Hey fellow noob-fans, if you haven’t watched it already (or even if you have), you might like my first video, of noobs meeting the flood (in 343GS) for the first time: ruclips.net/video/pNIXoV-0_5U/видео.html. Also, check out the channels of all your favourite noobs - links in the description!
As an OG Halo fan, this video format is very entertaining to watch. Nostalgic, even. I suspect you'll blow up pretty soon
I agree one hundred percent. Also need the next episode these guys reactions are gold lol
How about noobs reaction to the purpose of halo(aka killing the floods food)
Continue onwards with Two Betrayals for these noobs please!

Ah, yes. The moment we’ve all been waiting for. Halo CE's mental stability test.
Edit: I love how they all immediately start to hate Guilty Spark.
Hahaha true
I hope you like it!
Haha, all except Daynen who still thinks he’s a nice guy at the start of Two Betrayals!
I hated guilty sparks ever since I've seen him XD XD
I remember screaming with my back against a wall the whole level!!!! Those were the days
I have the highest appreciation for the guy who turned on anniversary graphics, said “Hate it”, and instantly switched back to classic-
Library looks ok on anniversary graphics tho. Classic graphs will always be the best thr most nostalgic. I remember being 4 yo and playing the game whit my dad and the flood scared the shit out of me ofc when i was 4 there was no anniversary i played on pc and the OG xbox
While Anniversary graphics are overall an improvement, there are some parts where it doesn't work, usually because it is brighter compared to the CE graphic.
For example, the second elevator in the 343 Guilty Spark level. In CE it worked because the walls were pitch dark so you could easily see the Covenant bloodstains all over them, and combined with the ever-infamous Flood theme, it was effective in creating a horror atmosphere.
With the Anniversary, the walls have become a bit too bright and blue, reducing the visibility of blood.
@@novaterra973 ye there are some good parts of the graphics but 343 guilty spark just nah like rooms are brighter and all but they did a good job adding green
@@blackeyyt_8667 The anniversary graphics are too bright and flashy, it diminishes the intended atmosphere of the flood levels.
@@sergioacevedo2254 The only flood level which i honestly prefer with new graphics it's the Maw, i like the aesthetic it has.
“The first of ten?!?!”
As an OG halo player, witnessing each player’s utter disbelief at that statement is hilarious and relatable beyond belief
yes it is too funny watching now.
My favorite part was the starting cutscene where it looks like its just 1 door away and your like great you brought me on a long winded tour on purpose Guilty Spark ...
@@whatthepick It is one door away. The problem is it's floating in mid-air and Guilty Spark apparently can't send the lift down without you on it.
@@ReddwarfIV It is basically a safety feature. 343 Guilty Spark can't get the Index on his own, he needs a Forerunner (or Reclaimer) with him to access it. This is to stop Guilty Spark and other Monitors from just firing the Halo array whenever they want, which obviously the Forerunners didn't want.
Moreover, he can't simply teleport a Forerunner or Reclaimer to the Index to access it. By making them walk through the Library they are clearly showing they understand what they are doing and are making the conscious decision to allow the firing of the Halo array... except there's 2 problems for us, the Player.
Firstly, Chief is wearing human-made power armour, which 343 Guilty Spark rates as just a Class 2 "combat skin" - while during the Forerunner-Flood War, even a civilian Forerunner would be expected to wear a Class 8 skin or higher in any dangerous area, with Class 12 for Forerunner warriors. So basically, by Forerunner standards, Master Chief is fighting the Flood wearing nothing but his underwear and a paintball gun.
Secondly, of course, is the fact that Chief has no idea what's going on and Spark doesn't think to tell him, because Spark just assumes he knows the Halo array is gonna nuke the galaxy.
17:32 “do I want a rocket launcher? I kind of have one in the form of a magnum”
Yes.
He understands the game
@@donatturi2339 yes

Halo 1s Magnum is OP as hell
You could destroy the Truth and Reconciliation with just a Magnum and a shotgun
Props to the guy shooting out the glass under the flood. That actually made me lol
That's Living Sun. His videos are fun to watch because he clearly has so much fun with it. He has a really great channel worth checking out.

