Everything J Cole touches is solid gold. He is a staple in the culture, and a trend setter. Always ahead of the wave and the curve. And a fellow North Carolinian, proud of his roots and humble beginnings.

I remember in 07 when I first heard Lights Please off of Limewire which led me to the Warm Up and from then on I have never listened to an artist that can rap (particularly his early years) and the raps truly emulate the listeners life and that’s what Cole does for me. This man’s albums got me through breakups when I was done so dirty and listening to his music and him saying things that I felt in those moments got me through depression and even a suicidal thought. This is why he’s #1 to me, Drake is an amazing artists and obviously the best of the past decade and a half and Kdott I never could vibe with. I love these 3 artists because if you ask 3 different people you’ll get 3 different answers on what each means to them. Truly 3 kings.

No BS, no trying to make radio, none of that just spitting. Hes almost always been that way and thats why hes my personal favorite of the 3. As of today, Cole is the best rapper alive. He hasn’t took his foot off the gas. Off-Season is arguably the best album that dropped last year. He dropped a super dope posse album with his label and other random artists. And he also dropped a very dope album with KOD in 2018. He hasn’t stopped. Meanwhile Kendrick can take a 50 year break and still be mentioned.. Drake can drop a mediocre album and still be mentioned.. stop w the disrespect
You just proved why kendrick lamar always will take the number 1 spot in these debates and lists because his work is so great that we still replaying it his old projects still holding strong until he releases again and thats saying something because not too many artists singers and rappers can do that especially rappers

I’m a fan of all 3, but is just something about cole flow that the other two ain’t got , like I see everything he be saying, and the feeling I get too.
Numbers are numbers and jcole knows that. He’s focused on putting out the best music he possibly can. The moment you’re soley focused on numbers the music suffers. In an era where rappers are overhyped Jcole is a true artist and it’s backed up by his work. No one will forget his name 20 years from now and that’s a fact.
This video alone tells me this world is so FUCKKKKKKED up. It is clear that this man spirit is so far ahead of the people you are comparing him to, that he knows that he is better, but humble himself because he is mindful of the game that is being played and knows he not only wants to play that game but recognizes the damage that comes from playing that game. So in reality he is far more superior then what is actually being portrayed.
Cole is amazing. Dot is just different to me. Section 80, GKMC, TPAB are all genre defining albums. May be the greatest 3 album run of all time. I don’t think Cole has one album better than any one of those 3. Just my opinion
If Drake doesn’t write his own bars, why is he in this top 3 conversation? I don’t get these standards. Diddy, Dre, or Will Smith wasn’t making any rap top 5 with Nas n Jay cuz they didn’t write their own bars. That’s automatic disqualification. If anything Cole should at least be higher than Drake by default because he writes his own lyrics.
The vast majority of Drake’s music is too personal and clearly written by him. Drake took some songs from a guy and credited him as a writer so the guy could get paid for it. This whole “ghostwriter” thing has been debunked several times, y’all just don’t like the dude. And that’s fine, but just say that 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Also, you can get writer’s credits for suggesting a line or an ad lib. Check the credits for your favorite rappers and I guarantee you’ll see other niggas’ names there for “songwriting”😴

I think through his change in his feature philosophy and working with artists, he slowly began to stop putting so much focus on being a competitive rapper solely especially with Kendrick Lamar which is why I think The Off-Season was the album it was. Not a concept nor a record that attempted to catch the ear of fans through catchy tunes; just a masterclass of lyricism that made J Cole proud and only his fans proud. I'm happy J Cole isn't trying to catch Kendrick or Drake, cause simply he isn't neither of them nor should be. He's the everyman or rap.....

Drake is the Phenom.
Kendrick is the Enigma.

