This is gorgeous. My husband died two months ago and we loved watching your channel together. He was a logger by trade and I think this one would have been his favorite. I love watching your videos they give me peace in a time where I need it thank you for all the beautiful creations they are lovely to watch.
This is absolutely amazing, I love how all the feathers are equally aligned and overlaid, the most important part of creating or drawing in my case an animal is that it looks exactly like the reference, and this is absolutely spot on
Paint sprayer tip: if you’re painting with a dark color and then are doing a sealant/top coat over it, mix a little bit of your paint in with your sealant before spraying. Otherwise the color might become cloudy or you’ll be able to see streaks of the clear coat. Not an issue for light paint colors though.
Blake, you are one heck of a person. The idea, the creativity, the craftsmanship along with your hardwork and dedication is something out of this world. I can't imagine the time and patience that takes in creating those amazing sculptures that you do, it's truly admiring.
All the work you do brings back old childhood memories. A family member of mine would always be in the garage and the whirring of the machines was a way of knowing he was there. As a kid, I was terrified of the machineries he used and afraid he was going to get hurt. Yet, as I grew older, he let me help him. I loved it and felt right. Sadly, it's been over 2 years since he said his final goodbye. Everytime I go to the garage and work on my own personal projects, I feel him. I'll always be his little girl. I miss him, but I know he's always there.🥺
@@BMSculptures A battery-operated hoof trimmer for sheep, INFACO is one brand. This will spare you not only repetitive injuries later one but time right now.
Very impressive work. I do a lot of foam carving sculpture and one handy thing I learned was that if you use a home plant water mist sprayer to lightly mist the sprayed foam it will cure faster. This is particularly helpful in climates where there is very low humidity or if your workshop is really hot. Also, if you are planning to inject a lot of foam into a hollow space, spray some water mist into the hollow space first. Then fill the hollow in layers and mist each layer lightly as you go. This prevents the foam from curing solid on the outside but staying wet and uncured in the centre. Love your work.
Thank you so much for sharing your process! I just started using styrofoam insulation and spray foam this Christmas. I love that you resource and recycle so many of your materials. I am a 67 year old grandma starting yet another foray into three dimensional art. Wheee!
I made an eagle from a foam football and a Styrofoam ball, armature wire and foam sheets.lots of glue. I loved how it came out. Love watching an artist such as yourself.
Using tire material as textured feathers is brilliant! This why I love watching artists. They use such neat things one would never think could be used. Only thing I do is use cans, soap and baking soda boxes as bases and envelope paper as covering. But it’s recycling like you do.
wow the tire gives really nice feather texture, having been around a lot of eagles while in Alaska one thing i noticed is their furrowed/deep brows are one of the most defining features so other than missing that it looks great.
I love watching your work come to life, but I had a bit of a question! Instead of having to paint those thousands of crown staples, why not purchase the black versions? They have black and hyperblack crown staples that would potentially save a lot of time / effort.
Outstanding! This is not just craftmanship, but artistry (or should I say "This is not just artistry, it is craftmanship"?). We plebeians do not always realize that extraordinary lengths you must go to--nor the various skills that must come into play--to create something wonderful. I got to thinking that you might be able to hire a neighborhood kid to do a lot of the tire cutting for you. In any case, I am very much impressed. THANK YOU for sharing your gift with the world.
As not just a proud American but also Eagle Scout this sculpture is my favorite of all. Your epoxy ones are awesome as well but this one really hits home for me the most. You have real skill.
Hey Blake, WOW stunning eagle. You have an amazing eye and no shame in sending out for specialist tradesmen to help. Another amazing sculpture, thanks for sharing.
The issue I have with people who are as skilled as you are is that you make it look so easy. It gives me the false confidence that I could make that, when i can barely make a snowman.
Your work is so beautiful and unique. I love how your projects have so much heart and say something. Wing spans of any large bird 🦅 are tough to get proportions right even in drawings. You did an amazing job to bring him alive.
It's cool I live in north western PA. I occasionally get to see eagles around the Allegheny and Clairion rivers sometimes while I'm riding my horse or driving. I'm always in awe of them. I feel blessed and thank God, when I get to witness them.
That is one of best art pieces I have ever seen!! What incredible patience!! Very beautiful and just perfect!! You should be very proud and satisfied!! 👍