Ah yes Halo, the game that out of the blue becomes a zombie horror survival game.
That's why it was so successful!
A sudden shift in a Players mood
It really was out of the blue too lol. ZERO lead up. Zero.
@@jaybird0312 oh there was lead up. The entire beginning of 343 Guilty Spark (the Mission) was framed like a Horror Movie creepy quiet Jungle, the Covenant is running from something that isn't you or the other Marines that have so far not been seen. The herd of Grunts and Jackals hiding near the exits, but no Elites. The increasing visual signs that some serious shit went down as you descend through the facility. The flashback video and then the big reveal. It may be out of left field after Assault on the Control Room, but saying there's no lead up implies the Flood just appears, like the level starts and immediately there's the Flood and that's not how it happened.
God its so good
"The ring is an anti-Flood weapon, which in the wrong hands is a world destroying weapons, right?"
Well... Even in the _right_ hands...
youre really not gonna like what the rings even if they were good reasons.
@@gagejohnathan9641 they really weren’t a good reason more like we’re against the wall and have nothing left
I haven't been up to date with Halo in awhile but basically the rings are like the ability to do the Big Bang all over again.
@@damoontroll2118 pretty much yeah
@@damoontroll2118 ahhhh not really? The rings destroy the nervous systems of sufficient Flood prey. The Librarian or maybe an artificial facsimile of the Librarian was tasked with ensuring the reseeding of the life destroyed by the rings. They only did this because the Flood was about to annihilate everything.
The collective looks of horror when Spark says "The first of 10" were magnificent. I think everyone who played Halo CE made that face at the exact same time.
And the worst part is, you kind of think "No... Surely they wouldn't really make it that long..."
But oh yes, they do.
Thankfully there aren't 10 doors in total. The "portals" also include the elevators. But yeah this level is still way too long.
@@SamsarasArt Actually there are! I went through recently and counted them, and there are exactly 10 doors like the one he calls a "portal" that you have to get past before you reach the Index.
However, fortunately, I think only 3 or 4 of them make you wait, while the others either open for you quickly or have access tunnels that you use to go underneath them, which makes the mission much less tedious than if you had to wait for Spark to open all 10 doors.
14:44 That happened in lore. Spark brought a regular, unaugmented marine, SSgt Marvin Mobuto, to give the Library a shot before finding the Chief. In the book that covers Halo CE, Chief finds what's left of him as he goes through the Library later. Turns out he made it pretty far in before being overwhelmed.
That marines deserves to be a Spartan no doubt. Making it that far solo is fucking legendary
To be fair I don't think the Flood were quite as numerous at the time.
@@duddude321 sorry but what do you mean?
@@joestar3335 the Flood were only recently set free at the time. Before Chief was selected the amount of Flood in the Library probably wasn't as great. At the time the Flood were still in the feral stage and focused on spreading out and adding bodies so it would have no reason to prioritize disabling Halo by taking/destroying its firing index meaning that the Flood we see there are just the horde looking for meat (little to none present) and space to spread. Marvin's body was too destroyed for the Flood to use and thus any knowledge of activating Halo's "defenses" wouldn't have fallen into the Flood's tentacles to be communicated as a major threat either. The Sentinels are of intermittent effectiveness as security suggesting limited numbers (otherwise the Library protecting a critically important component of the Halo would be swarming with them instead of Flood). Meanwhile the Flood is simply spreading and growing faster and faster as time goes. Therefore we can conclude that Marvin likely had more Sentinel support and less Flood to fight at the time, but by the time Chief got there less Sentinels were available (either diverted to fighting outbreaks throughout Halo or destroyed) and more Flood had moved into the area.
@@duddude321 well the outbreak was caused during the campaign on Installation 04, the Covenant released it, so it was in the earliest of the feral stage Captain Keyes' death was this installation's infestation's attempt at creating a gravemind. The Spartan IV project hadn't started until midway through Halo 2's timeline if my memory of hiddenXperia's lore dives serves, so this legendary marine sadly would never have gotten a chance to be a Spartan.
Edit: said 6 in Roman numerals when I meant 4

15:32 "Wait I feel like I've been here before . . . "
The Library in a nut shell
this entire game in a nutshell
20:40 I love to call that part the "dancing floor", because that's basically what you're doing. While you run you shoot, jump, throw grenades, reload, switch weapon, Melee, jump on top of combat forms, jump onto the columns, heal if necessary, pick weapon if necessary, fire some shells form shotgun, reload, fire a couple more, reload, another shell, reload and so on,.. all in a small area for like a minute nonstop.
That room might be the perfect distillation of Halo’s 30 seconds of fun as applied to fighting the flood. This is one of Griesemer’s levels after all.
I call it the pit of despair, because even the final wave, you can just grenade spam yolo past them and beeline it to the ending. But there you have to fight them, no other option.
@@bahlalthewatcher4790 I thought it was Tyson Green's level?
It's my favorite part of the level, I play just to get there. And then it's ON!

