So nice to see people getting their colors done. When I was young in the ..ahem.. 80s, we got classified by seasons. It was so accurate and still holds true. Yes, you are definitely a Winter, and I am a Summer. Nice not to have to wade through wrong color choices. When you know, you know :)
I‘m so glad you‘re already sharing your fall knitting plans! I also want to start Fall Knits beginning of September and your video really got me in the mood 🥰
What a fun, inspirational video!! I live in an area that doesn't see super cold winters, 40"s mostly, so seeing the cardigans was great. Eva is on my list as well and I look forward to following your progress. Thanks for posting, I enjoy well done videos; inspirational, concise, and full of pictures and projects....looking forward to more!
I agree with the in person color consultation. Since we live in the same area, I recommend Ginger Burr, of Total Image Consultants. I had my colors done by Ginger a few years ago and use my palette all the time. She’s in Lynn on the Swamscott line. I like your podcast. I also shop at Another Yarn. Maybe we will cross paths there one day. Can’t wait to get into cardigan knitting too! Keep up the good work! 😁👍
loved this video as always, Amy! I hope you’ll have the best time with your fall knitting and really support the choice of knitting the Judy sweater, it’s one of my favorite pullovers I’ve ever made!
I love the in depth info about the patterns mentioned in the video. Got me hooked on Lento now - I wondered what the hype was about. Often times I scroll past a photo of a project but don't actually know the details behind it. Im excited for fall!
I like your choice of fall knit wear. Cardigans are are a good garment for the seasonal change. A fisherman rib cardigan is on by list to knit and the Sille slipover. Thanks for inspiring us.
I love using natural products like wood buttons or metal zippers on hand knit projects, it does add to it them IMHO ❤ it will look gorgeous 😻 Ahh and I've added the Judy sweater to my favorites!
Wow that is a jam packed episode, I hope that you get to knit all or most of your planned knits for Autumn, I love the colours that you have selected in your wool, ☘☘
Such a lovely episode again, Amy! The wine color of that tee looks beautiful on you. Loved hearing about your inspiration and your line up. I adore autumn in New England, nowhere else is quite the same. Congratulations on having finished your summer knits and now being all set to start with fall! The April cardigan is also on my list and I’m thinking of casting on the Dornie Sweater by Rebecca Clow. I knit the Sille slipover for my husband last fall, it was super quick, is really warm and looks polished, maybe because its more fitted. All your creams and whites have me wondering if I should also pick something in that direction, they look so crisp and glowy! Can’t wait to see what you produce 😊
That was an excellent example of Girl Math in explaining your purchase of the zipper from Petite Knits. I often have to explain to my husband why it is actually cheaper to just buy exactly what I need at a higher price online rather than drive all over town or spending hours online looking for it. I think I might try the Lento pattern and I really like your selection of yarn that you'll be using. This was an great video!! Really enjoyed it.
Wow, that's a lot of fun knitting! When you said you had all that yarn around you, I could actually feel the pull. I'm finishing up my last summer tee of the year (there were many that didn't happen and now I want to do the Lanikai) and look forward to some fall knitting. Nothing on my list yet except some fun colorwork socks by Kate Davies and a leftover vest from the spring that I want to finish for the fall.
