playlist, got to that awful room after the grav lift on truth and reconciliation, got married, had a child, had a second child, bought a house... LASO beat me so hard I had to take a break to do real life

Getting the "if they came to hear me beg" achievement took me so many attempts back in the 360 days but it felt so rewarding too. Shame they took it out
Ah, Laso on Reach, where me and my friends found or used a lot of glitches to bypass most of the enemies, especially the elites. Forklifts are OP!
TIL: if you enable every skull but "Blind" you get the lore accurate Spartan 3 experience

Just finished Reach LASO over the weekend. I forgot my old cheese I did for the original reach (for weekly challenge) for the last zealots and field marshal on pillar of autumn. Those guys ran my pockets

It probably doesn’t help that in Halo reach and other older halos the crosshair is not exactly in the middle of the screen it’s actually a little further down from the middle 😂
although in the settings i think you can change it to centered crosshair

Me and my friend did this the hard way no skips and reach was also our first laso campaign you encouraged me to get him to join me in doing the others

I remember the hardest thing for me on Reach was getting the achievement and armor for doing the hoard survival game with certain settings on. Every time we came close, something would happen, whether it was the internet cutting or enemies glitching.
It was a hard fought battle, but you reached out and claimed victory. Big proud.
On screen cross hair would be so nice. Like the ones built into the monitor. I've seen people use dry erase markers. Put a little dot right in the middle.
I recently found out that difficulty of the space mission in Long Night of Solace is scaled to the FPS.
Just wait until he does the Halo 2 LASO, Reach is a cakewalk compared to that
