This is an outstanding video. I love it when tutorials don't waste time with unnecessary BS and stick with the important elements of the subject. And your personality and delivery really give it an enjoyable character that doesn't feel at all forced. Subscribed!
Such a terrific tutorial! You continue to be the master of finding new, better and weirder uses for stuff than what it was originally intended for!
Thank you! Cheers! I just love experimenting and scaring the crap out of people so....this is my only logical job choice.
@@StiltbeastStudios i have 10 days to try and make one too... But how did you make the sculpture to put the foam on ?
The Blind Dead series is one of my all time favorites. I made Blind Dead style zombies/skeletons that I have put out every year for Halloween for over ten years now, complete with the "Blind Dead" sound effects taken from the movie. Great tutorial!
Sometimes a new pretty skull is too clean, symmetrical and familiar. You can make these forever and each one would turn out different. People see a lot of masks and props at Halloween but they are impressed by and remember the original ones.💀
Thanks John. Im glad you liked the video!
Awesome Job, Allen! Inspirational as always and willing to share your talents and knowledge throughout the sfx community. Thank you!
You rock!
We make our own Halloween decor (usually a specific theme) each year. I usually go back and re-watch your videos whenever I have an idea but unsure how to make it happen. Guaranteed, you always have the answer. You're fecking brilliant.
This sort of reminds me of how Me and my father would make my Halloween costumes. They were always sort of thrown together randomly from whatever we could find but it was always unique
I bet that was awesome. those are the best kinds of costumes
We all wish we had an uncle like you Growin up
well you have one now!
Love this! Once again you knock it out of the park! So many uses and getting us to think on projects!!!
👍
Yes! Thank you!
I love the look of this one. I have made many paper mache skulls for my catacombs. But this appears to be a fantastic alternative to paper mache. Thanks, Allen!
it is certainly faster
Wow that looked great. I really appreciate the step by step you do with whatever you make. You do a great job!
When I saw the costume at the beginning "Tomb of the Blind Dead" is exactly what I thought. I've wanted to make a costume from that and this is perfect!
thank you, its a classic look!
Yes! I knew I was on the right track with that spray foam. Idea just popped into my head and then the searching. Had no idea there's so many more things you can do with this.
its an awesome material
You redefine the word Halloween in your shares and you're so so generous I am so glad I found you last year because this year I will have my own haunted house made with gear I learned how to make because of you! Thank you so very much!
Thats so awesome! Happy Halloween!
This is amazing work! Fun to watch the spook-ter-piece take shape. Thank you for sharing your amazing talents!
Thank you so much! These are fun to make!
Allen, you’re an awesome inspiration for the rest of us Monster Kids man. Thanks brother!!
Damn that is so simple yet so affective! It looks great!
thank you
Dude your work is spectacular! Watching this just blew my mind. Sat here thinking this genius has a method to his work I've never seen before, and dam i loved every second ❤
These foam sculpted masks are so fun to see you build. Great work!
I made awesome spray foam hands, from your other video, turned out awesome. Oh boy! Now that I know you can sculpt this foam, it's a dream come true! Been pondering this very thing. . . . I can't believe people actually use this Halloween spray foam for home improvements, ba ha haaaaa!
Thanks, great project and inspiration!
SO amazing! I see a plethora of these coming to my haunt. Thank you Allen!
Do it!
@@StiltbeastStudios hi mate i just found you and this is wonderful content bro!i live in the uk an we have different brand names for alot of diy stuff,so what is the name of the foam you are using?can you give me the name of the actual substance too so i can start on a mask asap!thanks man just subbed!
Allen I never would have thought of making a skull out of spray foam. Another great RUclips Wednesday.
Do it!
Another great tutorial, short and quick...lots of information. I really enjoy the process. Thank you..
You are so welcome!
really nice work! great to watch you develop it from a pile of foam into something really amazing (and spooky).
"Teardrop shape" ...this came out looking awesome. Just the right amount of pizzazz.
Pizazzz!
You are always so inspirational! Thanks for sharing so many of your wonderful ideas! This video got me thinking of all the things you could sculpt with Locktite foam. I think I am going to use this technique to try and sculpt some Jack-o-Lanterns 🎃
You can do it!
StiltbeastStudios I started my first one yesterday and so far it is turning out really nice. Thank you again for sharing the idea and instruction for sculpting with Locktite foam. It is such a great medium to use this way. Endless possibilities. 🎃
Dude, I FREAKING LOVE YOU!!!!!! Thanks for all your awesome videos. I have learned so much from you.
