    Hi. Answering your question on why I clicked in your podcast: I like all the ones I already watched. I like how well structured you make them, with pictures, details, and research results. I also appreciate when a podcaster puts time stamps, like you do. It helps a lot when you want to go back and rewatch something specific in a podcast. So the short answer it is that I’m a subscriber and I watch everything you post!❤

      That was so kind of you, thank you for taking the time to say that ! I definitely prefer it when podcasters do all of that, which is why I do it !! Even if it takes more time editing. Happy knitting to you ♥

    I find it so interesting to listen to your plans. I've got a request: could you do a podcast on how you find all your yarn bargains. I never seem to find yarn in sales, but you have a talent for finding all sort of good deals and discounts!

      I had a sweaters quantity of a nice heather acrylic in a drawer for almost 60 years! I am using it now to make a pullover for my 13 year old grandson. Do I get the prize for the old yarn?😊

      @@carolynbjerk7514I think you do get the prize.! I thought it was bad that I had 24 year old yarn, that I hauled home from my vacation to Ireland.

    Your analysis (i.e., the beginning of your video) is one of my favourite parts of your podcasts and a big reason why you're one of my very favourite RUclipsrs. :) I really love all the detail you include (price, age of stash, etc.). I think you and I have a similar approach to knitting as well as the same affinity for patterns, though I'd say our colour preferences are wildly different! (I usually knit with black and/or saturated gem-tones like green and brown, so it's really fun to see the same patterns knit up in your wintery colour choices.)
    We have so many patterns in common for the fall...! I'm going to be casting on the Peach socks this week, and will also be making the Pumpkin version of that pattern as well as the Bat socks. I'm also planning to make an Oslo hat and the Lakes sweater, and would really like to try modifying the Cameo vest into a sweater. Ravelry threads for the patterns would be SO much fun!

    • @thewoollyworker
      @thewoollyworker  10 месяцев назад

      Thank you so much, i loved reading your comment because i felt very seen !! I do take a systematic and organised approach to it and it brings a lot of joy! I love seeing different patterns knit up in wildly different yarns, it's hard to imagine beforehand what that would look like, so it's nice when you can see it !! I'm just about to cast on my lakes sweater (and have casted on the oslo hat) so if you have instagram, hit me up to be added to the groupchat !

    Hi Vanissia ! I love seeing podcasts like this because seeing all of the beautiful patterns that you plan to knit and the yarns you plan to use is so inspiring. I have added some of these patterns to my queue. This fall, along with some ongoing WIPS I have, I have 3 sweaters planned for myself: the CreaBea’s Kerr Sweater using Valley Yarns Hampden in Sand and Rust; the Lunenburg Pullover by Amy Christoffers using Rauma Finull in tan with brown, orange/ rust and greens for the yoke ; and the Forager Sweater by Isabell Kraemer using Hillesvag Tinde in a beautiful shade of moss green. As always, Happy Knitting!

    Hi Vanissia. Wonderful podcast thanks! Loved hearing about all your yarns especially. I share a love for Isager and Sandnes garn and am presently knitting Beaufort 5 by Isabell kraemer - a beautiful textured knit, in alpaca 2 and spinni in light blue/grey.....my favourite colour right now. Also knitting Eva cardigan in mid blue grey, Peer Gynt. really enjoying both. On the needles too, are a petite knits zipper sweater in an aran tweed for my son coming in to winter in Boston, and also for him, a Lettlopi jersey - frogged body, bottom-up, as too large, but kept the bottom motif/colour work of and icelandic pattern - and also completed both arms w cuff colour work the same, but will create another zipper sweater body and bring this all together somehow. Ha - what fun we create for ourselves. Loved hearing all of your upcoming knitting plans. I had better rein myself in and complete a few projects presently, which also include a large double moss stitch throw in peacock merino, DK, but held double, on size 10mm needles: and a self crafted poncho based on PK zipper sweater neck/chest then merino strips basically greys but also malabrigo purple/grey, and chartreuse....with icord finished edge. All to be shipped over to him from NZ for this winter. So enjoying working my way through your podcasts, whilst I am also enjoying progress on all of my knitting projects. Love your podcasts ❤

    This is the first video of yours that I have watched and I am now a subscriber so thank you for a great video! I was drawn to it for the fall patterns. Fall is my favorite season and favorite time of knitting. I love your thoughts on why you chose these patterns and yarns. It helps me think of what not only inspires me but what works best for me. My current fall knit is the Daily Pullover but have been thinking about casting on the Champagne Cardigan by Petite Knits. The Lakes Pullover is a definite interest and I think I want to knit that instead of the cardigan. So thanks for that inspiration!

    Thanks for a great episode. Your excitement is infectious and that's so wonderful. I've just finished a long knit (for me). A cardigan with braids (Silva by Ivar Asplund) that I started in March. It has been one of those projects where everything goes wrong and it's a slog, and I second guess myself at every other step pretty much. So I feel a little burned out, and this episode really helped me feel excited about a next project. So thank you.

    Salut ! Lovely video, as always. I'm currently knitting an Eclair pullover by Laura Penrose (without bobbles). I'm enjoying it so far, but classes have just resumed (I'm a teacher) so I will have significantly less time for knitting which will slow the process.
    I have at least three babies in my life coming soon so I will switch to baby knitting soon. I will probably make toys (I've knitted tons of Julie Williams patterns). Toys make lovely gifts and are always very much appreciated.