What a great inspo! I am patiently waiting for Magda pattern release from Skall Studio and English version of Fall Loop Sweater from Other Loops; meanwhile finishing my Sweater No 9 Light from MFK; and planning some finering weight+mohair pullover ideas! So much to choose from :)
Fall Y’All 🍂🍁 my favorite season too!!! Love your lineup and color palette (especially since I’m the same category). However, I have one Everything November Fingerless Mitt done (except for thumb) in autumnal colors. Wrap style Cardigan patterns ideas are giving me inspiration too. Sending you all the support vibes for your Whitmore Cardigan success 😊
Hi Amy, I subscribed after first time visit and look forward to catch up on pevious videos. I’m from Oslo, Norway. We are on the same page, knitwise, regarding colors and style preferences. Kind regards, Marit
The thing that really grabbed me to get me into fall knitting was Stephen West's new Woolly Waffle sweater, I saw it come out and was instantly like "yep, that's what I'm making next" and I'm loving it so far! I also ordered some yarn from Sewrella's Taylor Swift collection and I'm very excited for it to get here :)
I'm from maine and I've felt the touch of fall already. Especially in the morning and evening. Perfect low to mid 70s weather during the day! The knitting bug has bit me and I have a whole list for xmas presents! Maybe a trip to the yarn store 😊
I'm one of the knitters that was taken by the Lento at the beginning of the year! 😅 I have knitna Lento every month since January - I love it! My record is 6days to knit one 😊
Your Lento sweater is going to be gorgeous! Now I want to make one. I’ve had the Cider House socks on my needles since April- I love the pattern and the process (2 at a time). It’s kind of a palette cleanser for me as I’ve been participating in too many KALs and gift knitting. New goal- finish these socks!
Such nice inspiration!!! I’ve knit with juniper moon farms Patagonia a couple of times and I would definitely recommend holding another strand with it! Either a mohair or even a lace weight alpaca or something because I have found that it pills quite a lot! It is a very nice and soft Merino but it hasn’t held up so well in my couple of projects!
I love all of your fall inspo!! I'm also going to cast on an Ingrid Slipover this fall and I'm excited to see how yours will knit up since mine is on the opposite end of the grey scale!
I made two Lentos last winter. One long sleeve and one short. I wore them more than anything! Beautiful sweater and pattern- I want another this year in some Noro
Oh my, after checking out the No Sweat Sweatshirt, I have already purchased the pattern and the Noro yarn (on Etsy, best price I could find). You have given me great inspiration! Love your channel! Diane in SC
I especially love how beautiful the wool/mohair combination looks like for your Zipper Sweater. I‘m not a fan of Mohair, but I really like how the two look. Can‘t wait to see how it‘ll come together. I definitely going to look into some alternatives for the Mohair because the black solid color looks so so good with that charcoal.
I think I've watched this video in 3 parts, because I keep scurrying off to Ravelry and getting distracted looking for pattern inspiration. 🤣 I've already started a colourwork DK hat because the weather here in the Netherlands has been very confused lately. I also want to make the Towy mitts by Knitlib (Suzen), and I'm hoping to re-start my frogged cardigan soon. Just need to swatch this time. I also love the idea of a V-neck cardigan vest/slipover/waistcoat type thing, as a layering piece. Haven't found a pattern yet though.
Very inspiring episode. Sille slipover will definately go to my to do-list. I'm knitting on my Salty Days Sweater by Kutovakika and hope to finish it this weekend.
I've got the lento on my list as well! I'm doing a test knit and finishing two other sweaters so I'm not sure I'll be able to get to it lol. But I've got blue suri with a dark grey yarn so I'm thinking it'll be okay for winter!
The Eva cardigan is definetly on my list! I want to make some tank tops in wool as well, which I think will be great for layering or for wearing at home during winter (I live in a new build so it’s too warm for sweaters). Would love to give cabled socks a go as well. For the weekend hat: consider sizing down on the needles! I knitted it last year, and it’s way too big as the ribbing is so flexible. Might make a new one this winter. Loved watching your video as always :D
You definitely have cool undertones, so winter colors make sense for you. I have pretty obvious yellow undertones and have determined that my best color palette is deep autumn. But I still look pretty good in some of the deeper jewel tone winter colors. I'm a little jealous that you can wear gray though. Grays just look terrible on me.
Love the video and your plans! In case you haven't seen it, I highly recommend the Snowfield Slipover by Cheryl Mokhtari, I knit it up recently and absolutely love it :)
I really enjoyed watching this video :) Your videos are always so structured haha I can't bear myself to get like that in my videos :') so way to go! I'm currently working on a navy blue poppy tee as my final summer knit! Might have been inspired by your electric blue one :) also love the tee you're wearing! xxxx
So inspiring, and I feel like there are a lot of petite knit patterns on my fall wishlist too! Love how you went into your colour choices at the beginning - I’ve never gotten my colours analysed but cool tones definitely suit me better and I’ve been trying to find ways how to incorporate fall colours into this season’s knitting.