Nice I like this
Very well said
Drake had a ghostwriter on several songs and albums he's handsdown the bronze
Perfect.
I’ve always love the debate of top 3 but Cole wins this hands down. He’s the only producer of the three (which is ALWAYS overlooked) and he actually holds his own as a label owner with arguably the most talented roster currently in Hip-Hop. I’m sorry, Cole really 4 tha culture. He’s da 🐐🔥
Major facts!!
he’s produced close to 75% of his catalogue.
It can go any of the 3 ways
No TDE. Is better
@@t-god2439 no it isn't, they sabotage their artists, look at SZA
J.cole to me vocalizes and symbolizes the simple, good life, nothing too much. just good. and I think it speaks to a lot of people
This is why J Cole is my favourite rapper and Drake is my favourite artist. Love Kendrick's music too. All generational talents in Hip-pop
Much love to what they've each added to Hip-pop. It really wouldn't be as exciting without them.
Everything J Cole touches is solid gold. He is a staple in the culture, and a trend setter. Always ahead of the wave and the curve. And a fellow North Carolinian, proud of his roots and humble beginnings.
J cole has changed Lots in his career , he went from wanting to being the greatest and claiming him self to be in 2014 forest hills drive , to realizing that all that shit really don’t matter it’s about the fans and the love in the music to spread positivity , all three are great artists with different attributes and they own style and j cole embraces that and doesn’t really care for all that “GOAT” talk , j cole one Of the best and doesn’t have to say he’s the best, thats what makes him great
Cole be the secret weapon just like wayne on the features. Amazing at delivering and structuring flows.
I heard of Cole in 2009, I think that head drake dropped best I ever had and it was one of the best summers of my teens.
J coles humility is rare quality that should be treasured especially as a rapper
I love cole, not even because of his skills, I acknowledge them but I don’t even listen like that. He’s still my fav artist tho but because of his approach to life outside the booth.
Cole is the Klay Thompson of Hip-Hop. Not the biggest numbers, quiet, humble, different, and you know what he brings to the table.
I would say he’s more like Giannis..

Not the biggest numbers???
Cole clarifies his stance on the same track by saying " The tales official, the best ni**a breathin', it just failed to hit you". How is that accepting bronze, he is just acknowledging the difference in discourse among the media and respecting other opinions
it failed to hit the dude making the video lol

Cole's albums always #1 and platinum. He's by far the smartest. He has his own record label with artists who are thriving or at least recognizable for instance. Cole is thinking long-term...

I think at this point we get too caught up in rankings. there will never be a consensus list. im just happy I grew up in the 2010s to watch these guys cement their legend in a new era.
Cole came a long way I mean from the come up to born sinner era u could hear he wanted to be like every rapper but his craft matured so from 4 your eyez only to the off season this era shows how he became in love with making timeless music, music we can play today and still feel like it came out yesterday the man legit has crated his own nitch
J Cole rlly is one of the greatest rappers to touch a mic. man he’s got an absolutely insane discography and incredible lyricism. i have the upmost respect for him, appreciate his music and he’s just so fucking talented. i wish more ppl would see that.
Kendrick has the god flow, some shit we’ve never seen or heard. Drake makes great songs period! .. When it comes to Cole NOBODY RAPS BETTER THAN COLE, He paints pictures with his words and has never missed
i’m honestly really glad to see people say good things about him and see other rappers respect him because mfs always wait til someone dies to praise them for what they did while living
Cole on his Johnny P's Caddy recent feature:
"On God, The Best Rapper Alive
Headshot, now go and ask the best rappers that died they tell you he never lied."
We should celebrate all 3 of these legends of this generation. I personally relate to Jermaine the most out of the 3.
Always loved Cole. It's a damn shame how massively underrated Cole is from a notoriety stand point
Because he’s boring
Cole I think is an example of where being the best in public opinion doesn’t drive him. I can relate because I don’t wanna be known as the best but a master of my craft through and through. I don’t have to be the GOAT, I’m fine with being elite. I think bravado is great to have but I feel like even the “diss tracks” that Cole dropped are like lessons and conversations on a person’s missteps rather than tearing down the other side. J Cole is a gem, and shouldn’t be under appreciated
Great content as always , Keep them coming
I always said, “ Kendrick for my mind and Cole for my Soul”. I love Kendrick and Cole. I really don’t fuck with Drake… he is commercial there is a machine that push his success he has ghost writers… he is manufactured…. He a modern Easy E.. His music don’t speak into me. But I’m happy he successful.
Great vid. Having the chance to see these guys grow has truly been amazing
Honestly I’m in the right generation. Jermaine is one of the biggest reason. He’s one of the few artists, that i can listen especially bcz of content. He has so much succeeded yet so humble & intelligent. Like Kevin Hart said that Kdot & Cole they doesn’t highlight themselves success bcz they don’t want to be highlighted even with their biggest success. I like Drake tho don’t get me wrong he’s great especially in late 00s-mid 10s. NWTS is my fav Drake album ever. But Cole & Kendrick giving so much authenticity that motivates me to be better everyday with God’s grace through their music.
Cole a Legend 🐐
I actually think this is a step in the right direction for Hip Hop

Dude last 2 albums weren’t good tho
The fact Cole & Kendrick had never discredited Drake apart being part of the 3 just shows ppl really just don’t want drake part of the 3 .. Regardless if he wrote or not .. which is why I will continue to put drake as part of the 3

Y’all should check out his new verse in Benny the butchers song . I feel like Cole touches on this topic .
What AK said kind of shows the reason why cole is so great. Hes not with all the braggadocio or arrogance he just wants to rap and make music for his people to enjoy. No BS, no trying to make radio, none of that just spitting. Hes almost always been that way and thats why hes my personal favorite of the 3. I love drake and Kendrick but cole is just so damn relatable to me.

