    I bought a TON of that yarn. I have a 19mm hook plus got one the size of yarn directions (a size 25mm) for jumbo yarn. I am so scared to try this yarn but hey only live once. Practice practice I guess. It is hard to pull through. Yours looks like a big clound to jump in. Thanks for the video. I want to see the finished blanket. Great job. Love it!!!

      Yes it was quiet a task to work with but it was so thick!

      Would you reccommend the 25mm hook or did another size work better for doing a blanket? i'm trying to do one right now with a 25mm, because its what the directions suggested, but didn't know if i should go get a smaller one! i'm fairly new to crochet

    I ordered this yarn and had it delivered (I fell & broke my knee cap)…anyway, using a 25 mm hook even- I got so fed up w/it! I put it away to try again at a later date. I just got really frustrated w/it.
    Good work! 😊
    I’m addicted to yarn buying too.

      I am sorry I hope you get better soon. You can also try crochet it with your fingers. Or a bigger hook. Best wishes and prayers sending your way.

      @@Emilycrochet hi. I’m doing better, thank you. It was a dumb move on my part.
      I’ll try again w/the 25 mm hook. I’m not into finger crochet personally. I’m sure it’s fine- just not for me. I think I was already frustrated w/not being able to walk and the yarn just compounded the situation. 😊

      @@TheKatherine1958 I total get that. I was in my chair a year- long Covid - had to sleep sitting up. It makes everything tough being I'll and not doing regular things.

      @@Emilycrochet well, my new friend 😊 thanks to you and your video tutorial, I am now n the 3rd row of my humongous yarn-again! Lol. I’m using a baby pink, dusty rose, & a lovely gray color. (Those are what I had sent). I think I was trying to make my original afghan too complicated of a pattern for the yarn. This is working well and working up pretty quickly. I’m not sure I’d purchase this yarn again but now I’m not feeling so guilty for spending so much on a yarn I couldn’t (wouldn’t) work with. So I owe you a great big thank you! 🤗
      I’m so sorry you had Covid! How awful for you. I’m glad you’re doing better now and that it’s behind you. I wouldn’t wish that on my worst enemy if I had one.
      Take good care and thank you again so much!

      @@TheKatherine1958 So happy. Nothing better than creating! And enjoying the creation. I daughter is working on a beautiful blanket, she is almost done and she hates the stitch! Complains- but it is beautiful! Lol

    This is wonderful. I've just purchased some gold black to make a charlie brown shirt replica blanket for my son. Can you give me a rough estimate of the size of your final blanket and how many skies it took?

    • @Emilycrochet
      @Emilycrochet  2 года назад +2

      Yes each color is one skein, my blanket is about seven inches tall alittle over two inches per color. And wide is about 4feet. It works up fast. You could use a bigger needle also.
      Hope you enjoy your yarn. This is so thick.
      Have a good day, Emily

      Thank you I brought a bunch of this and have I believe 8 so should give a good size. Oh also I had next size and still a pain but waiting on the size T to use since I think the finger loops are to lose. My boys said I’m not allowed to say it anymore but dare I 😂 I always choke the chicken as my grandmother told me. So I strangle my yarn and pull to tight when crocheting.

    I see a lot of different crochet stitches. What type of stitch is this?

    • @Emilycrochet
      @Emilycrochet  Год назад

      Hello, this is done with the moss stitch. Next time I will use a larger hook.
      Have a great day

    I noticed in both your tutorials with big blanket yarn, you didn't go over the color change....I don't it difficult to treat it the same way as smaller yarn.

    Can this be done with a dc? If so what would be the pattern?

    • @Emilycrochet
      @Emilycrochet  Год назад

      Hello yes it could be. I would use a larger hook to make it easier. I would chain three at each end and double in second stitch after turning.
      This works up so fast.

    While you can use a crochet needle this yarn is excellent for finger crocheting as well.

    Will someone please type the directions in the comments section? I am having a hard time following with only the spoken directions.

    • @Emilycrochet
      @Emilycrochet  Год назад +1

      I make a chain. Turn go into second stitch.
      The pattern is one single crochet - chain one and skip a stitch. Do this all the way to end. Chain one and turn. You will do one single crochet into the previous row chain one. You will chain one and go into previous round chain one. This is the repeat pattern.
      I hope this helps.

    • @christinabutler132
      @christinabutler132 Год назад

      Thank you. So how many stitches going across each row? I keep ending up with a not-so-straight edge. It’s hard to see where the last stitch is with this bulky yarn!

    • @Emilycrochet
      @Emilycrochet  Год назад

      Best to use a stitch marker. Put into your chain one an make sure you use as last stitch

    • @christinabutler132
      @christinabutler132 Год назад

      OK. Got it. Just as an extra help, is it 40 stitches across each time?

    • @Emilycrochet
      @Emilycrochet  Год назад

      It will be however many you choose to start with.