About ten years ago I signed up for a year long class in makeup/hair/costume for film, tv and theatre. Sadly, after four months I dropped out due to serious creative differences between me and the teacher of the class (which I felt was not taking it seriously and not doing a very good job). Anyway, during that time we were occasionally working with liquid latex - a material I had used before - and I kept thinking that there should be some way to make a full mask using that..... But as it is liquid AND contains ammoniac it never got past the not-so-bright-idea stage.
But this.... My god! This is almost a step-by-step of how I envisioned making a mask back then!!
Spray foam. Huh! Who'd have thunk it! Awesome video! Thank you!
Oh, and an extra gold star for that really clever way of making super realistic looking teeth!!
Glad you enjoyed the video!
This mask is so gruesomely fantastic! I’m allergic to latex, so if I made a mask it would be this technique. Love the glue stick teeth, too.
Glad you like it!
Hilarious and so talented!!! I want to live in his studio! Happy Halloween everyone!
Come hang out with us!
What an awesome tutorial video! I 100% love this idea! Trying my hand at it tonight. Thank you 🙋♀️
let me know how you like it!
I love watching your tutorials! I'm always so impressed! I would have fun hanging out with you getting creative!
I love thinking outside of the box!
Thank you so much! that would be awesome, I love creating with others!
Who in the heck would give this a thumbs down?? Shame on you for being a party pooper. So creative and amazing. As always, good job Allen.
Agreed. Absolutely ridiculous. They're just jealous of Allen's skills. I wonder if it's THAT GUY. I'm sure Allen knows what I'm talking about.
This is amazing! I've seen the other loctite foam videos you've made which were great too. I have to say, now that I see a full mask from this stuff, I'm blown away. Its sick how cool it looks. 10 outta 10, thumbs up...Reminds me of a Whisperer skin😁👍could easily make a sick "Beta-like" skin with this stuff.
People who have gotten spray foam on their skin.
i bet it wasnt lock tite- great stuff is such a different formula.
@@StiltbeastStudios Could have sworn that this past winter I used Loctite Windows and Doors.
This would be great for the outside yard haunt because it's waterproof. I've used hot glue for a lot of things but never thought to use it for teeth. Thanks again Allen, this is such a great Idea.
make some teeth!
Wow.... where have you been all of my creative life!!!
AMAZING
texas? but it depends on how old you are- could also be Orlando ;)
Amazing work! I learned something new with expanding foam. Thanks for sharing your talent.
Glad it was helpful!
That was awesome, but what was even more awesome was the fact that I think you reply to every comment (I scrolled down really far), even if they are not asking you something. How nice is that :)
I try, but some get by me.
@@StiltbeastStudios Well you're only human :)
Epic! You're like the Yoda for the Halloween force. We were using ideas from Tombs of the Blind Dead too. This is fantastic.
Just wait.....
This was so friggin' cool! Thanks for the tutorial!
Glad you liked it!
That is just absolutely amazing just out of foam, glue and paint awesome idea , awesome effect . thanks for sharing all the best Andy🏴
Glad you enjoyed it
Whoa!? That looks effing awesome dude! I've always wanted to make my own masks but materials are expensive and it's cheaper just to buy pre made store bought masks. You have shown me and the rest of us an affordable, fast and fairly easy method to create our own at home. Thanks for uploading this informative and educational video man, much appreciated. I am now a subscriber u have me interested in your fantastic art and the ways u create it.👍✌💀
Very cool, welcome aboard and thanks for the sub. now...go make stuff!
I am making a D&D "mimic" treasure chest as a Xmas present. I want to try using the Loc Tite to "sculpt" the inside mouth area of the creature. I have used the other cheap can foam and LARGE panty hose in the past (spray inside the hose creates smooth round and oval shapes) to form very nice curvy props like the body of a giant spider but HAND sculpting can foam has me excited to try this.
Neat!
This looks so awesome!! I love it! I've watched several of your videos& gotten allot of inspiration& had to subscribe!!
In remodeling I use a lot of spray foam. The water spraying tip will save me much work, thanks so much.
very cool, glad I could help!
I am a mask-maker who loves to use unusual materials, so this is so great! I had never heard of loctite foam, so you just opened a whole lot of project ideas for me. Thanks for the inspiration! (What sort of physical properties does this have when dry? Is it durable? Any shrinkage or crumbliness over time? Thanks again!)
durable, I have not noticed shrinkage and in 3 years no crumbliness.
@@StiltbeastStudios Awesome, thanks for the great tip!
super cool, easy and creepy! Love it!
Hey! So it seems Allen actually never stops making stuff.
NEVER!
Glad you like it!
@@johnc6228 Nope, only the day he dies will he stop.
This is the exact video I needed to find. Different idea in mind, but THIS process just absolutely blew my mind with possibilities while keeping my budget to a minimum. Thanks so much for sharing your video.
go make stuff!