@@bencebuda4599 they use the launcher like it's a fucking sniper rifle
“I feel like I just ran a marathon” my guy you have yet to reach the first elevator
This is not the level that teaches you how to use grenades, this is the level that means you never take your eye off of the motion tracker ever again
Something great about the flood is that they force youto play aggressively but you must vary your movement and attack constantly to preserve ammo and not be overwhelmed by the group or by their heavy guns. Covenant and many other enemy in other games allow the player much more of a singular focus and time to cover and restrategise
Flood and Covenant are complete opposites in that regard. The Covenant have high accuracy and high damage output with their weapons, but are not particularly aggressive, encouraging the player to use cover and fight smart. The Flood, on the other hand, aren't accurate and don't even fire that fast, but are overly aggressive and come in large swarms, encouraging the player to just gun them down as quickly as possible, focusing on positioning yourself where you can kill them most efficiently instead of using cover.
Even if the Library was never intended to be the way it was and only happened because the original design was too ambitious, at the very least it does a great job of forcing the player to learn how to fight the Flood.
Ar=short controlled burst is the best strategy, I knew that instinctively when I was 13

Daynen and Neal's banter is fun (Gamers in the Attic is their channel).
The Library is so tedious even Bungie employees think it was too much. The suffering this dudes went through and the face of relieve when they get to the final it's really funny, but it's a shame some of them didn't get to experience it in the original graphics.
I don't think it's too much, it's my favorite mission in CE
@@bencebuda4599 I really like it, makes me feels like a marine in starcraft facing zerg rush, just continuous fightning.
i would say i was struggling to pass this mission when i was like 8 years old, not a real chalenge for regular players, those guys seems to not have played a real fps in a long time
That was my favorite. SPV3's version is also even more fun.
The length of The Library is a bit long for sure but it's to demonstrate a point and show you just how much a threat the flood are by themselves. The entire level you're pretty much always put on the defensive, constantly re-killing combat forms you've already put down once before. "The Flood" mission was to teach you to feel horror at this new foe and escape it "The Library" was to get you into the idea of fighting it.
My cousin and I played through Halo 1 LASO in the Master Chief collection. Truth and Reconciliation was like a 18 hour bloodbath, but the Library took us like 40 hours to beat even with the nade jump at the beginning. It is just SO LONG.
What a horrible memory that I forgot about till now. That game was definitely not made with skulls in mind, and it shows.
The brilliance of explaining how the ring is meant to kill everyone, but putting it in the middle of pure chaos so you don't have time to process it.
22:09
This is why halo CE is the best game to get non-gamers into a FPS. The game had the tutorial integrated into the game itself and now that i'm old i actually understand what parts of each mission forced you to learn certain skills without you noticing.