Beautiful display!! I find it work impressive. Being retired from raising kids, work & now having money 2 pursue my talents again. Watching your work, has given new joy to my life. My plan now is to use my God given talents for my enjoyment. Retirement now has new meaning for my life. Thank you for sharing yours.
I can't get over how cool this is. This is such a masterpiece. I always though creates with metal claws and things are a great aesthetic, and the addition of the tires for feathers is so good!
How apt it is to use discarded tyres for this majestic eagle artwork commissioned by a tyre company! Tnx for sharing the tips about using aluminum foil adhesive as a surface protectant and the welded balls polishing.
OMG that is so freakin awesome, it's absolutely perfect. I can't believe how well you got the arch of the wings and the flow into his back it literally looks like he is about to take off. Wow you nailed it, beautiful work.
Thanks for your honest video. I thought I was the only one who really battles with armatures. I get there eventually but I'm trying to come up with a go-to formula that works for me consistently.
That is quite something...I used have that passion years ago and drive to follow something as intricate through to the end. It`s just seems like a lot of hard work now.
That looks amazing. I used to work at a radio shack. We would take the RC cars outside and play with them. Or sometimes we'd have a return when the customers got bored with them. Either way the tires would be dirty. We would spray pledge furniture polish on them, let it dry and just crumble off and it made them look new again. It might work for you too. Also I used to do spray finishes in a factory and your painting looked pretty good to me. I really enjoy watching you make these.
The metallic flak looks amazing. Great shout, and great shout leaving the eyes carved and not putting anything extra in there. This was one of your most flawless sculptures!! No mistakes! Good job man!! Keep ‘em coming:)
this is my first time seeing one of your videos and i can say for sure that i am never leaving …this was incredible to watch. you’re so talented man. awesome work
I've admired your tire sculptures for a while but this is the first time I watched the process start to finish. It's so interesting and you are supremely talented!
Polyester resin will eat the foam, but if you use epoxy resin, such as West systems or Total Boat, you won't have any problems, it doesn't smell and it cures faster, depending on the hardener you use and it's wayyyyyy stronger! I recently repaired heavy rust damage on my car and used spray insulating foam to reconstruct the missing form lost to rust, shaped it then epoxyed and glassed over it, a little bondo and paint and the repair area looks brand new, very impressed with this method. If you don't like pink foam, try EPP foam as a sub structure material. It comes in two densities, heavy and light. Hope you read this, I think these alternatives will help. I used West Systems, btw from West Marine.
Dude your work is amazing , don’t know how you have the eye for it , I especially like how you can take bike tires and see a layout that when the finished product is revealed it’s amazing .. your modern day Picasso but with sculptures !!
Omg you sir! And your channel are hidden gems of youtube! Glad I came across your channel!!! The sculpture is amazing!!! I think your the first person I've come across that could give Duke a run for his money! Great job keep it up!
1.6M views and only 43K likes. Definitely deserves more likes than what it has. I absolutely loved this sculpture. Keep up the amazing work and looking forward to all your future pours and sculptures.
This is my first time watching you work and I can't believe how your sculpture came out just by using recycled tires the texture it gives to each feathers amazing now you have me hooked lol great job with the eagle 💜💜
Killer job, again! Paint spray tips, the trigger will engage the air first, then paint second. Takes practice, but you can partially release the trigger, find the paint cut off point, this keeps the air flowing, and will stop drops when you re-engage the paint/trigger. Also, start your first spray pass off to the side of the object, not on it. Cheers
What a fantastic process you have shown & described for us. Wonderfully thought out with the feathers being a stand out. Your use of the bicycle tyres for the feathers was inspired. They look so natural it's amazing. Your commentary 'on the run' is absolutely great allowing people into the mind of an Artist rather than being lost in some contrived mystique. Well done, delightful in all respects. Don from South Aust.
tip for the xps foam. if its burning and putting off those toxic fumes youve got way to hot of a knife, you can use a much lower temperature and get clean cuts without the melty look just as fast but the bonus is it only putts off water vapor if your cutting at the intended temperatures, it doesn't hurt to use a respirator anyways but its also just safer to use a lower temperature knife.
Dude, you blow me away! Your creativity and level of skill, your use of materials are incredible and so inspiring. I love your work! This piece is breathtaking. ❤ 🙏
you know, Im looking at this whole process and thinking, 'I can do this' but Im missing one key component....the SKILL, which you have abundantly sir. Beautiful work as usual!