Very clever man, enjoyed watching the steps and was looking for a video something just like this. Thank you for sharing and explaining. Gunna give it a go
Garnish with spiders and roaches. Love it.
Yeah... better than parsley!
Me: This is so cool!!!!
My anxiety: That laptop is gonna fall and break!!!!
I will give your anxiety a workout lol.
This is one of my favorite videos to watch. I really enjoy tombs of the blind dead and making an easy mask like this based on those Templars is awesome.
Hey thanks- it was a fun project. And that is a great movie!
indeed! now that we know how the make a mask we can apply this to making arms!. The hardest thing is to make the Templar outfit!
I love all the creative ideas from you
Is ok to wear that stuff on your skin? I remember you saying great stuff should not be worn against your skin.
we will be wearing a lycra headsock under it. I do that for almost all skull masks
@@StiltbeastStudios gotcha!
I did not know you could do this with that stuff... Got my mind turning with all kinds of props and decorations for my yard LOL
Love the mask! Turned out AWESOME!!!
You can do it! Go make stuff!
Another awesome tutorial, as always. Thanks!
Glad you liked it!
Thank you for all these videos showing how to do so many and different things and what one can use.❤️
You are so welcome! Glad you like them
Watched this and you got an instant subscribe! This is the talent and creativity I love!
Thanks for subbing!
Also great for installing and filling in around window A/C units. But seriously, that was an amazingly creative use for spray foam...soooo cool.
glad ya liked it!
It must get old hearing what an artistic genius you are....AMAZING work....thank you for the inspiration.
I just know Im not lol, I love to make things and try new materials but people are very kind.
That turned out awesome
That was awesome. Thanks for sharing your skills!
My pleasure!
This gave me such a great idea to make props! Thank you so much dude!
Glad I could help!
That is fabulous!
So fricking awesome! You are a true artist
Thank you! Glad you're enjoying the videos!
That was an awesome project. Really enjoyed watching
Glad you enjoyed it
Would have never thought of using spray foam. Seems to work, awesome work brother.
I can see why you were concerned that people might think some kind of video trickery was involved, the difference between the foam covered head at the beginning and the final result is just flat out amazing!
the materials are doing most of the work- you should try it!
DUDE! SO FRIGGIN COOL!
That was incredible.
The colors bring this together so much
color theory is king!
That came out awesome and love how cheap it is to make.
so cheap!
you make it look so easy! Great video!
I love great stuff expandable foam. I always say the inventor deserves a Nobel prize. I typically use this foan as more a decorative thing rather than a mostly full build but, I think I'll find a reason to do so.
Can you please tell me why my Dorian foam gets too stringy and sticky too mold? It forms a skin but as soon as I start to mold it it breaks through the skin and it’s a mess.
My gosh!!!!!!! Legendary tutorial and results to boot.
Glad ya like it!
Dude is amazing. Love when he put the mask on his head
No mask leaves my shop without it it going on my head lol.
You amaze me everytime this is so creative with spray foam
Watching you create always gives me the inclination that I could do it too.
thats the ultimate hope!
This is absolutely amazing . Your talent, skills , and personality all shine through. Thank you for this vid
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@StiltbeastStudios very inspiring
Wow that was awesome!. I love how you did the teeth. I would have never thought of that. I'm off to get some spray foam!
go get you some! then make stuff!
I love it. Thank you for your hard work.
Awesome work Allen. Great idea!
Thanks 👍
This is really clever, nice job man.
AMAZING ! I love it.
OMG I LOVE this!!! So simple even someone like me might be able to make it.
You can do it!
This was cool af. Love the idea
glad ya liked it!
that came out awesome! the texture you get with the spray foam would make a great leatherface type mask too
Great idea!
Another great tutorial. I've never seen the teeth / hot glue trick. Now I must try it! Thanks again!!
Do it!
StiltbeastStudios I have also seen press-on fingernail tips used very effectively as teeth. I may incorporate that technique when I try your foam sculpting process. This looks fantastic, btw.
That's the most amazing method to make a skull mask I've ever seen.. Awesome mate :)
glad you liked it!
Too Cool!! Love it. Thank you for sharing your ideas.
Glad you like them!
Spot on for the Templar from those movies. Awesome!
Well I’ll be damned. Never knew you could make anything out of loctite foam. That’s a new one to me. Very cool!
That turned out so cool!!
Make one!
Great job, I enjoyed that!
I’ve only watched half the video. The talent that these kind of people have is amazing. It’s definitely one skill I don’t have. I luv how they take nothing and make something
I have no douibt that you could do it with a bit of practice.
That spayfoam/ water hack is awesome. Needed to know that, thank you!
works best on locktite foam, but it does work on greatstuff!