Little known fact. A marine was teleported before chief to the library and despite the odds made it really far. He would've been an amazing spartan because chief in the lore really did have a tough time
Marine would have had more support and less flood to deal with aswell.
@@frostguard1283 the marine didn't have any support, he was teleported alone with low ammo and had to resupply off the flood he killed. I think you can find his corpse in the game but i don't remember i do think somewhere its mentioned that chief does find his body in the library
@@THE_SOSC Sadly it's only in the book. There are no intact human bodies found in the actual game level, just random first aid kits and seemingly convenient weapon stashes (that are explained with nearby flood bodies, so they dropped those when sentinels presumably killed them offscreen.
@@SSgtJ0hns0n Actually, there are several marine corpses in the level. I distinctly remember wondering how a marine got so far. Though as I type this apparently this is contested. Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for watching!
"The ring is an anti-flood weapon that in the wrong hands is a world destroying weapon".
Well, more or less, the rings will destroy everything in anyone´s hands
Man, what a fun, creatively good idea of a video. I'm getting flashbacks and squirming at the creepies sneaking up on you. But I've also been laughing hysterically at these people freaking out. Thank you. I cannot stop laughing. Perfect editing. Everything these people say throughout the library... gold.
Ah yes
The library
Where kids become adults
The way you edited them together to make a joke was beautiful 🤣😂💯🔥
Do you mean 11:29? 😈
@@bahlalthewatcher4790 yes it was comedic gold I doed laughing
That made me laugh out loud, hahaha.
Hurts to see so many of these guys play the way I use to play this level, stay in a room and kill the endless waves instead of advancing.
everyone: "oh shit they explode"
also everyone: *runs head first into them to shoot them*
*Wait, it gets worse!*
"Yay!"
That's right. Embrace the suffering.
Player: ya this is best described as a horde.
Me: Or maybe.....a flood?
Hang on a second…
I've watched numerous players struggle through this level, and I can't believe none of them figured out that you can alleviate a lot of the overwhelming odds by jumping up on the buttresses. It doesn't _stop_ the flood, but a lot of the time, it keeps them from coming at you all at once.
I have yet to see any player use that in a video.
They may not know some of these guys seemed to have never played the original halo
This level teaches you three things.
1. Trust the motion sensor.
2. Do not trust the motion sensor.
3. Guilty Spark is not your friend.
This was the game that made me a gamer for life. I keep forgetting that halo is 20 years old, and there are some people who have never played it
EDIT: 2:30 I forgot about how you play the last half of halo basically running backwards as you shoot
True lol
Bro you are criminally underrated, this editing is god-tier!! I am praying for your success, this is a truly high-level reaction complication. I know this content is kinda niche but you seriously deserve 25-50k subscribers, *at the very least*. Keep up the amazing work!!
Thank you so much! I don’t really care about getting subs. Because none of this is my content (well, except the intro and outro music, ie all of 20 seconds), it falls outside RUclips’s monetisation rules and I also have a full time job. I wanted to make the first one because I was disappointed it didn’t already exist, and I made this one after peer pressure and as a personal challenge. That is, I have no plans to make any more videos.
Thanks very much for the kind words, and I’m glad you enjoyed the videos so much 😀
@@bahlalthewatcher4790 That's a fair take. These videos will no doubt get hundreds of thousands of views, and that's crazy considering you have no real desire for monetization. To me that just shows you're extremely talented.
Edit: Just realized the first video is approaching 1 mil views. Christ, dude
@@draconequus2164 thanks for your very kind words!
@@bahlalthewatcher4790 dude nobody is talking about the “I’ll sip hot coffee” “disgusting” “delicious” moment and I just wanted to personally appreciate your editing there haha

"Those guys are definitely gonna turn on me at some point"😅😂
Haha, nicely edited with the coffee drinking!
Two Betrayals on Legendary difficulty, now that brings back some good ol PTSD
Library for me was actually not bad on Legendary, but the Final Run on two betrayals is a nightmare
Finally discovered that in the room 343 locks you in - in between the alcoves that the flood keeping popping out of, the little pillars to the sides of that center section have health kits hiding behind them. Made that room 1000x easier.
There is only one thing the flood fear....
The Shotgun....
This was great! Wish for another part.
15:32 library in a nutshell
Remember spartans, the library is NOT L4D but in halo. If you take your time to kill all the flood then they’ll stop spawning
well it is kind of hard to tell let alone know, but after that clicks the level plays a bit smoother (still die alot though)
Or you can run through them, and hide when needed
It's kind of easy but absolutely tedious for us people who like to wipe out everything that isn't friendly in any level in any game
There are a few moments in CE that I'm pretty sure have infinite flood spawners.
@@hollowhoagie6441 They’re not in the library, so you can shoot your way out. You can mix things up in Halo 3
I came straight here after watching your other video. Fantastic! Please keep going with the series =D
Thanks for your kind words!
These two videos really made me smile. Honestly, I'd watch the whole game in this format

how dare he, though most of what he said was small brain anyways
Nay, it was heresy!
The downvote is from the Monitor.
Expecting to see more uploads, these are pretty entertaining.
