Maestro Bernstein doing this Sanctus in April before his passing in October is extraordinary. He was so active and lively and with the bells tolling at the end of this grand performance, I can say that the Great Bernstein performed his own funeral right in front of our eyes. He entered paradise with the baton still firmly in his hands. How many people can conduct their own funeral!
The genius of WA Mozart comes through so naturally and easily in this masterpiece, and the great maestro Bernstein interpreted the work superbly and excellently. Rest In Eternal Peace Maestro. You left us with an irreplaceable, immeasurable GIFT..!!!🙏🙏
That must be painful (in terms of difficulty) but delightful thing to sing. I congratulate you on that! Yeah, I noticed that. The "In excelsis" in Gloria is similar to the melody of "Hallelujah" in Handel's Messiah. I adore those two composers, especially Mozart!
Bravo Bernstein! Bravo Mozart!... Me inspiro con esta música, me elevo y he de descender pues me esperan...pero siempre se puede volver a subir.. Grandísimo el final, y las campanas sonando; parecen querer decir algo más. GREAT!!
Sanctus, Sanctus, Sanctus, Dominus Deus Sabbaoth; Pleni sunt caeli et terra gloria Tua. Hosanna in excelsis. Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest.
Bernstein could have picked any soloists; he chose Auger, von Stade, Lompardo and Hauptmann. Mozart specialists all, and it shows! A simply amazing performance! Laus Deo!!!
I sang this Mass about three years ago...second Alto in that Osanna fugue, and as someone who doesn't read music exceptionally quickly or well, it was a BEAST to learn. A glorious thing though! Speaking of Handel's influence, it's all over the first movement of the Gloria from this Mass, isn't it?
I think if you compare the quality of this Sanctus with the Requiem Sanctus - it is plain to hear that the latter movemnet is not wholly, maybe even not at all the work of Mozart.

Sanctus, Sanctus, Heilig, Heilig bist Du großer GOTT, Dir Lobpreis in Ewigkeit, wunderbarer Gesang! Hervorragendes Orchester!
Toda la misa es una joya, y con Berntein el paraiso. Gracias!
Thank you very much for uploading this entire performance.
Beautiful Arleen and Wonderful Mozart. Thanks for the Treat.
Portentosa!
Sublime!
Celestial!
Esas sopranos por encima de todas las voces entonando hossana in excelsis, son redención al pecador
Anche il "cum sancto spiritu" di questa messa è qualcosa di meravigliosamente sublime

Loving it.
pretty fuckin incredible. superb intonation even on those damned runs. and my god how they loved Bernstein in Vienna.
Watch your tongue...
Gardiner's Sanctus from the black-boxed recording is absolutely majestic, but this here is live, and imbibed with this amazing energy of Bernstein's
This is the most complicated fugue of Classical era (aside from his own Symphony No. 41) you can hear the influence of Handel and Bach.
Divine!!!
Benedictus-Perfetto!!!!