This has been a joy, as always, to listen to while knitting. I currently have three different projects I'm working on, covering all types of "complicated" knits - cables in Arctic Light Sweater by kutovakika, colorwork in Porcelain Sweater by leKnit and lace in dress Augustins no 20 by Anne-Sophie Velling.
Thank you all the fall inspiration ideas! That charcoal/black zipper sweater is amazing! Is it difficult to sew the zipper in, does the pattern explain how to do it well?
There is a video tutorial linked in the pattern but the directions are spoken in Danish only. However I was still able to follow the video with my first zipper sweater and didn't find it too difficult! If anything it's just a slow and tedious process (I hand sewed but I'm sure you can machine sew it if you want!)
Seasons can be defined in two ways: astronomical seasons (based on the earth's position around the sun, and defined by the solstices and equinoxes), and meteorological seasons, (defined by temperature cycles and weather).... it's a-ok to consider fall to begin in September (meteorological) rather than waiting for the equinox to say it is astronomical fall.
I was so excited to watch this video! I love all the patterns you show and always find so much inspiration. After seeing this I really want to knit the Zipper Sweater. Would you classify this as a difficult knit? I've been knitting for about 2 years and completed a few pullovers and a cardigan.
I think the most difficult part of the zipper sweater is sewing in the zipper! The knitting is similar to most raglan sweaters and with your experience I don't think it would be too difficult!
Thank you for the inspiration, O really love the black swatch. Side note your pronunciation of Hjelholt Uldspinneri isn't too far off but definitely difficult to pronounce 😄
I love your videos! And I am planning to knit most of the things you are showing here. That sweater you are wearing - Chef's Kiss!!! Unfortunately I cannot find any items from Sewrella at this time. Also, where did you find that amazing color card? Do you have an actual physical copy of that?
Sewrella has seasonal yarn always in stock but I believe they just closed their summer collection - I’m sure their Autumn collection will be out soon! You can also follow them on instagram to hear about when their pre order collections open. Secondly, I googled “dark winter color palette” and the color card was one of the first image results! You can search any seasonal palette and I believe they all come from The Concept Wardrobe.
I am knitting the Sille Slipover with worsted weight yarn right now, and I can confirm that DK would've been better! It's a fun pattern though and I'm having a great time- I just wish there was a better way of doing a 2x2 rib Italian bind off.
Hi there - i love your videos. You do an amazing job producing quality videos in both content and visuals which is great to see in knitting vlogs. (I was a producer in my former life). It is your channel so you do you but if I can suggest, respectfully, that perhaps you slow down just a little. I know on TikTok and other social media outlets influencers are speaking so quickly but on RUclips I think you have a little more leeway. :) thanks again for great content!!
Amy! I just opened a new yarn store in Weston MA called the Unruly stitch, I would love for you to come and visit me! We have a knit night every Thursday as well from 6:30 to 8pm, love your channel xoxo
I know color analysis is underrepresented with POC examples - that people with dark hair and eyes offend wind up typing themselves as winters. But in another video, I think you mentioned potentially being a muted summer? As a fellow muted summer, I definitely think that’s a closer match. You look so good in the sweater you’re wearing here, a dusty, greyed pink. Winters tend to look great in hot pink, bright red, cobalt blue, black-if those aren’t colors you’ve been drawn to wear in your everyday life, it might be because you instinctively know they don’t bring out your best. Anyway, I just wanted to say, trust your gut! Online tools are often wrong, but as a fiber artist who works with colors, you know more than you think you do about which colors suit you best. Take a second look at summers-there are some good resources I’ve found on Reddit about lighter and cooler types on people with Asian heritage, if you haven’t already seen them.
