I found Vlad's interview with Suga Free really frustrating. For about 10 minutes at the end they actually talked about music and Suga Free got extremely animated and you really got a sense for how much he loves the genre. Was frustrating because it could've been a great interview if Vlad hadn't spent the other 90 minutes asking Suga Free about pimping, which mostly caused him to act subdued and evasive. *sigh*
But that's what people want to hear about. I'm so confused, VladTV has been the same as long as I've known about it. Dude asks the questions nobody wants to talk about; he literally wouldn't be where he is if he was just another typical interviewer asking about the music lmao. Nah he asking about the pimping, the drug dealing, and the killing that ALL THESE DUDES BRAG ABOUT EVERYDAY AND IN THEIR MUSIC. He's asking what tons and tons of fans want to know about. Who the fuck cares if some dudes are salty cuz vlad making money by talking about their beef 😂 that's so fucking stupid lmao don't have beef and nobody will talk about it or make money on it
I agree tho that it doesn't always make for a friendly conversation and it doesn't always result in a good segment where your favorite artist really goes in about their passion for the art.... but bro, there's plenty of interviews like that for any artist. I only grew to love that album when I was experienced enough to relate to the content. So I understand why people may not like that album. Be that as it may I believe it to be a classic.
Yo, but VladTV isn’t the only hip-hop journalism RUclips channel that interviews artists and discuss street sh*t. There are plenty of examples - ZackTV (RIP), SayCheese TV, DJ Smallz Eyez (who asks WAAAAYYYY more about street sh*t than Vlad does - just watch his King Von interview), MelzTV, Al Profit, etc. Tbh, and this is just my opinion. I think a lot of people take offense to his interviews and interview style b/c he’s yt and j*wish. B/c I guarantee, if he was black I don’t think he’d nearly get as much hate as he does.
Nahh bc i fucks w no jumper it’s not about race. It’s just a clear fact that he is a culture vulture and only benefit from the latest news. Hell i hate DJ ACKedemics bc of his ways of interviews/talking on hip hop news and content so it’s either way bro. He’s just a trash interviewer.
I appreciate that vlad talks about other things besides just promoting albums. You can get articles where they talk about those type of things plenty other places. So i appreciate that you get unique stories and information in a vlad interview. On the other hand sometimes he is disrespectful with the way he handles some of the subject matter. He will start explaining a subject to someone who has way more knowledge than he does. He had an MS13 member on one interview and he starts debating with the guy details about the gang. Why would he argue with someone who in an authority on MS13 when vlad has just read some shit on google about MS? Because you read something online doesn’t make you an expert. It just makes you a parrot. Thats not knowledge when you have not experienced the things you are talking about. Also he can be super condescending when he had a differing opinion on something sometimes. Like laughing about someone else’s take as if to say obviously that isnt true. I get why people would not want to do an interview with him. But i don’t necessarily think he is a culture vulture. I don’t think you should have to black to appreciate hip hop culture. I think hip hop should appreciated and highlighted across the board for all the great things that it is. Just like black history should not be something that is discussed in school during february only. It should be discussed everyday. I mostly just think vlad should re watch his interviews a little more and try to improve his craft so he connects with his the person he is interviewing better and is showing them more respect. Sometimes he sounds like he is looking at the persons life like it is a car wreck. If he could improve this I think people would open up more and give him more interesting details.
Very rarely does it become aparent wheather or not something was positive or negative in its impact on a culture or genre until a sufficiant amount of time has past to be able to look back with enough distance to view the wider picture and how it may have been affected by said actions.....
Y'all acting like vlad hold a gun a the people heads he interviewed. Lol all they have to do is say no. 😂 Look how long way handled is interview, like a G.
I actually find Vlad's interviews pretty entertaining as do many others, otherwise his channel wouldn't be as huge as it is. Ultimately the people getting interviewed can choose to not answer incriminating questions. Great analysis though. Vlad is a source of contention within hip-hop.
sounds pretty superficial its damned if you do damned if you don't i guess.. when he talks about himself people say they don't want to hear it and when he stays off camera and lets it be about the artist he is somehow being a fraud by not showing himself, meanwhile he talks about being a white jewish ukrainian immigrant with relative frequency
Honestly, I don’t understand what the problem is. None of his interviews are live, and the artists can answer the questions however they want. If you go on vlad tv, and self snitch. Then end up in prison, that’s on you. The whole premise of the channel, is to address topics that typical media outlets wouldn’t discuss. If you just wanna push your recent tape, then go to a radio station 🤷🏽♂️
it really is that easy. people just don’t want to admit it. like usual, they want someone to blame instead of being accountable. “accountable”, is a dying word smh 🤦🏻♂️
Whole channel based off trying to catch people in some shit for a click regardless of consequences for the person getting interviewed, that deserves no respect lol as a man I dont respect people like that
You know how in the movie "The Interview" when James Franco's character is talking to eminem, and he says " with your MOTHA?". Vlad reminds me of that. Tries so hard to talk hood and it just comes off as cringe
