    I just bought the ScanNCut machine and spent 4 hours going through only part of the manual. I got a lot more information and understanding of how to do things from your video than I did from the manual. I want to view more of your videos. Do we join or subscribe to AllBrands to do that? You are very clear in your instructions and I so appreciate seeing you actually do it.

    I subscribed to your channel. I’m a newbie and after watching your videos I was brave enough to give it a try and cut some fabric pieces. I look forward to learning more. There’s so much info out there, it can be overwhelming. Glad I have a go to. Ty!

    Hi from Australia. When is best to draw the 1/4” seam allowance. Before cutting or after cutting. How do I know when my rotary blade is getting blunt.

    • @ms.maureen2925
      @ms.maureen2925 Год назад +1

      Susan, I always draw my seam allowances before I cut my fabric. I would replace my blade when you are no longer getting good cuts. But I use mine a lot and it is still very sharp! Hope this helps.

    • @allbrands1976
      @allbrands1976  Год назад

      Before. You will notice if you have to continuously cut twice to go through all the fabric that the rotary blade needs to be replaced. They last a lot longer than you'd think. Hope that helps!

    Great refresher video for me. I will be working with fabric soon. I use Terial magic for years myself. I am glad to see more snc videos with it being used on fabric. Another good product to use if you want your own design or picture on something is inject printable iron on fabric sheets. I used it with a picture of one of my collectable teacups, as I am making special fabric containers for the teacups. I put a picture of the teacup on the fabric container. Much like an applique. Very easy to do.
    Enjoyed your video and will be watching. Thanks for sharing.

    Love your demo, than you. I haven't bought a machine yet. Can you please tell me, are you restricted to the patterns loaded on the machine or can I connect to the internet for more designs. Can I also draw my own designs?

    • @allbrands1976

      You can print images and scan them in, you can download them on the web and transfer by USB stick or wirelessly, you can draw your own designs in canvas workspace, and so much more. The amount of designs you can use are virtually limitless.

    I put the paper side down with the heat n bond, HUGE MISTAKE! I cut out the anchor, the fabric came off but the paper anchor stuck to my mat and wouldn’t come off. 😢 I had to dig and scrape tiny bits off with my fingernail. Won’t ever do that again! 😅

    You used the rotary blade on fabric then you used that same rotary blade with the paper backing? Is that really a good idea since we cut fabric with designated fabric blade/scissors and paper with a designated paper blade/scissors? You can’t re-sharpen that rotary blade, right?

    • @allbrands1976
      @allbrands1976  Год назад +1

      Hi Tanya. Even when cutting fabric with the paper backing the blades last a really long time. Since a lot of those paper backings are pretty thin it doesn't wear the blade that bad. If you were going to do a lot of appliques then it might be best to have a separate rotary blade just for cutting the fabric treated with paper backing. -Courtney

    Just purchased the Brother Scan n Cut for cutting fabric. Frustrated because I couldn't get it to cut fabric so I found this video. It came with a regular mat and universal blade. I will now order the fabric mat and a fabric blade. I love the idea of the rotary blade you mentioned however, I can't find it. The Fabric Blade on the Brother website was sold out so I found it on Amazon but neither places have the roller blade you mention.

    I have the SDX 125e. I want to cut specific images out of fabric. Much the way I can cut images out of scrapbooking paper. For example - I want to cut a variety of Nutcrackers from a piece of fabric that has multiple Nutcracker images on it. If I cut a piece with one image on it, back it with Wonder Under and then use the fabric mat and rotary blade will it cut just around the image? Hope this makes sense. 😀