Great insight! I would love to one day get a full in-person analysis which I know is the most accurate. Until then I will take a look at muted summer palettes too!
Here’s an opinion, maybe we can share our agricultural zone. I think this would be helpful in sharing how cold it is on our region and when the first frost is. I’m from northern California but I’m not so sure how that compares to Maine but it would be super helpful

I am from Portland Oregon and I enjoyed watching and hearing about all the fall knits. I love them all. Thank you for sharing
I'm with you- fall is the best! I have been working on fall/winter items all summer 😂
I can totally see the winter tones on you, they fit beautifully. I myself am a spring.
Love these videos! Your Danish is not too far off, great job 🫶
I‘m so glad you‘re already sharing your fall knitting plans! I also want to start Fall Knits beginning of September and your video really got me in the mood 🥰
I'm another girlie living in New England and I just found your channel! Excited to add some of these to my queue
What a fun, inspirational video!! I live in an area that doesn't see super cold winters, 40"s mostly, so seeing the cardigans was great. Thanks for the color consultant recommendation! And I hope to see you at Another Yarn one day...so cool to hear of viewers that are nearby!
I loooove fall in the NE! I live in PA! Glad I found your channel!
Awesome! Love watching and drooling!!!
loved this video as always, Amy!
I hope you’ll have the best time with your fall knitting and really support the choice of knitting the Judy sweater, it’s one of my favorite pullovers I’ve ever made!
Thanks Marlene! Your project really inspired me to want to make it! Every time I see you wear it I'm like 😍
I love the in depth info about the patterns mentioned in the video. Got me hooked on Lento now - I wondered what the hype was about. Often times I scroll past a photo of a project but don't actually know the details behind it. Im excited for fall!
There was a hugely popular knit along that was run by Wool, Needles, Hands last year.Tayler Earl viewers tend to also watch this pod. ❤
Thanks for the great podcast ❤
Ahhhh, these seasonal planning (and recap) videos are so inspiring. Love seeing your favorites and your yarn pairings!
I like your choice of fall knit wear. Cardigans are are a good garment for the seasonal change. A fisherman rib cardigan is on by list to knit and the Sille slipover. Thanks for inspiring us.
Thank you for another great video!
Beautiful knits! I’m always inspired and want to cast it all on 😅
I love using natural products like wood buttons or metal zippers on hand knit projects, it does add to it them IMHO ❤ it will look gorgeous 😻 Ahh and I've added the Judy sweater to my favorites!
Your Lanikai Summer Tee is so pretty. I want to knit the Eva Cardigan, Weekend Slipover V-neck, and Lento sweater as well.
Thanks for highlighting the Judy Sweater. I’ve never seen it before and love it! It’s now in my queue.
Wow that is a jam packed episode, I hope that you get to knit all or most of your planned knits for Autumn, I love the colours that you have selected in your wool, ☘☘
I've fallen in love with the Arctic Light Sweater from Kutovakika. The yarn is already waiting for me 🥰 can't wait to cast it on!
Beautiful pattern picks! I can’t wait to see the fabulous purple yarn knit up into that amazing textured pullover!
What a great video! I loved hearing about your plans! I'm planning to knit my very first cardigan this fall too and I'm so excited 😊
So many mini skeins! I would definitely make stripey socks 😊
Your yarn choices are beautiful! I have the Lento on my list and am anxious to hear your tips on it. Thank you for sharing.

I always love your videos! Thanks for sharing your fall plans.

Haha love the Girl Math logic! So true
I'm so ready for autumn 😚 thanks for the inspo! That dark purple yarn is gorgeous

Omg same here!! It's been such perfect knitting weather here 😄
Same here in Vermont! Some of the trees are already starting to turn. 🍁🍂
New England autumns look so dreamy!!
I'm one of the knitters that was taken by the Lento at the beginning of the year! 😅 I have knitna Lento every month since January - I love it! My record is 6days to knit one 😊
We are all the egg executives of our knitting😂. Love the pattern you suggested and finally chose to knit.
