Honestly, other than the slight color issue, the picture quality looks better to me with the V1. It looks sharper, especially during the last comparison.
Id love to see a comparison of some dark scenes using the different hdmi options. I got a the cheap one from ebay, and on Evil Twin: cyprians chronicles I literally couldn't see anything in the dark scenes. I suspect they may all use the same or similar internals that all crush dark colours to black.
This is the same crap as the others. Don't waste your money on these kind of dongles. Buy a decent product, such as the GBS-Control or the later Retrotink series, which are developed with 480i consoles in mind.
Ordered the ps2 to HDMI. Should be here today. Not sure if it's v1 or v2. Anything has, got to be an improvement over RCA. Ive got a 3yr.old SamSung 55"QLED. I'll post what it looks like later. 👍♥️
To be honest Mayflash has a pretty decent reputation amd the wii2hdmi is a solid option from them. For anybody biting there nails on choices, you know the mayflash WILL work. In this specific case not perfect.. but still stands up pretty well.
What can you tell me about the contrast? I had the v1 of this adapter, but the colors were too dark and tending almost green. In the end I opted for the component cable with converter but in many games the signs of interlacing make the images too “serrated”. I'm not picky, I'm just looking for the right compromise between quality and price. So how does this Mayflash adapter behave with the darkest games? Or is the Bitfunx better? Thank you
Does anyone know why I'm still having bad screen wash, I've got a hdmi dongle and connected to a 2k gaming monitor but the picture quality still doesn't seem that good??
Have you tried the switchable PS2 Component / RGB to HDMI dongle versions by Bitfunx/ Kaico? I'm interested in it's RGB image conversion for PS1 thru either a PS1 or PS2, that would be interesting to see.✌️
im using the no-name ps2 to hdmi and while its much better than the original av out its still kind of bad, the lines in the game have that 'saw-tooth'' effect instead of being clean smooth lines, the image is just not very great, and any shadowy areas or darkness gets TOO dark and you cant even see anything, it becomes just a black patch on the screen and you can barely make out any details, i ordered a component cable in the mail and hoping to test it soon
Having just bought a PS2 39001. Will this work on that? I've got component cables and a 24-in Sony Trinitron CRT TV but also a 65-in flat screen 4K. Should I use the PS2 on the CRT with component or try it on the 4K with this HDMI device? Which do you feel would look better?
So, why did you call it the 'supreme quality solution' if it's not that good? Maybe you could find us a 'supreme quality solution' for PS2 next time. I've noticed the ones for Gamecube seem to be a lot better in quality :)
It's a port (left) and starboard (right) side! When on a boat with tiller (rudder or outboard engine), port is right, starboard is left. Is that clear?!😉 I cannot see the difference between HD V2 vs. Mayflash. AV composite isn't even a solution. Only if TV set doesn't have any better. There is worse than AV. Aerial input. My West German (cold war era, naturally) 21" Sharp didn't even had a AV composite🤢

call me old school but the PS2 Component cable to a Component input on a modern TV looks great, PS1 is another story
Honestly it’s good that they put the usb in left side which allows it to keep your ps2 mounted vertically without the usb getting squished
Keep up the great work 😎

the only way to compare if a dongle is good or bad is in dark games with caves

I was thinking about getting this.....thanks wicked for the the review
Hello sir. If you clean the PS2 to HDMI port with a Q-tip it will help.

Unfortunately the PS2 had the awful 480i output as standard, thankfully a lot of games allow the use of progressive options.
I don't know if I missed it but can you use it to play PlayStation 1 games?
You don’t have to switch your ps2 settings to rgb with the Maydlflash converter, unlike most of the others.
Does anyone know why I'm still having bad screen wash, I've got a hdmi dongle and connected to a 2k gaming monitor but the picture quality still doesn't seem that good??
So just want to check. Is mayflash better than getting a component cable conveter to HDMI?

They’ll look about the same but the crt will have no input lag, basically
the crt will have a very clean image, but its more fun to play on a big ass 65 inch tv
Mayflash is worst than the other dongles, text are way blurry and hardly to read
Bitfunx Ps2 to Hdmi for win!
What's a good hdmi solution for ps1 from aliexpress 🤘🏻
Hello, this PS2 to HDMI from Mayflash is it the best HDMI Adapter for you ?
Thank you, for your answer, have a nice day.

mayflash has a lot of great devices for sure