    Love the indigo cashmere yarn, so beautiful! And really like the dark burgundy color too. I had to smile at your comment about rules. I also work better with rules, that’s why I’m a monogamous knitter (for the most part), because I know from past experience if I start another project, I never finish the first one. Currently, working on socks. Then I plan to knit Ursina by Jacqueline Cieslak. It is a top down v-neck sweater with brioche at the bottom and can be either cropped or full length. You have inspired me to look for vest patterns - great idea to use up smaller quantities of stash yarn. Thanks!

    I think it's interesting to hear how you have decided which patterns to choose, as well as hear about them. I really appreciate these "what I hope to knit this season" videos, as they give me ideas for the future. I'm hoping to start Albiona's Timepiece Cardigan soon, but I want to get a scarf and a small baby blanket off the needles first. If you knit Ozetta's Traveller Cardigan, I'll be interested to hear about your experience. I almost chose her Field Day Cardigan instead of the Timepiece, as I wanted an integrated button band. But I wasn't in the mood for a drop shoulder, so Timepiece it is :).

We're going to spend a month in the desert in Southern California this winter to get away from Canadian snow for a while so all my knitting now is with that in mind. Temps range from just above zero Celsius to highs of 16ish so I'm thinking a Zipper sweater light for hubby, Eva for me, both by PetiteKnits and both in Peer Gynt, the Earth Pullover by Ozetta in my own BFL and Forager by Melody Hoffman in Plotulopi. I really enjoy hearing the considerations that people put into their thought processes while curating their to-knit list. I love all the inspiration that I get for my own list! I hadn't seen MFTK's #22 sweater until I saw this video. As soon as I saw it I loved the detail of the buttons on the shoulder and knew it was going on my to-make list. It is so unique. It will be a bit challenging for me with some new construction techniques and I have never done one of her patterns before. Are they clear and easy to follow in your experience? I am thinking of steel blue stripes on a light gray background... It is so fun to plan projects! Depending on when you plan to make it, I would love to knit it along with you.

    Have you considered knitting the Ranunculus? It's a good way to use up your leftover yarn. For a short sleeve, not too cropped sweater you can get away with around 400 yards or less..

    Strange to write in English since you're Belgian and I'm Dutch, but I don't trust my French enough :) I love your projects! I have too much planned to join in a knitalong now, although the office sweater (seems to be only available as a kit at the moment?) and the Coming Soon sweater are right up my alley - I need more basics! And they'll look gorgeous in the yarn you picked. I've knit with De Rerum Natura and although it sometimes decides to pill all over, it's a joy to knit with :) I might join you for the beret, although I used up my souvenir skein of Nervus fiber I got during our holidays in Scotland this year, I have enough other pretty sock yarns!

    First time watching your channel: I clicked because (a) I like the inspiration for patterns and (b) I'm super nosey about yarn stash -- I love to know what people are buying and the colour ideas and how much people have. And I guess bonus (c) I am curious about how people make plans and how it compares to my own methods and goals. I personally have one pattern per month that I aim to knit and then everything else is a spontaneous cast-on. I would like to knit the Office Sweater, but I can't find a way to buy just the pattern. Too bad. But I have a recommendation for a polo jumper for you. Do you know "Perfect Polo" by Hinterstein? I think the pattern is great. I think I will knit one this autumn.

      Great suggestion! I have added it to a polo bundle haha. And you can get the office sweater on her own website, not the one linked on ravelry, if you just type "knitflitter" on google it should show up ! make sure to get the english one, not norsk

      @@thewoollyworker Thanks for the tip, I bought the pattern immediately. 😊 I'm glad you like the "Perfect Polo". I love Hintermstein's patterns. She always has such fancy constructions and every jumper, every cardigan is different.

    So nice to see all your inspiration. I'm currently knitting the Robin Sweater which is designed for the Ulysses yarn, but I couldn't find that here so I'm using a different merino.
    You mentioned knitting on your trip. What's your experience witj bringing a knitting project on the flight? I'm flying to Brussels next week and are having trouble finding good info on whether I'm allowed to bring knitting needles in my hand luggage. My husband thinks I'm ridiculous that I can't be without the knitting for 2 hours, but I want to knit. But I also don't want to loose my knitting things in security...

    • @thewoollyworker
      @thewoollyworker  10 месяцев назад

      I just brought my cheap sock needles so at worst, I'd lose them, but I heard people sometimes bring wood needles to be safe. But I've also never heard of anyone getting them confiscated so depends how risk-adverse you are. I think it should be fine ! Just no scissors obviously

      Wow, thank you! And yes, it's a great yarn to get, you can purchase directly from Wee County Yarns in the UK, or fine fettle fibre, baa wool, etc, im not sure if they all ship outside of the uk but can always browse the online uk shops and see !

    I honestly *shouldn't* click on videos like this, as I am easily distracted from my current knitting to new ideas. But I don't care! I really enjoy these looks at what people have planned.
    I sympathise with your overheating problem, it's the same for me. My knitwear goes unworn for large swathes of the year. I had to embrace long ago that I can't let that bother me. I avoided sweater knitting for some time as a result, but now if I like a sweater but it looks too warm, I may well just not bother with the sleeves! The increasing number of slipovers/vests is very useful too.
    I have an Oslo hat wip too, which is honestly taking far too long. I think the fact that I am using two strands of yarn together (Holst Garn) is slowing me down because every so often I miss a strand and have to stop to go back. I will try to pick it up again soon!

    • @thewoollyworker
      @thewoollyworker  10 месяцев назад

      aw aha, yeah i also get side tracked too easily by other people's plans. And yes slipovers are a god send for that. Good luck with your hat !! I see what you mean with the 2 strands, Im having this issue with my suri alpaca sweater and fishermans rib, so im not laddering down, no way !