So sorry for your loss

Thanks for the tip I know it helped me
Yes! This works great for furniture painting too with a brush. I’m a furniture artist. I find this piece absolutely gorgeous!!!
That's such a wonderful idea, thanks!
Can you explain further I don’t understand
Thank you

As a clay medium user, I'd never thought recycled tires can be use as medium for sculptures, it is superbly done, wow!
Look up Brian Jungen, a Canadian Indigenous artist who uses Nike Air Jordans to sculpt native masks...
Your mind will be blown!!!
Cheers!

What a cool piece! Love how the smooth texture from the steel contrasts against the texture of the tires.
Thank you very much!

This is incredible. Love the recycled materials!
Thanks Ken!
There is not one gram of recycled material there, Sr... The is a huge difference between recycling and reusing...You may want to look it up, Sr.

Thank you Blake for the wonderful sculpture... I feel inspired by this one particularly... it was great to watch your craft start to finish!
Oh my goodness, the eagle is stunning- so realistic and quite majestic. Well done Blake.
Thanks Jude!

Thought the same, but maybe he once bought the lime green ones in bulk for cheap and now has a life supply of them to use up
@@petrescuework-difficultcas6581 he uses blk paint quite often so those would benefit him
Absolutely stunning how you can make literal tires into genuine and impressive pieces of art. Amazing.
Truly nice work of art you do! The use of all kind of materials is so nice!
The end took my breath away! Outstanding sculpting, and the tires are a touch of genius.
The eagle may be bald but the tires aren’t.

Really nice utilization of common materials to make a work of art
Thank you!
That is one of best art pieces I have ever seen!! What incredible patience!! Very beautiful and just perfect!! You should be very proud and satisfied!! 👍
I wonder how much something like this cost 😩 looks insane.
A lot, many hours to get it done and the cost of materials and getting the fiberglass done, not to mention time spent designing it
I am also super curious, the hours and talent spent is insane!
OUTSTANDING. I love this so much. My favorite is the beak and the use of old tires. GREAT JOB!!!!! Damn I want one of these.
That's super badass with that black and white coloring, combined with shiny steel! Just, wow!
Amazing work! Very talented, love your use of materials ! Keep creating you have a gift!!❤❤
Love the use of repurposing old bike tires. You should be super proud of your work x
OMW! This is absolutely INCREDIBLE!!!💥❤ I loved watching every minute of this! You are truly an artist!AMAZING! JUST ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!💥❤🏆🦅
This is a gorgeous sculpture of an Eagle. So much work is put into this endeavor. Amazing!
I think it looks like my budgie at first. Then after you finished it the Eagle has landed. It looks great. Keep up the good work. 🦅😎👍💯
Nice work!
I like the fact that you have good manners in asking people to consider subscribing, not very common these days.

It went from metal, to a turkey, to a parrot, to an eagle. Wow.
Amazingly beautiful thank you for showing

Imagine what could be made if everyone had access to a workshop with more than $100k worth of tools and machinery... Great work, I appreciate the art
Totally awesome! To think old tires turned into a beautiful Bald Eagle. Excellent work.
Glad you liked it!

My favorite part is when you use the spray foam, which is messy at first, but you make it look good at the end
Every new sculpture you create Blake, just blows me away. Tip of the Fedora.

That finished product doesn't look like a turkey. Great job man. I was a bit shocked at the use of tires for feathers, that was a creative idea.

This is seriously one of the most beautiful pieces I have seen in a looooooong time! Love the imaginative use of mediums
Es un Bello trabajo
When I was in 7th grade I made a sheild for a school project with an eagle. I used aluminum foil to make the feathers for the wings.
It would be great to see where they end up and peoples reactions to these amazing pieces of art. Incredible talent!

Безумно красиво!
Продолжай делать такие невероятные скульптуры!
Bald eagles are my favorite bird. That is an awesome sculpture
Like I said you are gifted. I wished I could watch you earlier in the day. Keep creating bold beauty.
Wow Great job. I never would of thought to use old tires for feathers but this is awesome. Thanks for sharing!
Another amazing piece. Never would of thought of old tires as a medium. Very talented
Man you’re on a level of your own.
That’s a f#%*g killer sculpture dude.
using old tires for feathers!!!
Amazing work man
Unbelievable. Master craftsman at work ! Beautiful!
you know, Im looking at this whole process and thinking, 'I can do this' but Im missing one key component....the SKILL, which you have abundantly sir. Beautiful work as usual!