Bro cole didn't even mention he had features on the off season, shows you that he doesn't really care about the numbers, and he doesn't need features to promote his music
J Cole is one of the greatest rappers fr
When cole can make a series of the heart he’ll be even with dot. But the heart series is some of the best lyrical work I’ve heard.
he did it is the young simba series
Forest Hill Drive, 4 Your Eyez only and Born Sinner are whole classic projects. I can't name a whole 3 from the other 2 big Kats

Cole is amazing. Dot is just different to me. Section 80, GKMC, TPAB are all genre defining albums. May be the greatest 3 album run of all time. I don’t think Cole has one album better than any one of those 3. Just my opinion
I disagree but I respect your opinion. They act like 2 legends cannot coexist!
Cole doesn’t have an album better than gkmc and tpab but fhd, 4yeo and born sinner are better than s80 and DAMN.
Off season > Kendrick new album
He’s number 2 behind Kendrick when in comes to the biggest names in the mainstream
If Drake doesn’t write his own bars, why is he in this top 3 conversation? I don’t get these standards. Diddy, Dre, or Will Smith wasn’t making any rap top 5 with Nas n Jay cuz they didn’t write their own bars. That’s automatic disqualification. If anything Cole should at least be higher than Drake by default because he writes his own lyrics.
d riding drake been the trend for ages still love drizzy tho
He's top 3 because he blows everyone out of the water with sales by a long shot
It’s about Impact not lyrical ability
@@hermanosfernandez1537 Never speak on hip hop again
The vast majority of Drake’s music is too personal and clearly written by him. Drake took some songs from a guy and credited him as a writer so the guy could get paid for it.
This whole “ghostwriter” thing has been debunked several times, y’all just don’t like the dude. And that’s fine, but just say that 🤣🤣🤣🤣

J.cole is the most humble person period 😌
I think through his change in his feature philosophy and working with artists, he slowly began to stop putting so much focus on being a competitive rapper solely especially with Kendrick Lamar which is why I think The Off-Season was the album it was. Not a concept nor a record that attempted to catch the ear of fans through catchy tunes; just a masterclass of lyricism that made J Cole proud and only his fans proud. I'm happy J Cole isn't trying to catch Kendrick or Drake, cause simply he isn't neither of them nor should be. He's the everyman or rap.....
J Cole is number one among the three.
IS Cole the bronze bomber? Will kendrick diss Drake? Find out on the next episode of Dragon Ball Z
J Cole is 2nd to me behind Drake. My favorite rappers need to actually rap and be in the rap game. Cole's feature run lately has been incredible. Drake and Cole are active. I'm not giving Kendrick that spot when he hasn't dropped in nearly 5 years
He's the best rapper ever ,PERIOD!!!!. His songs are inspiring, life changing and awesome. He don't need to say he's the best. He doesn't needs to explain it, his fans will do it. COLE WORLD🌍🌍
His songs have a longer lasting effect. I can always go back to them.
i know it said it in the video but j cole had many albums go platinum without any help by features, and cole also produces a lot too.
Yeah when I heard the cole freestyle I kinda understand him even though I never gave him the bronze he got silver and thats only because I think Kendrick is great at everything but people in these comments and on these music media judging on silly things but it doesn't have to be complicated its results resume and skills lyrically yeah impact on people matters but not really because that's a personal feeling that differ from person to person so obviously Kendrick takes it lyrically because he's just amazing and consistent on everything but Cole is not too far behind also Kendrick has them both in consistent results he haven't missed on a project yet I mean even his scraps from TPAB were great thats crazy but again while Drake might have to numbers in music numbers are irrelevant nowadays with social media helping artists and the streaming its about quality and Cole comes in 2 behind Kendrick again to me its always been about Cole and Kendrick in this generation because they are far better Lyricist than Drake and has better quality than Drake yeah he has the hits and numbers but that's why he's 3 because he brings something that really doesn't matter today Cole is great and always has been the only reason he's not 1 is because of Kendrick but those 2 are still carrying the generation today im still waiting for that joint project like all of us lol.