Your Lento sweater is going to be gorgeous! Now I want to make one. I’ve had the Cider House socks on my needles since April- I love the pattern and the process (2 at a time). I am knitting the Judy Sweater with the exact same Juniper Moon Patagonia merino but in Sand as I watch this video. So funny!
Haha that's awesome!!

Congrats with 11.2K subscribers! That is really a lot, went very quickly
Watching this while trying to survive in a heat wave 🥵! But I already started my winter knit, maybe the summer will end faster!
I think I've watched this video in 3 parts, because I keep scurrying off to Ravelry and getting distracted looking for pattern inspiration. 🤣
I've already started a colourwork DK hat because the weather here in the Netherlands has been very confused lately. I also want to make the Towy mitts by Knitlib (Suzen), and I'm hoping to re-start my frogged cardigan soon. Just need to swatch this time.

I have the Eva Cardigan on my needles right now. 😊
Very inspiring episode. Sille slipover will definately go to my to do-list. I'm knitting on my Salty Days Sweater by Kutovakika and hope to finish it this weekend.
This fall I'm going to finish (?) at least one of the 5 summer knits I started! That way I won't feel any anxiety about time! Wish me luck!!
Best of luck!
The bluebird box has a beautiful pullover sweater pattern.
I've got the lento on my list as well! I'm doing a test knit and finishing two other sweaters so I'm not sure I'll be able to get to it lol. But I've got blue suri with a dark grey yarn so I'm thinking it'll be okay for winter!

Loved watching your video as always :D
Thanks for the tip about the weekend hat!!
Liking the video before even watching it lol
Love this roundup! ❤ I’m knitting the salty days sweater by Veronika Lindberg. It’s a gorgeous quick knit. Can’t wait to see your autumn makes! 💕
You might like the super oversized sweater vest by created by ann, I recently knit one and love the proportions!
Fall is also my favorite season 🍁 I am planning to knit Field Sweater by Camilla Vad and Moby sweater by Petiteknit this fall 🥰
I really enjoyed watching this video :) Your videos are always so structured haha I can't bear myself to get like that in my videos :') so way to go! I'm currently working on a navy blue poppy tee as my final summer knit! Might have been inspired by your electric blue one :) also love the tee you're wearing! xxxx
Ooo I love the idea of a navy blue poppy tee! Thank you for watching!
Love your podcast!
May I ask what color analysis website did you use?
Happy knitting
This has been a joy, as always, to listen to while knitting. I currently have three different projects I'm working on, covering all types of "complicated" knits - cables in Arctic Light Sweater by kutovakika, colorwork in Porcelain Sweater by leKnit and lace in dress Augustins no 20 by Anne-Sophie Velling.
Oooh all those patterns are gorgeous! Thank you for listening!
I love this idea of color palettes- where did you get yours done??
Have you seen the Best Vest by James Watts? It's got about 10" positive ease and I am planning to make it once i have chosen yarn
I have, it looks great! Definitely adding it to my favorites list.
I am knitting the Sille Slipover with worsted weight yarn right now, and I can confirm that DK would've been better! It's a fun pattern though and I'm having a great time- I just wish there was a better way of doing a 2x2 rib Italian bind off.
2x2 rib italian bind off is sooo finicky haha but to me worth the effort!
Congrats on the new store! I'd definitely love to stop by some time!
What online color analysis did you use?
The website is colorwise.me
I know color analysis is underrepresented with POC examples - that people with dark hair and eyes offend wind up typing themselves as winters.
First thing I do every video is check and see if all the guitars are in the rack...
Haha I love that!
I looooove petite knit however I find her instructions really terribly confusing. I wish I could understand her better.
Here’s an opinion, maybe we can share our agricultural zone. I think this would be helpful in sharing how cold it is on our region and when the first frost is. I’m from northern California but I’m not so sure how that compares to Maine but it would be super helpful
